service is horrible and the employees are racist . I was called all types of racist slurs from black beech , monkey , go back to where u came from . I was slandered about my sexuality and all . simply because the employees would not let me out of the parking lot . I was calm the entire time only asking nicely to be let out of the parking lot . Please do not use their services as the owner is well aware and does not care. I'm so hurt I can't even continue my day with ease . Johnny's has been our go-to mechanic for almost 4 years now. When moving to the area we were eager to find someone we trusted. Johnny is that person. Service is fair, fast and affordable. He is a no-bs guy who will help you if he can, and be honest if he cannot. I had a ten-year-old​ car that he kept good as new. I recently traded in but my husband and I have two vehicles that get regular maintenance. Everyone is polite there, and they work hard. We have been dealing with Johnny's for many years. My elderly mother has been going to another repair center and was told she needed a full transmission replacement that would cost around $4800 for 1990s Ford Taurus. She was seeing a small amount of fluid under her car and was told there were no gaskets or seals to check and she would need the replacement. We suggested a second opinion and Johnny found that there was no problem with her transmission, just some condensation that was pooling. They test drove the car, put it on the lift and spent the time talking to her and only charged her minimally for the inspection. It is shameful that another repair shop was willing to take advantage of her age (and gender). Johnny's is fair, respectful and does excellent work. I highly recommend them! read more

Take your vehical here at your own risk, just because they say "they can do it" dosent mean they can do it well. I called because I was looking for a shop that could help me re-enforce my bumper. I sort of expect some sort of a weld job. I asked a guy named George if they could take a look at it just to make sure if it was something they could do. So I took it to them and George looked at it and said they could do it. I told him okay cool, let me tell you this. Now I'm not a welder but the damage they did to my bumper was completely UNSAT. They burned a whole into my fog lights and burned the wires that connect the light to the vehicle. Before taking it I inspected it and pointed out the damage and the guy simply told me how I could fix it myself!! I couldn't believe it. And he still charged me full price mins you I was in uniform. Not that I expect anything but I couldn't believe this guy. The weld job is so bad I don't even think it would stay on if something hit it hard enough. I wouldn't recommend this place other than to stay away from it. Now I'm sure they can do brake jobs and simple things but take your vehical Al to a more professional place. Extremely unhappy with the service and job this shop provided. I had started going to this shop when I had moved to the area. Back when I had my old car, had no problems with the staff or owner, and all of the work on my car was done correctly. Fast forward to this week. I now have a new car. I had to have my brakes changed, front and back. When I got my car, it seemed like something was wrong with my brakes. They had not been bled. I brought it to the attention to the owner. When I told him what was going on, he told me that I was mistaken, and I was having the issue with my brakes because there was a message about the traction control of the car on the dashboard. He made it sound like I did not know what I was talking about. When I told him it had happened to another car I had, he said he would have someone look at it. I think he finally realized I knew what I was talking about. I received a callback from Johnny later that morning. He told me that what happened to my car only happens to "every one in a thousand cars!" He pretty much explained to me what they did wrong, which I knew was the problem. He apologized, and said he hoped I would return, because he takes pride in providing great service. He was embarrassed about what had happened. I am extremely unhappy with the way that I was treated. This shop messed up my brakes, tried giving me the run around, and argued with me about the issue I had! They tried to fool me! The whole situation could have been completely avoided! I thought I had finally found a reputable, local mechanic that was relatively affordable. It's really frustrating how majority of mechanics are sneaky, and they either try to trick you, or they don't own up to their mistakes if they think you don't know anything about cars. And majority of them do this regularly! The search for a HONEST MECHANIC continues. Save your time, money, AND SAFTEY and get your car fixed somewhere else. I'm new to the area, and I brought our two cars there for repairs and maintenance, and I was very happy with the service. The prices were fair for our oil changes, nail-in-tire fix, and diagnosis and repair of an electrical issue. The owners and staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and good listeners while I described the fairly complicated electrical issue. The shop itself and the waiting area were organized and clean. They changed the oil on one car while I waited at the store, and they fixed the other car (which I had towed there another day) that same day, so it was fast service with both cars. They diagnosed the electrical issue as a pretty minor, inexpensive issue; I know a decent amount about auto repair prices, but I didn't have experience with this particular electrical problem, so I appreciated their honesty. In summary, this is a fairly priced, competent, and honest mechanic- a true 5 star business! I will definitely continue to bring our cars there for service. read more

Returned recently, and due to Johnny wanting to pass the business on into new hands, the name has been changed, and sadly, the vibe too. There was a lot of up-selling and pressure this time. The work was done to good quality, but it was more of an "average" experience, where you kind of need a knowledgeable friend with you now to carve through what is "needed" and what is truly necessary. I don't write reviews often but this one is long overdue. Johnny's Car Care is the best place to get good, honest and fast mechanic work. My husband and I started coming here through word of mouth and won't go anywhere else. Johnny, the owner (who answers the phone) has a _heart_ _of_ _gold_ and won't take advantage of anyone. His prices are very reasonable, too, and has saved our hides on more than one occasion by having parts ready and available for our cars so they can be fixed the very same day we call, usually while we wait. He even showed us after the work was done why our rear breaks had seized up and needed to be replaced. If you're worried at all about getting ripped off, you'll get peace of mind here. We've also been to Johnny's for tire replacements, oil changes, battery replacements...and when I told Johnny today that AAA was trying to sell me a battery before I could get to his shop, he shared with me that AAA likely buys up batteries at a discount that are over 6 months old from stores that have to pull them from their shelves, then slaps a AAA sticker on the battery. I'm pretty sure AAA would have also charged me more for an (old?) battery than the $100 total Johnny's charged me today for a brand new battery including the labor for my 2006 Hyundai Accent. read more

