I'm not sure if there was a recent change in ownership or what, but Pizza Boss has been a consistent favorite in our household. Tonight was disappointing. We ordered a large pie, which was solid, a bit on the oily side but still flavorful and cooked well. We also ordered a dozen garlic knots and they were really disappointing. Three of us split the order, and all of us felt that they were cold and smelt and tasted stale. Really disappointing considering they're usually fresh and flavorful. One of the WORST pizzerias I have ever had. Got Chicken Marsala and Penne Vodka, first bite of Marsala I can taste fish. I call the restaurant, I explain, the guy says im lying. What?! He passes the phone to another guy, I explain again, he says please hold. 15 MINUTES. Luckily I went through Grubhub and got my money back but I feel for the people that get scammed by this place. What can I say bad about Johnnys Pizza Boss. Absolutely nothing. Ordered online they even came a little early. As I'm writing this review my food is still in the works. I'm finished eating already. Pizza was like any other Deer Park pizza what's sets them apart is the attention to detail. I asked for Greek Salad without onions and they actually listened. I used to go to another pizza place but then they started to skimp on all the toppings so I found Johnny's Pizza Boss instead (who don't skimp on their toppings!). I've ordered multiple times from here, whether it's over the phone, via Grubhub for delivery/pickup and haven't had any issues yet. Most recently I placed an order for one of their specials which was ~$40 after 2 additional toppings and tax (starting price is around $32) for 2 pies (you can customize the toppings but with a slight up charge which is still worth it), a 2 liter soda (you can choose what flavor you want), 6 garlic knots and a large salad (you can choose the dressing). I placed the order via phone and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes, which it was. The times that I've had them deliver, the person doing the delivery was always very courteous and on time or early. If you drive there for the order, there is a small parking lot which I've never had an issue finding parking. Credit cards are accepted but I'm not sure if there's a minimum. Johnny's Pizza Boss will continue being my go to pizza spot as long as they don't skimp on toppings and keep making their pizzas the same! read more

This place has changed hands a couple of times. And the pizza changed with it. They make a good pie. We like it crunchy with toppings occasionally but these new owners are doing it well. Other places in the area are well overpriced and do not deliver the product Johnnie's does. read more

One of many pizza joints in my neighborhood. Tale of the tape: Garlic Knots Medium sized, with a mostly light texture. Unfortunately, they have little to no garlic flavor, despite their very appetizing look. Appearances, in this case, are disappointingly deceiving. Penne alla Vodka Slice Thick for a non-Sicilian slice, with more of a chew than usual, which is mitigated if heated up properly. The sauce is plentiful, but unfortunately it's more creamy than tasty. There is a slight underlying flavor here, but it isn't enough to carry the sauce. I suspect an entrée of penne alla vodka would be disappointing. read more

Spent $125 + $10 tip on pizza, garlic knots etc for delivery. We have a big family and spend at least $100 a week there + lunch here and there. We noticed there was a small container of chicken with some sauce. Someone started eating it figuring it was ordered. We then assumed it was a free thing since we spent so much money for all that we order. An hour later the delivery guy comes back asking for the chicken. We said we are sorry, someone ate it. The owner was on the phone with the delivery guy and says then we are charging them. Really? Who does that? 1st off if it was your order, do you want it after it was delivered to someone else an hour ago? And then you threaten you are charging us for it. How much money we spend there a month/year? I will never order from them again knowing how they would take back food to re deliver it on top of how they threatened us. What if that was our food that came from someone's house misdelivered. NEVER AGAIN!!! Just lost a good, solid customer. read more

Previous owners are gone, thank goodness. Pizza was oily, not sure they used real cheese. New owner Johnny makes a great pie. Unfortunately so far he has not been able to erase the bad reputation the previous owner gave it. I normally get a round pie with sausage. Not oily at all, cheese is creamy and real, sauce is good, crust is flavorful and cooked as you ask for it. If you ask for well done, that's what you get. I usually freeze left over slices and reheat in oven. Let people know we finally have a decent pizza place in Deer Park. read more

I placed an order via Yelp before the restaurant had opened. I then realized I made a mistake after about 20 minutes and I was having the delivery sent to my home address instead of my work address which is nowhere nearby this pizzeria. I called to ask them if they can cancel it or give me a credit or refund and instead I got an attitude from the woman on the phone. She told me that I should have called to cancel it once I placed the order. I explained I didn't catch the error until about 20 minutes later. I said to cancel it then and forget it. When I called I asked for Half Sausage half regular pie well done. The spanish man that had a very thick accent didnt understand my order. I than repeated myself and asked for the pie well done angrily. When I came to pick up the pie it was not well done it was under cooked. Maybe because the man that took my order had an attitude that I would not put up with. read more
