    Shrimp and grits

Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Our server Andrea was amazing. Shrimp and grits were the best I've had in a long time. The specialty waffles and pancakes are definitely worth the price. Big portions. So make sure you come hungry. If you sit outside you get views and sounds of the river below. Definitely will be back.

This is an attractive restaurant, open floor plan, huge windows, outdoor patio. Located at the base of a mountain, nice. There's adequate parking space available. We arrived and were put on a waiting list and given an approximate time for our table. After a bit we were called before the given time. We were seated on the upper level, and greeted by our server. She was helpful and gave suggestions and recommendations. Coffee was good! Breakfast was hearty and filling, delivered to our table after a short wait.

    Delicious Bloody Marys!

We wanted brunch after a great hike in the park and, as always, consulted Yelp for the best in our area. Thankfully Mountain Breakfast was recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience including a black bear sighting in the creek below the balcony. Kara, our server, was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We each got tasty Bloody Marys- mine all the way with bacon, shrimp, pickles and olives along with the standard celery. Brunch for me was the crab cake benny. I'm from the Chesapeake / Delaware Bay region so crab cakes are either good or bad; these were great! Very little filler, lots of yummy meat and seasoned to perfection. The home fries were sliced nice and thin and cooked golden brown. Hubby got a bowl featuring pulled pork, potatoes and perfectly cooked over medium eggs. He was real happy with his choice. While we were tucking in to our meal, a big black bear moseyed down the creek towards us! We had to share his pic too. Definitely go to Mtn Breakfast if you're in Gatlinburg. Super Yums!

Love the modern atmosphere and style! The view of the river and nature is stunning, plus the seats outside are comfortable! I got the Sweet Cream Pancakes with chocolate chips, and they were delicious!! The workers are very nice and quick with their service!

First time at Mountain Breakfast and won't be the last! Family ordered the breakfast burrito, crab cake Benedict, and kids French toast with breakfast potatoes. Everything was delicious!! The restaurant's modern decor is a beautiful change from traditional cabin decor. Optional outdoor seating offers a relaxing vibe by a small creek. Restaurant just recently opened but food was brought out in a timely manner. Oh and try the pistachio French toast for an epic breakfast experience!!

    Outside eating area!!

The food is amazing, the service is friendly and ambiance is excellent!! We plan to go back before we leave!

The food was incredible!!! So flavorful and definitely the best breakfast we had here. Love the view from the outdoor patio. Nice and peaceful compared to just a few minutes down the road. The service was excellent, our server was kind and attentive. Must get the bacon cheese curds.

I saw (Adventure Is Out There)'s YouTube video on this restaurant and we put this place on our agenda. We sat on the patio next to the stream that runs along side the seating area. The waitress was very friendly and had some suggestions. I had the meat lovers omelet with fried potatoes and an order of fried green tomatoes. They had their special topping on them which gave them a little spice, very mild barely noticeable. Hard to describe but I liked it. The tomatoes had a batter coating that was like my mother's recipe. They were lightly coated with homemade batter not like so many places that buy them frozen and dipped in a thick breading. The omelet was good and large with a lot of meat and some cheese. I could have used more cheese. The potatoes were fried to perfection with a good combination of crispy and soft potatoes. My wife had the waffle and potatoes and it was very good. She ate half of the waffle and I ate the other half the next morning. Still good! We'll do it again on our next trip to the area.

After watching 3 tables that ordered after us receive their food, I asked where ours was at and was told it was next. About 4-5 minutes later our food came out. Cold. Like it's been sitting for 20 minutes cold :/ if they left it on accident, they could've taken 5 minutes to remake and BLT and some French toast. Go a few feet further to Split Rail Eats, you won't regret it! Although the food came out cold, I will say the potatoes, BLT, potato salad and tavern toast were good. But they were all cold. I don't enjoy cold eggs or bacon so they were just a waste of money :/ Paying $50 for a BLT, Tavern Toast adding Eggs, getting our own drinks AND tipping 15% for them to take 35 minutes to deliver our food to us cold IMHO, isn't the characteristics of restaurant I'd promote to others. Had they stated they left it in the window too long and needed to make it fresh and we'd have to wait another 5-10, I'd be leaving a different review. We don't complain, that's why we didn't say anything at the time. We get things get busy and forgotten. Our food was definitely served cold so it was either intentionally left or forgotten. Either way, I don't ask for refunds for this reason. I share my experiences and let others decide how to vote with their wallets and choices. I'm not rude and demand to be refunded. I just don't function like that. Also no one ever asked if our food was good or we would've said something God Bless.

And then I looked again, hoping that maybe something low-calorie or nutrient-dense was hiding and I just needed to look harder. Nope. But if you're looking for a sandwich that consists of chicken tenders between two glazed donuts, then this is your place. Sawyer's has other things that are not so county-fair forward. They are known for breakfast: French toast, pancakes, omelettes. If you get pancakes or waffles or the like, you should definitely ask for their house-made peanut butter syrup. It's amazing and so unlike anything that I've ever tasted. I got an omelette, which was good and had a lot of stuff in it. They will give you hot sauce upon request, which I was grateful for because I thought the omelette needed it. One thing that's really cool about Sawyer's is that they seem to take food allergies very seriously. That's always nice to see! As you're entering or exiting, make sure to admire the decor. It looks like you're in a barn, and as you exit, there's a gift shop with stuffed animals, t-shirts and other things to commemorate your visit to Sawyer's. This is a fun little place that's great for families, for sure.
