Just today I went here. It was my first time and it could not get any better. This could be my new favorite place to get a fabulous haircut. After going to a barber shop close to this place where the barber did a bad job with my hair. Thank God it wasn't too short. I took it upon myself to try this place. The owner Alex and his other worker were very welcoming and asked what can they do. I said that I would like the top to get more flat. Before they did that I explained to them that I got a haircut at another shop and asked for a flat top and a number 2 for sides and back. Alex said and I quote, "That's not a number 2." I agreed and wanted the sides and back just to be slightly shorter with a flatter top. That's exactly what he did and I love my haircut! Everybody loved it even Alex and the worker. Alex has a lot of experience with flat tops and promised me if I wanted to get another one, he'll hook me up. He even was nice enough to give me his business card which was a nice offer. Went with my son and received professional treatment. My son got a simple haircut. I got a haircut, shave, and beard trim. This is the first barber that uses a steam treatment while shaving, an interesting and pleasant experience. Also, this is the only barber that includes a hair wash with the price of the haircut. Since it's a smaller place with three chairs, it has a good "feel" to it. You are not a customer in a haircutting machine. Instead you are a person getting a haircut. In addition, Alex is a good guy who wants to make sure you are satisfied with your haircut. I asked him why the place is named Johnny's since his name is Alex. He said that when he asked his young son, Johnny, what he should name the store, his son said, "Johnny's." How could you resist a story like that. I will be going back. read more

Jonny's Barber Shop is my new "go-to" for haircuts! Previously attended another local barber in Oyster Bay--very nearby Alex's spot. While always satisfied with the other stylist, his personality was like a wet rag! Alex, on the other hand, has a kind word, a big smile and is a conversationalist (if you want).Wash and a cut is such a deal. The deal sealer for me was when I arrived after 6' (his normal closing time) and he had a couple of patrons in front of me. After he got done with my cut, it was almost 7:30--he never said a word about complaining that he was there so long after closing. He did a great job and continued smiling as I parted. So happy that my boyfriend and I found this shop! We got in around 5:30pm and Alex took both of us for full shape ups and cuts. As a woman with the entire underside of my hair shaved, it's been extremely difficult for me to find someone who is good at women's cuts for the top of my hair and also good with a buzzer. We both walked out with great fades and clean cuts. The prices are also amazing and the wash is included in the price! It is the cheapest I have paid for a buzz, wash, cut, and blow out EVER. Great barber shop. They go above and beyond than just cutting hair. I got a shampoo wash, great cut with mostly using scissors, straight razor shave with hot towel and shaving cream also with hot steam blowing on my face. Best barber shop in town. read more
