Johnny's diner is one of the few out of your way places where you can get a good breakfast or lunch. The place is small and has their own parking lot. Once inside you are free to sit anywhere you like. They have both counter and booth seating. Our waitress went over the daily specials with us. Food is very reasonably priced for what you get. My girlfriend and I each ordered a grilled chicken wrap but were later disappointed to learn they were out of grilled chicken. She decided to go for a vegetable omelette. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a side of onion rings. Note-unless otherwise stated, sides are extra but charges are minimal. We got our food rather quickly. I was happy to see my burger was made out of ground beef as opposed to patties but did taste a little dry. The bacon seemed to be a little burnt but I enjoyed it anyway. The onion rings were tasty. My girlfriend's omelette was delicious according to her so she let me taste it and she was right!! It was one of the best omelettes I have tasted in a long time. Portion sizes are generous. When you go to pay you must pay at the register. They have a small notice advising you that credit card surcharges are in place should you choose to pay by that method. I definitely plan to return here to try out one of their breakfasts since that seems to be popular among the folks who come here.

Went to Johnny's Diner last week with daughter & wife for breakfast. The place is very deceiving from the outside as it looks like it would fit about 10 people. It is actually pretty big on the inside. The waitress gave great service and was very fast and friendly. The prices where very good. I had the Johnnys special which was 2 pancakes 2 eggs, bacon & home fries and toast all for $8. Food was good and I would go back again. If you have not been to Johnny's Diner it is worth a trip.

Ended up here this morning after getting a flat tire next to the bridge... Yelp did not disappoint with the recommendation based on previous visits to other diners as well as the reviews of other patrons. The food was more than good and the diner / hometown / small undiscovered gem feeling here is real. We were greeted and sat outside so that we could socially distance, they've placed coverings for shade and tables just outside near the parking. I would return for sure!

It is definitely worth a stop to get some good Mom and Pop style breakfast. I had a good experience here. There are about 12-15 parking spots so decent parking if you ask me. The building looks like it only can hold 5 people but when you walk when you will see about 5 booths , a table , and a bar area with about 10 stools. It was seat yourself so first come first serve. I sat at the bar because I came on a Friday around 10. I was greeted pretty quickly and offered a menu . I ordered some eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast . One of my sunny side up eggs was broke , so she was nice and made me a new when I didn't even ask. I would of eaten it the same, so that was super nice. The food was up in about 10 minutes. The menu was pretty standard. A waffle, pancake, and french toast category. An eggs with toast, a meet and potatoes category. A wrap or sandwich category and a kids meal section. I really didn't see anything special or different on the menu which was disappointing but for the price , you can't beat the food and good service .

On the weekend, we waited about 15 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad at all. During the weekday, we were seated immediately. The star of the meal is undoubtedly the famous crepe-style hotcakes. They're thin, buttery, lightly crisp around the edges, and absolutely to die for. Pair them with the Lyonnaise-style potatoes, and you've got one of the best brunch combinations around. The service was quick and friendly both times, our coffee cups never stayed empty thanks to the free refills, and the food came out surprisingly fast despite how busy it was. The decor has that classic all-American diner charm, simple, nostalgic, and full of character. If you're visiting Pittsburgh, Pamela's is absolutely worth adding to your brunch list. We'll definitely be back.

I had mentioned a nearby diner to a fan I met at the game the night before and he scoffed at me and told me all about DeLuca's. He was passionate about the hot sausage and the griddle toasted Italian bread and I knew we would give it a shot! Turns out, he was absolutely right! DeLuca's is exactly what I'm looking for in a diner! Old school place, seating was comfortable, and our waitress made us feel right at home! I went with the Steel City and that included everything! Pancakes (which our lovely waitress added complimentary bananas to), hot sausage, bacon, home fries, eggs, and Italian bread toast. Everything was cooked perfectly! Hot sausage and eggs made a perfect sandwich on that bread! My wife had a delicious omelette. Such a wonderful send off from Pittsburgh!

Luckily there were only a few people ahead of us and this place doesn't really good job of keeping people on a steady flow in and out. They do require that you have all of your party ready to sit before they'll sit you down. We waited perhaps 5 minutes to get a table for four. Among us we ordered the eggs benedict, biscuits and gravy, and their classic breakfast sandwich. Across the board it was all very tasty. The biscuits and gravy I think use a sweet or sausage that I'm used to, but it was still very good. One of the best things about the eggs benedict is that it didn't taste just like the sauce, which is common. Instead you got the full medley of flavors from the egg and all the fixings. We also got their classic Italian bread french toast which is so buttery by itself you really almost don't need syrup. Served by very friendly but very efficient waitresses. The only downside, which this restaurant can't really control, is that parking is a pain and is expensive. But that's just a nature of the way the Strip District has grown. We didn't have any other sandwiches but they look like they would be delicious and this would be a good place for a brunch or lunch as well.
