Walked in around right before lunchtime, and the place was pretty empty, which surprised me. The ambiance is nice, inviting. As for the food, it was decent. Not my favorite spot in Yountville, but it works if you're in a pinch (and if you're a guest at the hotel). I ordered the burger, and honestly, it was just okay. It could've used more seasoning or something to bring the flavor to life. Also, fair warning that the burger comes with a hefty price tag (haha). We weren't planning on dining here but after seeing reviews of folks traveling to dine here only to be denied (because it's guests only), we figured we'd give it a try. DO NOT PASS IT UP like we almost did! I wanted a sit down, classic breakfast during our stay without a wait. The restaurant is right next to the pool, along with outdoor dining. In normal times, I imagine it gets pretty busy but it was very spacious and empty during our stay. We ordered: - French toast with California huckleberries, farina, local yogurt, pistachios, crème fraiche, and maple syrup: From previous guests' photos, the slices looked smaller but they're pretty generous (and thick!) Flavors were so delicious and very satisfying (not decadent; just well balanced) - Seasonal Omelet with foraged mushrooms, vella dry jack, and wilted greens: FORAGED mushrooms (I imagine someone out in the wild with a satchel and gardening tools hand-picking the best forest mushrooms) They were definitely the highlight of this dish. They roll the egg so it's thick and fluffy, kind of like Korean or Japanese style. Also came with breakfast potatoes. - Pain au chocolate: perfect end to the meal and paired so nicely with our coffee. Super crispy and flaky; the chocolate filling was light and satisfying. - Also appreciated that they had decaf lattes. The staff was on point and so friendly. They checked in frequently (for both restaurant and pool guests), filled our water glasses as soon as it dipped low, and got us extras that we didn't have to ask for (like maple syrup...yay!) We also ordered in-room dining: fresh fruit panna cotta and fresh cookies. I wish the portion was bigger for the panna cotta but it was tasty. The fresh cookies were DECADENT. Dined here a few times for breakfast/brunch during our stay at the hotel. Important to note that the restaurant is open to hotel guests only. I'm a sucker for egg benedicts and theirs does not disappoint! They serve large pieces of pork belly along side perfectly poached eggs, totally worth the splurge! Honestly, everything we had was fabulous. The smoked salmon was super fresh and flavorful and I loved the generous portion of mushroom and spinach served with the omelette. On top of all the great food, the service was excellent. All the staff were always welcoming and attentive. The restaurant serves lunch and you can also get snacks by the pool. The restaurant itself is small and intimate, with additional seating in the back patio (some seats have a pool view too!). Definitely a must stop while staying at the hotel! We went in for coffee and had the best vanilla lattes. Beautifully clean, bright & crisp dining experience. Fidell, our waiter was pleasant & even brought us a fruit plate while we waited for the rest of our party. Hubby ordered the classic breakfast with the apple sausage and said it was super delish. I ordered the mysterious breakfast risotto that everyone continues to say they want to order but just don't. I thought, "why not!?! When in Yountville...." It was warm & rich. The vanilla flavor mixed with the strawberries reminded me of an oatmeal lovers delight. A little heavy, but the hubs finished it off!! Will return again tomorrow for sure! read more

Came here for brunch many times during a trip in Napa in june. I could have the western omelet with the fingerling potatoes and fresh squeezed orange juice everyday. Also memorable was the pork belly eggs benedict, which is rich and totally worth it. On another occasion, we also tried a salad with heirloom tomatoes and fresh, creamy burrata cheese. No complaints about any of that. On top of all that the service was excellent. I don't remember our server's name, but he was just so nice, along with everyone else. We wanted some guacamole with our breakfast, and even though they didn't serve guacamole until lunch, they were nice enough to bring some out and throw in some chips too. If you get a chance, definitely order the charcuterie plate. It won't disappoint you! read more

