Great food! Great vibes! And the staff is amazing! This is our go to spot! We usually order Long Island Ice Tea's. The best! For apps our go to is chicharron de pollo and the queso frito. The bowls are amazing but the chorizo burrito is a must! My wife loves the Cuban sandwich. For dessert the churros are great but my fav is the fried Oreos, with an extra scoop of ice cream. On the weekend they have specials so keep an eye out cause the special is "special". Enjoy! read more

Placed my order early in the day for a 6pm delivery. I reached out to confirm and after assuring me that my order was received and would be delivered by 6pm, these garbage a-holes canceled it with no explanation at 7pm, a full hour after it was supposed to be delivered (after charging me of course). NEVER ORDERING HERE AGAIN. Also, by the time Johnny Tequilas canceled my order, all other restaurants were closed for new orders. So I couldn't get dinner anywhere. Variety of drink specials happy hour daily 4pm to 7pm. The bartender was friendly hospitable and made a very good drink. Pricing and music was descent. The shrimp tacos were tasty. Wish there was a homemade hard crunchy taco shell choice, fried fish, brisket sliders and chicharron. The house made sriracha hot sauce was spicy flavorful and tasty hot. Found this place on Yelp, never knew Roselle was poppin like this! My sis and friends from out of town {staying in nearby cranford} came here for dinner on Saturday night. First, the DJ was dope the entire time we were there! The place was pretty much full, had a 25 min. wait but actually waited maybe 10 mins? Tables were separated by clear partitions and they were definitely on it about wearing your mask at all times outside of eating and drinking. The food, EXCELLENT! great vegan options...Drinks?! Whew!!!! even more EXCELLENT! I had the Baja fish rice bowl and a caipirinha {the fish itself...meh} but the remainder of the dish yum! did I tell you about the drinks?!! sssslurp. Was here with a big group of girls for a girl date we were sat in the basement at 2 card tables which was okay but not like as aesthetically pleasing as upstairs. The music was fire. We ordered a bunch of apps which everyone seemed pretty happy about. My corn empanadas were good. I tried a bite of my friends pork taco which was pretty dry and flavorless we threw on the toppings we had from the tostadas to compensate. The tostadas had a HEAVY sesame oil presence which threw me off. we tried probably EVERY margarita on the menu and they were very VERY good not too sweet good alcohol pour 0 complaints about any flavor really. I'm reading all the great reviews and I'm confused. Granted it was my first time here, and I guess I assumed since they were a Mexican inspired restaurant their Birria tacos would be on point but NO. The tacos first of all didn't have cilantro which is already a red flag lol the consume was like chili sauce? Not to mention the meat itself had absolutely no salt no flavor no nothing. I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. Respect my opinion. Johnny Tequila's formally known as " The Villa" has always been a hot mess of a club/bar whatever you want to call it. The management seems to be the same although the name has changed. The employees all except three gentleman are so rude. The guys are super chill nice and down to earth. The women are complete * witches* for no reason. I get it your working at this crappy bar but not my fault. Honestly the best thing about this place is the live entertainment and the food. The drinks are good for people who like to taste their alcohol and like to get bent. One drink will have you on your ass. The atmosphere is definitely messy freshman college students. Although the crowd is *always* 30 and over . Pro tip : Get the chips and guac Pro tip : Get the chips and guac It can be a hit it can be a miss. This is pretty much the next best thing after Central park. The town is super small and this is pretty much the only bar over here so . Not really much to look forward to. read more

For what is worth the Guava tequila shot was delicious the right kind of sweetness exploding with flavor in your mouth. The fish tacos were okay, nothing different or special. The service was good until it got busy. We were there around 12 right before rush hour, there was only one waiter and multiple tables. Some of our request went unfulfilled and we waiting a long time for food. Good place for drinks, not the greatest for food. read more

This is my 2nd time here. My sis and I visited for dinner a couple of nights ago. We are St. The bar and the bartender was awesome, attentive and fun. The food was absolutely fantastic. My sis n I had to come back for happy hour. They have a cute menu... great prices and authentic Mexican food. It instantly became a fav. Today on our 2nd visit we ate in the dining area. Our waitress was not very knowledgable. My sis n I both ordered empanadas as an appetizer (different kinds) the waitress stated that they will come out "family style" and we will need to cut into them to figure out the type. That is unacceptable as I'm allergic to pork and I don't want my food mixed with my dinner guest(sister or not) so that kinda annoyed me. Then the menu states that the queso Frito comes with a guava sauce (which we loved the 1st time), this time it was brought out with some kind of hot sauce which did not match well. The wait time for the food especially during happy hour sucks!!!! At least the happy hour here ends at 7 and there are daily specials. Over all the food quality gets a 10 THE FOOD IS GREAT! The overall experience varied so greatly that I'm not able to give this place more than 3 stars at this time. read more

