Brought lawn mower in for diagnosis for transmission not turning wheels. When I got there and we started it up it was working fine. I saw he had other mowers there so I spoke to him about them and every one he started would barely run expect one and he was asking $185 and would give me 25 for my original mower. I told him I wanted to talk to wife about it and he told me to leave my original mower and he would check out. I left came back next day and decided to just wait and pick up mower. Well since I was not purchasing a mower now he wants to charge me $25 for work done. THEIR WAS NO WORK DONE!! I was pretty upset about his work ethics. Some years back I bought a used bicycle from this guy for my granddaughter. It was a good bike and he was very pleasant to deal with.

My honda lawnmower's pull cord snapped and the recoil seemed frozen. It wouldn't move. I spoke to John and dropped it off in the morning, thinking it'll take him a week or more. I was surprised when he called two hours later. He replaced the recoil and started the lawnmower for me. When I asked how much for his services, he reluctantly said $55. I gave him $60 and told him the extra $5 was for his quick turnaround. Yes maybe it was an easy replacement but I'm not mechanically inclined and John had the part. Not Recommended!!!! Hole in the wall shop. Which we like to go to and support. But this shit ..... It deserves no star... Earlier today my husband and I went there to get our lawnmower tuned up and the blade replaced. The owner gave us a price of $85 with the blade replacement. Came back to pick it up. Now my husband inspects his shit, the first thing he asked "you changed the blade let me see it?"... Jason: your blade is still good. All I did was changed the filter and spark plugs. My husband: so how much I owe you? Jason: $85.... My husband & I looked at each other. That's when we told him about himself, him trying to rip us off...and how now we will write fucked Up reviews...And that's when he said "you know what here take it for free". We were like nah we'll pay for our shit but the price you gave us and did not complete what we were quoted on. It ain't no $85. Give us a fair price!!! He knocked it to $75. If I wasn't there my husband would of lost his marbles.... My husband gave him a $100 bill and told him give me $25. He ended up giving back $40. Which should of been from the get....$60 without the nonsense and bad review of customer service!!!!!! If you do end up going there anyway...recommend getting a service cost receipt. read more

I decided to give john a try thinking he would be a small engine savvy guru. Nope. Wrong. In regards to my mini bike repair they swung and missed big time. He said no problem when I asked for throttle and brake adjusment, after a week i get a sticky throttle and a bike that runs worst than before. He also hands me back brand new parts he couldnt figure out. I wasnt going to post anything but i finally had time to tinker with the bike this weekend and it took me an hour to repair the same things i asked him to do. Disappointed to say the least read more

Don't be fooled. I brought my first lawn mower there because it wouldn't start after YEARS of service and had never had any issues. I took it to John who sold me on the idea that it would be so expensive to diagnose, I could get a better deal by trading him for a like new mower. So I went for it. 6 months later that mower dies, pretty shocked considering my last one worked for so many years without incident. I brought this up to John who acted offended and then started talking down to me. So I get it fixed by him figuring it was my fault like he said, move on with life and low and behold! You'll never guess how long the "repair" lasted this time.....6 months! I WILL NOT BE TAKING IT BACK TO JOHN! The old man in the hat routine got me, figured he would be honest like my grandfathers. I don't mind paying for services but when the price of the repair is almost as much as buying a new one and the service is subpar then you should think it twice before using this location. I always try the small business owner first even if it is more expensive, but people like this guy make it difficult to support them because when they are rude and border line mean you don't have any corporation that will take responsibility. If your lawn mower is not working, run, do not walk, to John's. We experienced friendly service, better than fair pricing, and ready for pick-up ahead of schedule. Our lawn mower simply would not start. Called around, some places (hardware store chains) required $75+ just to bring the mower in. John gave us a few scenarios of what the issue may be, his solutions, and ballpark price estimate. The choke was not working properly on ours, as he explained may be the case. He repaired, replaced spark plug, and drained old fuel, all in one day. Our lawn mower works like a champ now, and it barely requires a full pull on starter cord. This business is by my house and he has been around for a while. when my lawnmower decided to die...i was debating on buying a new one or trying to fix the one we had. I went by here and he told me he will look at it free of charge and give me an estimate. I brought it in, he said $85 bucks and it will be good as new. Brought my electric chain saw in because it wouldn't cut anymore and constantly slipped. John fixed it within 2 days for a very reasonable price considering he replaced a 14" chain and readjusted the belts for $40. I will definately bring all my stuff to him for repair.