I was quoted at Toyota in Glen Burnie at over $800.00 for a water pump replacement. I was quoted at Pep Boys for $400.00. Johnny's replaced my water pump for just under $300.00. And yes Johnny (or whoever answers the phone) is a bit rough around the edges but his business is one of integrity. A rare find! I also have to buy 2 new tires. Service and tires ended up being about $220. Reasonable prices, good service, and quick. Go there! read more

The spanish girl was rude to the customer on the phone and rude in person. Did. Ot speak very good English. Service was terrible and they did not want to pay for the oil filter cap that broke when they were doing my oil chanfe. The mechanics claimed it was put on too tight but when i told them they were the last ones to change my oil they did not want to pay after they broke the oil filter housing cap. The surprise of all is Johnny was very sarcastic and rude. Thought he was a nice man...Wrong. I will never take my care there again. read more

If I could give a zero I would! Complete rip off for inspections. My daughter bought her first car and took it there for inspection. They said out needed $1000 in repairs. She brought out places and made all the repairs. Then when she brought it back they failed it again saying it needed another $200 repair. Funny, when I brought it to another station it passed and found out the repair they where requiring is not even on the inspection list. read more

Short Version: No bullshit, nice as can be, affordable, knowledgeable, will never go anywhere else. Long Version: I drive a lot, live in Pasadena, full-time job in Columbia (100 during rush hour), part-time in White Marsh (95 and 895 in rush hour). My brakes were starting to really shake and carry on so I knew it was time to have them looked at, but didn't know where to go. I took to YELP to find a good place that wasn't a dealership and stumbled upon Johnny's. I called on Thursday and we set up for this morning at 7:30am. I arrived and was greeted right away by John, himself. My car was brought in and looked at. John pulled my into the bay area and showed me, on my car, exactly where the issues were, and the issues were everything. Now this alone I really liked, instead of just TELLING me he took and showed me. From the reviews I knew the prices were fair and I wasn't going to be jerked around. So new rotors, pads and brake shoes it is. I sat in the waiting room and watched as people came in, were helped and went on their way. Everyone received the same amount of respect at the last person. John and his crew are extremely fast. I was there when he placed the order for my parts and got the best of the best. I spent a few hours their (the parts were delivered to the wrong location due to the fault of the part shop, not John). But while I was there John and I chatted just about everything, he showed me my parts being fixed, as well as the new ones. Kept me updated on what was going on. I even got to try his wife's shop (Roy's down the street) amazing crab soup! I have never been to a more personable shop in all my driving years. My brakes are amazingly smooth now and I feel safe driving again. I received a quote for 2 new tired and an alignment before I left and I will definitely be going back. As soon as I left I called my family and had everyone put his phone number in their phones for car work. I wish I could give more stars. read more

I just came back from there and had an oil change done in 20 minutes! They even inspected my brakes and determined they were still very good. The owner's daughter runs the desk and she is great too. First off, I'll start by saying that Johnny is a character. He's not the type to BS you into services or products that you don't need. He's all about doing business the correct way to keep you coming back. I come to him for anything I need to be done to my car (oil changes, tires, etc.) because I know he's going to give me the best service possible. My first experience with Johnny was an MD state inspection. I came in later in the day, maybe 1.5 hours before they close. Johnny took the car for a spin, but couldn't give me a pass because one of my tires needed to be replaced. He didn't have the tire available but told me if I could get one quickly from another shop then he could give me an inspection before they closed. Long story short, I drove to Sears at Marley Station to get a new tire, but only had a few minutes before they closed for the day. I called Johnny to update him and he said: "come on in, we'll take care of you". I arrived 15 minutes after they closed and the guys were outside on a beautiful Friday evening, relaxing after work. I pulled up, Johnny came up and joked with me a little about charging me an "overtime rate", then signed off on my inspection. The entire shop provided an excellent experience and earned a customer for life. Dropped my car off to Johnny CONVINCED I needed new brakes... he totally could have gone with it and put all new brakes and pads and charged me hundreds of dollars but said that the problem was really that I needed different tires. Got me some great prices on tires, fixed my car now it drives like it's new again. Just had my friend's car repaired there. To be honest, John was a little aggressive on the phone, but don't let that scare you away. He is an honest guy who knows what he is doing and has the best prices in town. As a hands-on owner, I am sure he is a busy guy and does not have a whole lot of time to chit chat. I have no hesitations recommending him to my friends, but I would warn them that he is very "to the point". Haha. A friend sold me his well maintained SUV that he had also recently had some upkeep work done on the vehicle which he had not driven for a few months which he had stored. The location which had the work had done also told me that all was needed was to replace the tires and the SUV would pass state inspection and that they was not an authorized inspection location. So finally after getting the paperwork done and replacing the tires it was time to find an inspection station, a good trustworthy one. I had a folder with all of the work previously performed so I needed a place that was place that was on the up-and-up. I turned to the Internet in research and read a lot of reviews and came to the conclusion that Johnny's Car Care would be the place to try. It was around noon-ish when I went in and asked the man at the desk where is Johnny, he said "you are looking at him" ... LOL; I said well you are the guy I want to meet, he said what can I do for you? Told him that I needed an inspection and he said" Ok, if you come back at 1:30 we will get you in and we will do a bumper-to-bumper and if we find anything I will take you out to the vehicle and show you exactly what it is and what needs to be done. I was back at 1:25, he took my info and keys and I sat down to read and watch the Governor's speech and not long afterwards he came back and said" don't get too comfortable, we're getting you ready to go". Time flew by and Johnny's is a trustworthy business. I sent a text to a female friend and told her that this is a good place for her to bring her car when she need s work done too.
