Kitchen remodelling is one of the most intricate and very detailed oriented task to tackle. It is the heart of the house. Being said and before you decide to do kitchen remodelling, make sure you have the time to work closely with your contractor! I worked closely with KF from the design to execution throughout the completion of the project. Let me share my experience with KF in details. Working with their sales rep was a smooth process. We worked with Dean through the selection of cabinets, floors, countertops, sink and faucet. Then here comes the selection of appliances. We shopped around and selected the appliances we will put in our kitchen and then gave the details to KF to incorporate it into the layout of the kitchen. A layout and a 3D model was made for review to visually see how the new layout of the kitchen will look like. This is where the critical part of the work needing your attention. Make sure to check the clearances provided for the appliances are all correct. The designer did not check the size of stove we will use. Mistake was made to our layout. We didn't catch the mistake as well and drawings got released for final approval. Then the execution, demolition to our kitchen took place as scheduled. 2 guys came in to remove all the old cabinets, countertops and appliances. It was a 3 day process to demolish and clear the debris. Prepare the walls for new construction. The electrical work. One electrician started to put new outlets and upgrade our electrical sub panel. This is where it got tricky because the new location of our panel is still part of the walk-in closet. The city inspector pointed out it is against the building code to relocate an electrical panel from a closet to a walk-in closet. The good thing was I was able to divide the walk-in closet into two rooms. I contructed a wall to divide this room into a storage where the new electrical panel is located and a separate walk-in closet. I did this work myself because it was not part of the contract. It will be an additional cost if I have KF do this work! The intallation of the cabinets! This is where we discovered the layout was incorrect. The clearance made for the stove is 36 inches, we ordered 30 inches stove. The location of the cabinet for the garbage was wrong too. KF ended up replacing 5 cabinets at their own expense to correct the layout. Make sure that during this process you check every position and clearances for your appliances are correct. This your final check before countertop measurement! The measurement of countertops and backsplash. A guy came in to make a template for the countertop and backsplash for fabrication. The process is to measure and install countertop first and then measure and install the backsplash. Make sure to check the level and squareness of the backsplash and countertop. I checked the backsplash and it was out of square. I have them corrected it on the spot! This is a very critical process and very expensive to correct if installed incorrectly. The installation of new flooring. I picked LVF to replace our carpet and hardwood. There is only one type of floor we use for the entire house. This went very smoothly and efficient. The worker even show up on Saturday to do the work. He knows how inconvenient for the owner is to move things around to clear the areas to install new flooring. Kudos to this worker who did our floor. The installation of appliances. It went smoothly except the anti tipping bracket of the stove was not properly place to capture one foot of the range. I went back and forth with the installer to correct it but I ended up correcting it myself to get approval from the city. The final touches. Ensure you are there and inspect every square inch of the cabinets and walls. You have to point out to the workers to put caulking on every holes you see. KF workers were not very thorough on their final touches. The final inspection. This is where the city will come in to inspect the electrical work, the wall I constructed, the undersink cabinets and do some testing on new circuits of the kitchen. Check and check their work. If you are not satisfied with their work. Make them correct it. This is your only time to tell them to correct things you are not satisfied. For example I have them replaced the valve of the faucet where one of the hoses has tight bend. Check fittings for leaks. This is very important! As I elaborated above, KF has the means to do the work. The coordination with their project manager was not very proactive. You need to make many follow ups to get the work done. Some days have no work activities. A couple of days they worked upto 8 in the evening! Overall I am happy with the result of their work but I also spent many hours to work with them. At the end of the day, it is you who will live in the house and it's your kitchen! When it comes to cost and the hours I spent working with them, the overall cost of this project was expensive. read more

