We've been coming here for over a decade! Customer service is top notch. We traded in our last bikes and upgraded to Giant pedal assist e-bikes! We loved our last bikes but now love having the assist in which we can ride further and get help when needed going up steep inclines. Robert the owner is super friendly, humble and knowledgeable. He always listens to what we want and goes above and beyond. My husband recently surprised me with a metal basket but it didn't work out for me as I had something else in mind. We went to see Robert and he had no problem exchanging the basket and showing me options. I love options and how he wants to make sure his customers are satisfied. I absolutely love my new upgraded Top Peak Bike Bag. It slides in and off the bike rack mount. It even has a strap if I want to carry it as a bag. Hmmm. I wanted to like this place. I really did. They sell girl specific bikes (Liv by Giant) and I wanted them to service my little humans bike. Welp. It apparently a bike that is "safe to ride" needs 2.5 hours of work on it for a whopping $350. Given that the bike isn't worth that and they will not be making 100 mile treks on this bike, $350 per bike seems a little excessive. What got me is that the pricing on the website for a complete tuneup is listed as $130 right now. How did we get to $350? I'm a bit confused. Nonetheless, there are a few other places that I would rather go to that might not be so expensive. I wish them well. I love to see mom and pop stores excel. My husband brought his electric bike here with a new set of tires he bought online asked them if they could change it for him they said yes but labor will be $130. It was in the shop for 4 days, didn't even start on it. We called and they said they can't do the tires for him unless he gets a brand new brake system for a total of $410! Like what? So we brought it to another spot down the street called "ELECTRIC BIKE CENTER" asked about the brakes they said there's nothing wrong with it and they changed his tires for $90. read more

I took my scooter to Dublin Cyclery last week to get a flat tire changed out. The first guy I spoke to on the phone gave me some good advice. Most people when they buy an electric scooter probably don't realize how hard it is to change a flat tire on them as getting the wheel off isn't easy, as the brakes are hard to remove. Also bike repair shops don't typically have 10 inch spare tire tubes on them. He told me to install rubber tires on the scooter instead of air pressured tires then you never have to worry about a flat again. I took their advice and got it done. Now I won't have to worry about dealing with a flat again on the scooter. Highly recommend these guys for your bike & scooter repair needs. read more

"Biker Baffled by Twisted Chain. Bike Shop Owner Untangles in 5 Minutes & Refrains from Calling Biker an Idiot." This morning, I was all ready to go on a trail ride. After fixing a flat, I discovered that the chain had a loop in it--sort of like a knot. Where did that come from? Naturally, being an engineer, I was obviously not responsible for this mess. It must be something wrong with the bike! The chain must be defective somehow. After struggling with this puzzle for about a half hour, I swallowed my pride and took it over to Dublin Cyclery. I figured Robert, or one of his gang of technicians, would fix it in five minutes, and I was correct. Even though the shop was not even open, the owner, Robert, went out of his way to come outside and help me. Then, he did not even want to charge me anything! Needless to say, I paid him anyway. How does that quote go? "A workman is worthy of his wages." Robert saved me hours of frustration. It turns out that this mishap happens occasionally. It has to do with putting the chain on wrong when it is off the sprocket. I still don't quite understand how this happened. I'm pretty sure it's the bikes fault. Every experience at this bike shop has been wonderful. I love patronizing our local bike shop, and I purchased my mountain bike here. The folks here are professional and friendly as well. We bought 2 bikes from here for myself and my daughter. For my daughter's bike, we were able to trade in an old bike that we had bought from another bike shop. She got a pretty cool road bike, suitable for her height. I was also able to buy a bike after my last one got stolen. The sales associates were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I test rode the bike and it felt really comfortable. I did have to return twice to get the seat adjusted. They offer a free tune-up within a year of purchase. Simple purchase: I needed some tubeless tyre sealant. I could buy two of the two-ounce bottles, or one 32-ounce bottle. So I bought the large bottle and it will probably last me the rest of my life. BUT THIS: The man who helped me, a slender but robust man with a red-orange beard, brought me the jug of Stan's, but also brought me an empty two-ounce bottle that I could use to measure and dispense the sealant from the larger container. Their love and expertise shines through what they do and how they do it. We came here to get a new bike for my daughter (she outgrew her old bike). She tried three bikes multiple times. The associate who helped us was so knowledgeable and so understanding with what we needed! She explained the features of the bikes that she thought would be a good fit (such as bar height, distance from seat to handlebar, speed controls etc), went through how their warranty works and what to do if we need repairs or tuneups. There was completely no pressure and she was fully present with us the whole time - such a rare experience in our time :) Then the mechanics made sure the bike was in perfect condition by double checking everything, including all tires, seat height, and seems like every screw. You know, the kind when the people who work there listen to your needs and truly try to offer solutions that fit your lifestyle, budget, and health goals. Big box stores may save you a couple dollars but usually there's no one that can offer advice or repairs. These guys, especially Todd was of incredible help in making the decision to step up my game a little and get a hybrid bike with disc brakes. Comparing my new bike to my previous one, my average speed increased 10%+ over my same route! PROS: individual help, good selection, fair pricing, knowledgeable staff that are also bike enthusiasts, first tune up included, as well as minor adjustments ( appointments highly recommend), easy access and parking. CONS: can get busy, limited lower cost options, appointments needed but understandable. BOTTOM LINE: if you prefer to have a knowledgeable guide and not necessarily looking for the least expense route, I really recommend you at least include Dublin Cyclery when shopping for a quality bike. read more
