    Fried Chicken sandwich
    Mario T.

I was visiting from the bay and missed dinner. This was one of the only places open past 9 o'clock, and I was desperate. I assumed the worst, but I was sorely mistaken. I had a fantastic crispy chicken sandwich! The batter was tasty and crunchy. The chicken was tender and juicy, and everything that accompanied it was well balanced. A pleasant surprise for less than 20 bucks!

This restaurant has recently opened for breakfast and it's delicious! The coffee is piping hot and the pancakes are the size of flying saucers! We came for breakfast and dinner our entire stay here in Calistoga and the food is sssooooo good! On Friday the bar is popping and packed with friendly people and the bar pack with an array of liquor! The ambiance is a sports bar with locals and tourists gravitating to this awesome spot! I highly recommend Johnny's in Calistoga!

We atehere twice- once for dinner, once for brunch. Dinner was better. Smash burger was on point, loved the extras. We also got chili cheese fries, (chili was like, 3-alarm chili, super super hot with zero warning or heads up on the menu). We ordered a "side salad" but was given a massive $14 salad instead with a bunch of weird extras (hard boiled egg, thick cubed chunks of salami). Blegh. Drinks and service were great. Whatever you do, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. It's stagnant, and tastes like it was poured out of a sweaty construction workers boot. I mean AWFUL. And for a city known for its impeccable water, this was a massive fail. Also, why do they serve water in the most tiniest mason jar glasses they can find? The water is GROSS. Avoid at all costs. Brunch was chilaquiles that tasted like it was drenched in tomato sauce (I know they are partnered with the Italian restaurant next door, maybe stop using tomato sauce and put ACTUAL MEXICAN RED SAUCE instead?). Breakfast burrito was jam packed with Guacamole (they use way too much onion in their guac) and originally came with pico de Gallo inside and topped with salsa (wet burrito style). Talk about overkill. Even when I had no pico or salsa, it still tasted..."salady" with all that veg. Breakfast burritos don't need all those fancy extras. Just potato, cheese, choice of meat, and egg. By the time we stepped out of the restaurant we both agreed we would not be returning again. And that water, ugh.

When you pass by Johnny's , it looks like a regular sports bar. When you enter the place, you quickly realize they serve great food. The staff provides great service and the fried chicken sandwich was highly recommended. The sandwich was delicious and the portions were generous. Unlike other restaurants that nickel and dime you if you decide not to have fries, they offer a variety of side dishes at no extra cost.

Chicken mole tacos and Bud Break IPA

Still good spot for Happy Hour and watching some games... the house brews are reasonably priced (even if 50% more than before covid), and the chicken mole tacos were good. Fried pickles not very good, though... dry and way too salty (more than usual fried pickles)

Stopped here last weekend with my girlfriend during a weekend getaway to Calistoga. If you live nearby, apparently this to the place to be in Calistoga to watch the Niners game. The bar was packed! Luckily we were just hoping to get there for happy hour, which started as the game began to wrap up, so we were able to grab a table fairly easily. It seemed like most folks weren't eating, too, which made food service quick! They've got happy hour every day from 4-6:30pm, which was on our radar before we got to our hotel. Johnny's Bar ended up being attached to the lobby of where we stayed - Mount View Hotel & Spa - which made it all the more convenient. Happy hour consists of lots of small bites, including flatbreads, sliders, wings, nachos, tacos, and smaller bites. Beer and cocktail prices are also insanely inexpensive. The flatbread changes daily and our flatbread was goat cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and arugula. It was a generous enough serving for $6, but we found it to be a bit lacking without a type of sauce. Maybe the other ones have sauce, though! This was the only disappointment. Tacos on the other hand are very reasonably priced at 3 for $6, and ours came with a generous portion of carnitas on each one AND guacamole. $2 for a taco with guacamole is never a bad deal. They were smaller street tacos, but if you split a a handful of orders between a table, you could have a fairly inexpensive meal that tastes pretty good, too. Lastly, I had their Fried Chicken Slider, which was good. There was nothing TOO remarkable about it, but at $3 a pop, their sliders seemed to be a good deal too. Service was nice and waiters were fairly attentive for how busy it was. I have a feeling the environment is much different when there isn't a game going on. If we're back in Calistoga during a happy hour time, we'd probably stop back in!

We recommend this bar if in Calistoga. It's centrally located, has a solid drink menu, and has good bar food. We went here for the super bowl, and the restaurant had a good ambience/vibe. As others have commented, the tv audio and visual is off, which was unfortunate for commercials during the super bowl. However, staff was great, service was solid, and the food lived up to expectation.

4.5 Came in to watch the Niners vs Saints game before we went for a few wine tastings. The staff here is amazing as well as the food. One little thing I personally appreciate is how they have speakers all around so we can actually hear the games as oppose to asking someone to turn up the tv. Most restaurants mite the games but everyone in Johnny's was really into it so they turned up the sound. My friends who joined me had the breakfast burrito which they say they enjoyed very much. The owner brought out a house made habanero sauce which was delicious and well worth the slight head sweats. Highly recommend

Sliders: SRF wagyu beef, sharp white cheddar, applewood bacon & aioli (right), oak roasted mushrooms, fresh chevre & arugula (left)

I treated myself to a Napa Valley Pacific American Pale Ale, and it was amazing! I would've sipped on those all day if I could! (I'm a Steelhead extra pale fan from way back and after the IPA revolution, this is the perfect pale ale, in my opinion.) The food was equally impressive. I really enjoyed the Nashville fried chicken sandwich. Sooo good, with just enough spice and a variety of other flavors to make it super tasty. The wings were epic, too! More sweet than spicy, I found the blue cheese a strange complement, at least for my palate. (I usually like that with something spicy.) The support staff, in particular, are awesome, and the patio vibe is amazing. Although I do hope all those water misters don't use too much water. All in all, one of the best brewery restaurants I've ever been to. We'll be back!

While perusing the local businesses, we discovered Lincoln Avenue Brewery tucked in a small alley. A bartender by the name of Liza warmly greeted us as we took a seat at the bar. Since we were not terribly hungry at the moment, we ordered the Pork Belly from the appetizer menu. While enjoying the delicious Pork Belly bites, we placed an order for their non-beer options (neither one of us are beer lovers). We ordered the Dust Bowl Brewery Strawberry Margarita seltzer, which is ironically a brewery that is located in close proximity to our home. As we were winding down, we ordered a round of ciders and the three meats-three sides platter for dinner. Our dinner reheated well in our room (we decided to order it as takeout to avoid eating such a messy meal in public) and was quite tasty - even though the macaroni and cheese could have used some seasoning. If you're looking for exceptional customer service, a healthy variety of brews, and delicious food - I recommend visiting Lincoln Avenue Brewery!

There's literally something for every mood, every palate, and every friend you bring with you. Their events are always a blast, line dancing nights, trivia, seasonal pop-ups... it brings so much life to St. Helena. I love that they host these on a monthly basis because it gives locals something fun to look forward to. The space is always clean, inviting, and has such a good vibe. The staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and genuinely makes you feel at home. Erosion is small, family-owned, and family-run, and you can feel that level of care and pride in everything they do.