From start to finish of our Kitchen, Bath (3) and Laundry Room Remodel, we were so impressed with the professionalism of EVERY SINGLE PERSON we interacted with at Kitchen Fantastic. I had already received 4 quotes with 4 different contractors and I just happened be talking to a real estate agent who is selling townhouses at a new development in Walnut Creek. She said we had to call Johnny Gonzalves in Livermore (they were doing a remodel for her). Well she was right! Also keep in mind I have managed with contractors two different houses built out of the ground in two different states and a large kitchen remodel. So I am experienced on the pitfalls/challenges and benefits of working with contractors. Johnny is a VP of Kitchen Fantastic (66 person company) but still quotes and consults for new projects. I think they technically call them Designers. He was just so knowledgable and really my wife and I got terrific advice. Steered us towards things we never even thought about. Example - Since we were replacing the dishwasher and range we might as well replace all the appliances (Fridge/Freezer and Microwave) since they were 13 years old. "Make a chef's kitchen for your wife Frank!" he told us. So we got all Thermador appliances! Faith at Legacy Appliance set us up for success to get our appliances in a timely fashion. And Omar did all the installation. We got a great bundle price with Johnny and Faith. Plus, Luis and New Luxury Baths and Kitchen did a great job helping us pick out 4 new bathroom sinks and faucets. Once we signed the contract and start date was secured, he was able to get this folks scheduled immediately. (Advice #1-Secure start date before you sign the contract) Desiree Ferriera was assigned as our project manager. She was amazing. Kept the project on track like nobody's business! Day 1 Omar and his team of Nilo, Ivan, Mario and Goya just did amazing work demoing everything on the first day. In the meantime we worked with Arturo and his Dad Pedro in San Jose (they do all their Quartz Countertops and Backsplash for Kitchen Fantastic and I was able to go down and see the quartz slabs after they were created and before they were cut. (Advice #2 - I recommend that). Actually Johnny recommended it. Seams in the quartz can be tricky) Their installation and fitting and cutting was amazing really. Total project took 6 total days. Each day they cleaned up the job site to perfection. Always on time and worked a full day. Coordinating everything can be tricky which comes to my final point. I LOVE that they were a ONE STOP SHOP. All the sinks, faucets and appliances showrooms are RIGHT NEXT to their business in the same business park on 7 East Airway Blvd in Livermore. I was getting quotes from other contractors for labor only and I had to go get my own separate quartz quotes. Could not compare apples to apples) I wanted none of that. (Advice #3 - Go Turnkey for your contractor choice) I love their turnkey approach. Johnny and Kitchen Fantastic have great partnerships with their vendors and they all work well together. I absolutely love my new kitchen!! My husband and I were in search of a contractor so we stopped by the showroom. We were welcomed immediately by Annalesa and felt welcome. We met with Johnny who sh!owed us the amazing selection. I loved the idea of one-stop-shopping. Johnny came to our house the next week and sat for at least three hours giving his ideas and listening to our needs. I had a dated sad kitchen with awkward spaces. Johnny designed the perfect kitchen. They started September 20th and finished exactly 6 weeks to the day. I love my new kitchen! My first encounter with Kitchen Fantastic was at the showroom. Stopped in to look at some ideas. I wasn't in a hurry to remodel, but after seeing the beautiful options on display I was excited to get a quote. Having no idea of what to expect, we invited Ashton to our home to take a look and give us some ideas. Ashton was attentive, listened to what we wanted, made suggestions and ultimately provided us with a quote. It's important to note that Ashton actually sat with us at our kitchen table while we went over what was important to us. He listened and he asked what we wanted and based his suggestions on our preferences. This was very much appreciated after dealing with some other businesses that were in a hurry just to get the sale. Our remodel included removing and replacing old cabinets, counters, sink and appliances. We kept the original floorplan but did not replace the flooring. We were able to add an additional cabinet and maximize the space we had. We were able to change the old double bowl sink to a modern undermount stainless steel sink. Our old sink was off-center under the kitchen window; with the new sink and custom counters, we were able to have the sink centered under the window. This has make a huge difference in the look and functionality of the kitchen. The crew was always very friendly and answered my questions (I had a lot!). We had a great experience getting our kitchen remodeled and floors replaced by Kitchen Fantastic. Bryce did a great job educating us on our design options and guiding down the right path based on the feedback we gave him. Bryce listened well and remained patient throughout the design phase and made sure to implement as many of our ideas as possible while maintaining a functional design and flow for our new kitchen. We visited several stone yards and tile shops w/Bryce before we found exactly what we were after. We ran into a little trouble with the stone yard not putting our selected quartzite on hold for us, but Bryce navigated thru that well and it worked out. We ended up gutting and reorganizing our entire kitchen: installed an external exhaust hood vent, moved the dishwasher, new cabinet uppers/lowers, island, a new sink, range