When I called to make reservation I was told it's only for hotel guest but since they were not busy they could seat us. When we arrived 11:00 am Sunday morning we were the only customers!! Still they took care of us Resturant is decorated beautifully as is resort! We all started with the mimosas delicious! My son ordered the pre-fix menu $40.00 first course salmon app main steak and eggs beautifully presented and delicious with chorizo! For dessert a assorted berry bread pudding made to order delicious! Service was ok considering we were the only ones was hard to get anyone's attention since staff was busy talking amongst themselves by kitchen? My French toast was fantastic ! Husbands pancakes with huckleberry s was delicious and a side of 2 fried eggs cooked to perfection! My daughters wild mushroom omelette lacked in seasoning and flavor but nice presentation!!! I asked for my eggs cooked, though and they came runny, I just skipped them. The Pork Belly was enough. My friend got the breakfast tasting menu. Duck and Donuts was very good. We came here for breakfast on our honeymoon, the venue itself is beautiful and very clean. Slightly upset that the duck and donuts were not on the menu anymore, We ordered freshly squeezed orange juice, the house cured king salmon and the hopper kitchen Benedict. The orange juice was very fresh, it tasted so good!! Many I am amazed because California oranges taste so much better than the Florida ones that we get on the east coast! Also the cured king salmon was also fresh and great, the lemon creme was the perfect touch to make the dish feel light as air! I highly recommend this dish. However the Benedict was not good!!! they drowned the egg in the hollandaise and being paired with an overly cooked pork belly, presented itself to be a dish that was just to fatty to eat. Hopper Creek Kitchen is the little restaurant at Hotel Yountville. There are only a handful of tables, but I've never seen more than 3 or 4 groups dinning at one time. I guess with downtown Yountville a 5 minute walk down the street, not many people will be eating here for breakfast or lunch. The service could use a little improvement, they are very nice and attentive, but not very experienced; there's a certain degree of fumbling and mumbling with the servers. The décor is clean and understated to the point of being bland, but the fact that there are views of the pool area is a plus. The food is good, not great. We've been a few times for breakfast, and I haven't been blown away. You can have your classic breakfast; choice of eggs, sausage / bacon, toast, etc. A couple standouts are the wild mushroom omelet and blueberry hotcakes. Great place to grab a quick bite if you don't want to go into town, but not worth a special trip. read more

We had room service from Hopper Creek two years ago and my feelings were pretty mixed at the time. However, this time around we were encouraged to try the brunch and it was phenomenal. On the pricier side but the pork belly eggs benedict was excellent as well as the french toast. Just really rich decadent dishes. Wish there had been more hollandaise on the benedict, but that's a personal thing. I can never get enough hollandaise. The eggs themselves provided plenty of moisture and it was overall just a fantastic brunch. Can't speak to the dinner or otherwise but even if you're not staying at Hotel Yountville, I suggest you try this place out. read more

Wish we had eaten here more than once during our stay. It's THAT good. It's an inventive menu that is familiar and unexpected at the same time. A tasting menu for breakfast? Yup! The first course was a mushroom broth soup, which I thought was good but not great. But the Duck 'n' Donuts and Bananas Foster French Toast more than made up for it. I was pretty skeptical about this place and went in with a bit of a closed mine because I didn't really feel like going for brunch. We got a really nice seat out on the patio near the pool. I was really impressed, it was such a nice way to spend the morning. The food was amazing, everything so fresh and presented beautifully. Living in San Francisco, a brunch "Mecca", this meal would have cost a lot more and would have been a lot worse. For $20 per person, it was the best deal in town (no booze). My only complaint, I ordered the hopcreek breakfast, it came with an assorted pastry basket. When they brought out my plate it did not include the basket, same w my friend who ordered a side of toast. Both didn't arrive until at least ten mins later. Came here for breakfast after reading all the good reviews. Got here at noon but breakfast ended at 1130. O well, we decided to stay for lunch. The dining room was empty and we decided to sit outside, which was also empty. I ordered the madam crouque and he ordered the Thai buns. We waited for about 30 minutes then saw one of the cooks trying to flag down the server. The server walked to the kitchen and brought our food. Our food was completely cold. The server took it back, but by then we were tired of waiting. I told the server that we were going to leave, and the response was "okay, our mistake." No guest recovery at all. Too bad. read more

Nice place for a hotel restaurant. Nice atmosphere, service is sometimes quick but when it gets busy the servers get overwhelmed. We had to flag one down the other morning because no one approached us to take our order. She was very apologetic and seemed embarrassed. There was a wedding party at the hotel and folks just kept showing up at the tables. Food was delicious (poached eggs, bacon, goat cheese omelette) but my husband asked that his English muffin be toasted crispy it still came out half toasted. Many restaurants have this inability to toast bread properly so Hopper is not alone. This restaurant is known for the eggs Benedict with crispy pork belly, but it's not my favorite. My wife and I are staying at Hotel Yountville and came to Hopper Creek for breakfast and we were very impressed. As far as staff/service goes, the hostess was very welcoming and gave us a great table near a window and away from other guests there; our server was very professional, helpful, and attentive. The food was also wonderful and priced quite reasonably. I got the classic breakfast, the eggs and English muffin were wonderful and the fingerling potatoes were also delicious. My wife got the seasonal omelet which was just fantastic. I was pumped it was so big because it meant I got to finish it for her. Very delicious. Overall we had the best experience we've ever had from a hotel restaurant and would definitely return if we ever make it back to Hotel Yountville. Keep up the great work! read more

The French toast is all-star 5 star hence the 5 star rating. According to my husband, the French toast he had was pretty damn amazing. And he's a discretionary French toast eater. I had the goat cheese omelette with a substitution of egg whites. Delicious as well, but the French toast with the bourbon maple syrup blew the doors off. Err, the socks off. We ate here 3 days in a row. The food is fantastic. The French toast has fried banana with a nice sweet cheese and a hint of mint and is the best I have ever had. The fresh squeezed juice is a nice touch too. The prices are reasonable as well. read more
