John's Painting was selected by the new property manager. He talked a good game about how experienced he was. He seemed confident in the work he was being paid to do. I doubted his experience in painting over wallpaper and suggested stripping it first. He assured me he know what he was doing. He did not. He was back two weeks later to do the job correctly. The first time he left so many paint drips on the kitchen counters and floors it was almost laughable. The second visit this past week left fewer paint spatters, but he left a roller and a roller cover in my kitchen sink! Both were full of paint! There have to be other painters out there. If your property manager wants you to hire John's Painting to prepare your largest asset for rental, please ask your property manager to find another painter. read more

Total NIGHTMARE! Painted Home Wrong Color 3 Times, Ruined Carpet, Sloppy Work and Paint is Peeling off! Painted the interior the wrong color three times and I had to catch it. Used a crew of untrained painters who did sloppy work. Used the wrong type of paint on top of the paint already on the doors, trim and baseboards so the paint John put on is literally peeling off. Ruined the carpet in 3 rooms. I have had 3 professional patients look at John's work and they have said it will cost MORE to sand and paint the doors, trim and baseboards than to just replace them and paint them! I am filing a damages claim against John as he has not returned to fix the problems. Further I have submitted a report to the CA Contractors Board. John acts respectful and professional at first. Once there were problems he was a nightmare. I have tried to work this out with him. Our agreement was he was going to come back and paint the interior the correct color and fix the problems. In over a month he has not returned emails or phone calls. Stay away!!! Grossly unprofessional. read more

John painted the interior walls and kitchen cabinets of my 1625 sq ft townhouse. My realtor highly recommended him because he does great work at reasonable prices. He did an excellent job and my wife and I are very satisfied with his vision, timely execution, attention to detail, and customer service. Vision: My wife and I are first time home buyers and had no clue about paint colors when we started our research. We had done our own research but were overwhelmed and didn't have a clear vision of what we're looking for. John consulted with us and provided some really solid recommendations to achieve the modern, clean, and elegant look we wanted to achieve. Project Schedule: My wife and I had a tight 5-day window when we needed the painting to be completed so that we could move in according to our moving plan. John performed the painting on time. Attention to Detail: Overall, John and his team were very meticulous and did a great job. The walls and cabinets had very uniform paint coverage so everything looks great. They patched every nail hole I had asked to hide. They event painted a bathroom cabinet that I hadn't explicitly asked to be painted. I was happy about this because the cabinet was old and faded but I wasn't willing to spend extra money to have the guest bathroom cabinet painted. John understood the vision that my wife and I had so he took the liberty to paint it without charging us. Customer Service: John installed new kitchen cabinet pulls and knobs for us. Honestly, his guys installed a few of them incorrectly, leaving them a little slanted. When I brought up the issue, he was totally on my side and spent a good hour aligning the knobs until I was satisfied. I appreciate a business who wants to make me happy. When I was in the process of installing new bathroom light fixtures to replace the old ones, I ran into two 2-3" holes in the dry wall adjacent to the mounting brackets. When I told John about it, he said he would patch these holes. He came back and patched them up in an hour. Great work! I can't even tell there were holes there before. John was referred to me by my real estate agent, Annie Zhao. I bought a new home in West San Jose, which John took very good care of. I hired John to completely repaint the inside as well as the outside of the house. The inside was chosen to be different shades of white, and the outside, based on John's recommendation, is repainted to updated modern colors of gray/white/green. We are absolutely elated by John's work as the house is given fresh life after the paint and looks wonderful. John is extremely courteous and professional throughout our engagements with him. I would highly recommend John to take good care of all painting jobs. What I like about John is also about his fair attitude regarding pre-payment as contractor. John is very reasonable in asking only for minimum pre-payment and collects the bulk of the payments after a satisfactory job. I think this is respectable of him as a responsible contractor. Here's the summary of my review on John's Painting. - John came out to my unit and gave an estimate. Official quote turn around was 48 hours. - Quote received in 48 hours and locked in the final quote the following day. This job would take 2 days to complete. - The painting supposed to take place on a Monday (2 weeks after quote was locked-in) but I was told it will be delay by one day (Tuesday). Then, on Tuesday morning I got a call from John telling me that he was unable to start this job due to the underestimated quote. - I needed my place painted prior moving in and already had movers scheduled on Saturday of the same week. I had no choice but to find other painter. - I would not recommend John's Painting due to its poor business practice. read more

We are very glad to have John paint our ceiling. He is always on time and very responsive to all our questions. We added a few recessive lights before the painting. To our surprise, the electrician drilled lots of big holes in the ceiling and the walls. We were very worried about it, but John took care of them very well. After the painting, we almost can't tell where the holes are. There are also many holes on the wall, where we did not plan to paint. However, John covered them up perfectly without extra charge. I was very disappointed with his lack of professionalism, ethics and quality of work. e appears very professional at first but the moment he has your business things quickly change. After 3 years, I called John again for painting my new house. This time the project is bigger. We were considering replace kitchen cabinet or just re-finish(re-paint) the cabinets. John came and gave us much advices also a referral house which he just finished refinishing kitchen cabinet. We call the owner and visited the kitchen. It looked good so we decided to repaint. Besides, the project also includes repaint 7 rooms, refinish bath room vanity of master bedroom and stair rail. 2nd meet was color selection, John's partner Tony came and brought all colors we requested and patiently test all paints in all rooms (7 rooms). Tony also gave us much valuable advices. 3rd meet was the work started, they finished the painting in a week, no delay. During the work, like last time they did in my old condo: took all plug off, covered all floor, typed edges. very professional. After the work, we found some skirt boards were missing and Tony came back to finish them in one day. 5 Stars !! read more