oven, quartzite counters, backsplash, SPC floors, and even a new fireplace. Luis and his crew did a great job as well. From keeping the place as clean as possible during demo and respecting our house thru the whole job - to paying close attention to detail and installing everything according to the design; Luis and his crew are skilled and care about delivering quality work. There were a few hiccups along the way, but as long as we brought them up, Luis made sure they got taken care of. My advice here - just keep a list, stay in touch with Luis, and be patient. The work can take quite a while to complete, but we always had an open line of communication and a plan for the next steps. In the end we couldn't be happier - literally. The result is a kitchen we love and better than we had imagined. This is our first kitchen remodel and feel like we made the right choice by going with Kitchen Fantastic. Money well spent! read more

We hit the lottery when we chose Kitchen Fantastic, a one-stop-shop, to remodel our 1990's kitchen. Our kitchen is so, so beautiful, and from demolition to completion it only took 4 1/2 weeks! It all began after speaking with Annalisa and scheduling a time for Johnny, their VP and designer to come to our home and provide an estimate. Johnny, who has 30 years experience, was the only creative person of all the other contractors that saw that we could save structural costs and open the other side of the kitchen that had a pocket door. That alone saved us a minimum of $30,000.00. Johnny took his time that first day to listen and ask us questions. He actually wanted to get to know us, and at the end of the scheduled visit, he had drawn out a layout that we loved. We knew Kitchen Fantastic was the company we could entrust to bring our vision to life, and they did! And it was such a relief to know that we wouldn't have to work with subcontractors because Kitchen Fantastic has their own tradesmen employees for all phases of the remodel. It was also great that we could select all that we wanted for our kitchen from their showroom, and walk next door and pick out our Thermador appliances from Legacy Appliances. It was all such a game changer! I have a beautiful new kitchen because a dishwasher valve broke and flooded the whole kitchen, family room, laundry room, living room and dining room causing all the counter tops and cabinets to be removed and replaced in the kitchen. It was a disaster. After getting 3 bids to replace everything Kitchen Fantastic came in with the lowest bid and nicest Project Manager and what a magnificent job they did. They were always available when ever I called and so pleasant to work with. I am so happy I picked them, and my insurance paid for it all!. I called Kitchen Fantastic 4 weeks ago to get an estimate for a light kitchen remodel (a countertop replacement and backsplash) and the job is already complete. The crew did an amazing job, were very professional, and left the house clean at the end of each work day. While it wasn't a large job, Ashton was eager to work with me and get the job going. Ashton was also very quick to respond to questions, replying to my texts almost immediately. We had some older plumbing under our sink, so when the plumbing was removed, it created a slow leak. Once I discovered the leak, I let Ashton know and he sent someone over within a couple of hours to fix it. I could have put a bowl under it and wait for the new sink to be installed, but they wanted to address the problem immediately. Such great customer service!!! Kitchen beyond Fantastic! Summary review: they blew my expectaitons away, ahead of scehdule and at budget, never asked for revisions, no overruns, and never cut any corners! Long story: Was pricing out a full kitchen remodel as ours is 30+ years old. Wanted to go with the large well known vendors to avoid all of those contractor horror stories you hear about getting burned for cash, no shows, and shotty work. Got bids from Cabinets To Go and Granet Expo which will put in cabinets and counters but stop there, the rest of the work is on you to be the prime contractor and hire subs and chase parts. They wont do things like recessed lighting, back splashes, plumbing, electical, permits (yes you may need permits), etc. Saw Kitchen Fantastic ad on TV and decided to give them a call. Ashton from Fantastic team came out quickly, listened to our needs, and dreams, and almost imediately designed a plan that far exceeded what we had designed with the other two shops, at a price that was so reasonable we did not shop the job to other companies. Ashton is a kitchen wisperer, he made configurations and suggestions in real time on his laptop we never thought of. He took his notes and had us a complete quote in 2 days. Their quote was not too much above what it would have cost me to buy all the parts, supplies, and specialty tool rentals to do it myself. It listed everything out so we could see what was going to be done with no surprises or subsequent arguments. Background, I have always done my own work (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, sheet rock, windows etc.) so I know what parts cost, how much labor each task requires, and when a job is done properly vs half a$$ed. The Process was extreemly fast: first on site work day was December 17 and they were 100% done on January 15, this is with us not being home for