Came here for the first Time and I was really pleasantly surprised! I thought this would be a chain sort of Mexican restaurant and its not. First the drinks were REALLY good! Make sure to check in on Yelp and get your free shot! I had the guava, passion fruit and original margarita and they were great. They are very strong also! The passion fruit was my favorite. For food I ordered the shrimp tacos which tasted fresh and the sauce was really good, only thing I wish the portions were a little bigger. Great experience the reason for the 4 Star was the size of the place but everything else from the decor on down was a great experience. The parking is either in the street or In the strip mall on the same side of the restaurant. Once you open the door you are welcomed by a host. There are no booths every thing is high tables and the seats were comfortable. Menu is straight forward authentic Mexican food. Drink menu has a good number of drinks. I have a red sangria and boy it was slamming good. Tapas and entres was excellent. The service was great and very attentive on making sure of everything was good. To be fair it was late afternoon so it wasn't to full but when we were asking for the check there was a steady stream of people coming in. Will definitely come here again read more

I've been going to Johnny Tequila's since they opened and absolutely love this place! The food is amazing and provides a healthy twist on Mexican style food which is great. I also love that they provide some vegan options that are not just salads, which is great as my sister is a vegetarian. I absolutely love the steak tacos they are great and my food always comes hot and with such cute presentation. The margaritas are amazing and I love the many flavors options for the margaritas. It is a great local spot with good music, daily specials and great happy hours, will keep coming back!!! My boyfriend came last Saturday, I was a little nervous about coming here because im not familiar with the area but im soooo happy I did! The outside was scary since the windows are black but once you walk inside the décor is awesome! Its a good date night spot or a night with the girls. I do believe they have a DJ after a certain time but we were there kind of early. We have the guacamole and chips with beef empanadas which we LOVED! I have the blue agave margarita and my boyfriend had the strawberry margarita. When I say the drinks were good and the actually put liquor in the drinks unlike most places lol. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This restaurant used to be one of my favorite places to eat at because their food is quite tasty, although their service is normally pretty slow due to their large crowds. Well today, upon entering the establishment with only two tables with customers I thought that their service would have been much quicker. That was absolutely not the case! We waited 40 minutes for our appetizer which was the queso frito and after a whole HOUR and FIFTEEN MINUTES... our shrimp burritos were still not ready and we were told it was still going to take a while until done. We decided that we wanted to leave and go somewhere else... best part was that our appetizer was 6.50 and the server Justin had the audacity to charge us 50 cents for extra sauce. This place could be so good but the prices are insane. First, The vegan options are very basic for what they charge. Everything is actually very basic for what they charge. The guac came in about a 4 ounce container and it was insanely overpriced. The empanadas were very delicious. Now the bowls could be so much better. I love the incorporation of the maduros I was so excited. My mother got a chicken bowl and she subbed the rice for quinoa. Unfortunately the only thing she enjoyed was the chicken. It was very well seasoned but the quinoa was sweet and kind of watery so it was extremely disappointing for a $20 bowl. Qd*ba or chip*tle can do sooooo much better for half the price. I got the vegan meatball bowl, I was excited to try it but honestly the incorporation of the meatball in a pasta sauce with a bowl of rice beans and sweet plantains for $20 was weirdddddd. I also had a margarita, the waitress asked if I wanted it frozen or over ice when I said frozen she did not inform me that the price was double that of over ice just for a frozen drink. When we receive the bill she informed me that because the frozen drinks are bottled they're double the price if I was to just get it over ice obviously I would've gotten it over ice. That was extremely frustrating and I truly felt like this place was just trying to con us out of money at that point. If I could, I would leave a zero star for a review based on the customer service (or lack thereof). I had placed an order from Ubereats for pick up and when I got home, I realized they had forgotten my guacamole with chips in the bag. I had traveled 25 minutes each way to get my meal, so I was pretty disappointed. I called the restaurant to address my disappointment and I spoke with Manny, who advises me to "come and pick it up if I want it or to dispute it with Uber". I reached out to Uber and placed a second order assuming that they could put the guacamole in the bag as to avoid any inconvenience. I called and spoke to Manny and asked if he could personally make sure he put the guacamole in the bag and he agreed. Upon receiving my order, I check the bag again and low and behold there's no guacamole. I called again to speak with a manager and Manny advised that he is the manager and says he checked the bag twice and thought it was in there which is a blatant lie. Had he checked the bag then he would have realized it wasn't in there. Manny totally loses his composure with me because I was upset about them forgetting twice and him lying to me on the phone when he should have been apologetic. He was very unprofessional and seemed to not want to be there. Besides that, the food was good but as far as the service from Manny they need some serious training or firing of the people that don't want to do there job properly. read more