the week between xmas and new years for them to work. They were beyond communicative in that they assigned a scheduler (Desiree) to our project who sent us weekly schedules with daily arrival times, which team is coming, and what was going to be accomplished. The teams were always on time, super polite, clean and quiet. Deseiree kept in contant phone and text communicaiton with us and was by our side through the entire process. Even checked in after completion to see if there was anything we noticed that needed touch up or adjustement (there was nothing needed but a nice touch on their part) I asked the cabinet guy how long he has been with them he said 9 years, asked how many kitchens per year he does, did the math and he has done something over 900 kitchens for them. He was a friggen artist, they all were. Each person was master of their craft. They are all employees so you dont have to worry about getting a random lein years later. (this is a major decision point if you are thinking about doing any construction) -They have kitchens down to a science. Each task is done by a specialist in that area. -They layed all new electrical for the job and listend to my requests and built it for future exansion. -They hooked up the plumbing and went the extra mile to put in a recessed shut off for the ice maker. -They hooked up the gas and placed the shut off where it could be accessed easily behind a drawer for shut off if needed -They installed the cabinets and placed access to anything in wall that may need attention behind other drawers so nothing is burried in the walls -They went into my redicuously unpassable attic and build a new exhaust stack for us -They not only painted the kitchen but also the adjacent walls in our back room. They had the colors matched perfectly -All moving parts are soft close and dove tailed. They use prebuilt high quality cabinets for sure. Not the bulid on site Things that blew our mind: -Added an outlet under the breakfast nook/counter overhand without us asking or charge -added an outlet to the end of our peninsula without charge -Added false cabinet doors to the ends of our peninsula and uppers and lowers where they did not but up against a wall with out charge -Free lazy susans in two cabinets -Awesome spice pull out!! -Put in a new heavy duty (not flimsy) sink with garbage disposal, fuacet, soap dispenser (many styles of sink and faucet to choose) -used all new hoses to reinstall our dishwasher -made recessed lighting dimable no charge! -put metal edge on all backsplash not butting up against a wall (who does that? such attention to detail!) -we needed a wall built out as old uppers were recessed, they did that at no extra cost (try that with a 2 guys and a truck contractors) -offered to drill extra holes in the coutner for a reverse osmossis system. We did not think about it, their guys just offered to do it! Summary: It has been a couple months and everytime wife, kids or I go into the kitchen we always say something like holly sh*t this is nice. Zero flaws, zero hassel, zero bull sh*t from the company. AND all up to code with a permit! read more

I called to schedule an appointment, woman on the phone said someone would call me right away. 2 days later I received a call while at work and nobody left a message just a missed call. I called back and left a message stating I had scheduled an appointment to have someone come out and give an estimate for a kitchen remodel. 3 weeks later nobody has called me since. What kind of customer service is this? You don't leave a message when calling people , then you don't call back? I've chosen another contractor to demo and remodel . Based on their non reliable way of doing business I can only imagine their work is just the same. read more

We remodeled our kitchen about 22 years ago using an independent contractor who worked with us throughout the job, and we were happy with the result. Unfortunately, when we decided to update the cabinets and sink and get new appliances last year, he was no longer in business. Other contractors were hard to find after almost 2 years of COVID, but Kitchen Fantastic said they were available. We thought their price was a bit high, $54K for a kitchen refresh, but they talked about their quality, and we didn't have a lot of options. So we signed a contract with them... big mistake. We've worked with a few contractors over the years on our house. Our experience with Kitchen Fantastic was the worst experience we have ever had. They kept saying we were "picky" because we had problems with things, like: - Not protecting the existing hardwood floor like we'd requested, until after I pointed it out. - Not placing a catch basin under old dripping faucets, or maybe just fixing the leak. (On day #1, I had to place a Tupperware bowl under the dripping old faucets that was soaking the sub-floor. They provided a larger bucket that I had to keep emptying until day #19.) - Piling all the old cabinets and debris in our driveway instead of getting a dumpster, and then leaving a pile of glass, nails, and screws in the street after the cabinets were hauled away. - The work crew not cleaning up at the end of the day, and not taking away garbage. We were living with large bags of garbage that were not removed until Day #31. Following which, 3 new bags of garbage accumulated and were not removed until Day #47 - Sections of old wallpaper that were covered with spackle instead of being removed. (I sponged off the spackle and removed the old wallpaper myself. - Installing cabinet sections that were a actually different color of grey from the rest of the cabinets - A sheet rock ceiling patch not installed flush (proud by about 1/4" - and then "fixed" with thick plaster resulting in a ceiling that is no longer flat) Those are only some of the problems we saw. (After the day-1 demo I started keeping a diary and taking pictures of everything.) From the demo to the final inspection, the job ran 126 days. On day #23 I actually sat down with the co-owner and asked what it would cost to just leave things as-is and walk away. It would have been a financial loss for me, but I was considering it until he promised they could do better work and would do a good job finishing things. The work was generally sloppy, communications where almost nonexistent, and there are still issues that I will have to resolve going forward, because I don't believe they can resolve them without possibly causing further problems. At first glance our kitchen looks pretty good now, until you notice the gaps around the ceiling lights, the floor molding that doesn't run in line with the cabinets, and of other details that just look sloppy. Not the quality job we'd hoped for for $54K. read more

Fantastic!! John and Bruce are the best. They were very good listeners when it came to my project and what I wanted to do, and offered me great advice on my project. It felt like they knew exactly what I wanted and cared if I was satisfied. We tried calling other kitchen pros but they just wanted to rush the order or didn't bother to listen to what I had to say. These guys rock! They were accommodating and helpful, didn't seem in a rush and were so friendly . A true five star company! Definitely recommend them. read more

Recently, Kitchen Fantastic remodeled our main bathroom. We couldn't be happier with the results of the project. Johnny, whom we worked with a few years ago for our kitchen remodel, was very attentive to our ideas and preferences, and he provided us with an excellent bathroom re-design. Kitchen fantastic is by far the best in Bay Area. They were very professional and made sure they went above and beyond in their service. My kitchen looks gorgeous and I'm waiting for the final touch ups as panels r supposed to be installed this week...then It's gonna turn out one of the best modern kitchen in Bay Area!!! I'm late in submitting this review because we wanted to be in the kitchen for a while and make sure everything worked. Kitchen Fantastic listened to my wishes and was also able to give me great guidance because they have so many items to choose from at every turn. John and Bruce were extremely professional but Ashton (project manager) was our lifeline whenever we had questions or needed help. We had one hiccup because there was a misunderstanding in the type of range we wanted (dual oven as opposed to dual function). It was my misunderstanding when I signed the contract so we have adapted. The financing worked out exactly as they said too. The kitchen looks beautiful. I hope to use them for a bathroom someday. read more

We decided to contract with kitchen Fantastic after meeting with several contractors for our major kitchen renovation. They represented everything that we were striving to find in a contractor- they were knowledgeable, willing to listen to what we wanted and to work with us on a budget. Prior to the start of the project, we visited the design center and had an opportunity to look at all the options out there- it was incredible! Our dream kitchen was designed with the guidance of a professional designer who was most helpful and made us understand the importance of a functional kitchen- it was most enlightening. Soon after that, our project began, and it was reassuring to hear from the Project Manager on a weekly basis with updates. The building crew was punctual, did frequent cleaning of the work area and did an incredible job with the quality of each task. What I really appreciated was that they would answer our questions and would check in with us. Their dedication and commitment to the project was commendable, I would highly recommend Kitchen Fantastic to anyone who is looking for guidance, vision, commitment, professionalism, and overall, the deliverance of a timely project. For all of u out there, indulging in remodeling & renovation, or even brand new construction, I definitely suggest you visit Kitchen Fantastic, before finalizing your plans. Shout out to Bryce & Ashton. Patient, courteous, knowledgeable . I called them 3 years ago but I was not ready. Called them this year in Jan and I told them I am not really ready but I still need their input. They showed up. Finally this week, we met for the final time before my floor plans hit the city counter. They had amazing ideas, practical suggestions. Our long journey begins now. We've been in our new (gorgeous) kitchen now since March. I've waited to write my review, though, because several problems arose during and after the remodel that have left me unable to enthusiastically recommend Kitchen Fantastic. First, though, the good things: Bryce is amazing, and his ability to show me options, work easily with me on every step of the decision-making process made it really enjoyable. (He had no trouble creating the plans for the remodel, using the software with which they lay out the new room. This is an amazing experience, and it makes the entire remodel feel real before anything has been purchased, demo'ed, or installed.) He was patient, had great suggestions and opinions, and balanced his experience with my wishes. But once everything was chosen and decided, and the contract was written, Bryce was gone from the picture. When the demo and remodel began, it all went well. I worked easily with the employees who did each step of the process. Anyone working on the actual remodel was easily reached if a question arose or any problem seemed unclear. What I gradually realized is that, aside from this being my first experience in this sort of project and that I needed to have a degree of trust in the company I had hired, the subs know what they are doing. The problem is that the subs are employed by KF, which while it's great for consistency and KF's ability to coordinate many projects, when a problem arises, they can give me their opinions but cannot actually do anything against the company that pays their wages. So to the problems... We had almost no problems until near the end. The concrete tiles I had asked to use on the floor were unfamiliar to the KF people, and while they were quite accommodating to go with my choice, their tilers didn't know what needs to be done (or not done) with that sort of tile. I have since found that many tilers know about concrete tiles, but it's not a standard choice, so is somewhat unfamiliar. The tilers finished up the kitchen on the last day by "sealing" the concrete. Unfortunately, the sealer they used was not correct. In a few days, we had a dirty-looking floor because the sealant had not worked. Weeks passed before we had an answer for what went wrong. Months passed before we had a solution that truly worked. The end of that story is that we got the floor fixed because I brought in someone who had done concrete polishing for me on a different project, and he did as good a job as could be done under the circumstances. I still have a large hole to repair with epoxy, right in the middle of the floor. And I realized that they had not finished out the kickplate under the sink. Over several months, I got the problem known, but Ashton, while always polite, was not doing much unless I prodded him. When that work was finally done, it was supposed to happen the day before Thanksgiving, and even that didn't work. So picture me, in my kitchen, getting ready to entertain 18 people, on Thanksgiving morning, with fellas there to do the last kickplate install. I would never have said NO because I wanted it to be done. But it was just one more frustrating experience that I was ready to bring to an end. And here's the kicker: the men who came to do this work were not KF employees but subs that KF had hired to come in and finish this thing. So...my suggestions if you're going with KF. 1. Work closely with Bryce and make sure you are choosing from options that he shows you, rather than suggesting something outside their experience. 2. Write out that last check only AFTER you have someone with you who can inspect the entire project to be sure that it's finished, and done correctly (unless you are experienced enough to do this yourself). Don't give them the last payment until a week has passed, so that you can be sure things are all working and that there are no details that have been overlooked. I've learned and learned again throughout this experience. I love my new kitchen. But if I knew what I know now, I could have done this in a way that would have been much less frustrating. And I wouldn't have gone with Kitchen Fantastic. read more

Cabinets, counter tops, floors, backsplash this place does it all! We had a flood from a dishwasher while on vacation and it destroyed most of our base cabinets and floors. Because insurance was only willing to cover the affected areas from the water damage we had to get bids for only those items but wanted to redo the whole kitchen since we were having to do so much work. Kitchen Fantastic was able to give us separate bids for the project and worked with our adjuster directly to make sure we got what we deserved! The new cabinets they installed are beautiful and the finish of the countertop and backsplash is amazing ! My husband and I are so thankful to have found the people over at Kitchen Fantastic they really came through in a stressful situation. read more

My friend Lana recommended I get a Estimate from Kitchen Fantastic, since her mother used them for a remodel. Originally I thought I had already got an estimate from them before but apparently I didn't. I was put in touch with John and Bryce. John was the one to come discuss my project with me, he was amazing and made several recommendations that I didn't even think about. I really felt he knew the industry well by his level of expertise. I requested a very modern look, with white shaker cabinets and a quartz counter. After i got they're quote I decided to go with Kitchen Fantastic. My My project just wrapped up and I couldn't be happier. Everything was finished in three weeks literally. My countertops are beautiful and I even got new appliances. John is the most amazing person. He is honest and extremely helpful. My wife and I started a remodel project and got quotes from several other companies.
