Tbh this was my first time ordering from here I ordered angel hair chicken Alfredo ($20 and some change) I get home and there's no Alfredo sauce it's literally butter and melted parm cheese.. not creamy what so ever.. luckily I had Alfredo sauce at home and added that to it along w garlic seasoning! I have been eating pizza from John's since I was a young boy. I LOVE their crumbled sausage. Their pizza is different than texture and taste compared to most of the places around. I love the texture. The pieces are juicy and flavorful. The spinach on their pizza is the BEST in the area. Totally flavorful and delicious. I've never had rude service, and if they ever made a mistake they fix it! This place promised to deliver, so I ventured there to check their flair. What I ordered: Family size cheese lovers pie with half spinach, tomatoes, light garlic, and onions. Fettucini Alfredo - comes with salad and garlic bread Homemade cheese sticks Pizza was a little less then decent - even with the 4 cheeses and extra toppings tasted bland - Did like the texture of the crust. Hated that I ordered that big size though as I see it in the trash in a few days Pasta just tasted like butter. The 3 year old liked it, however the 12 year old couldn't finish his portion saying that it felt and tasted like he gobbled down a stick of butter. Salad was salad though the dressings (creamy garlic and Italian) were sweet Cheese sticks were the best thing ordered and it was agreed by kids and husband that they tasted a little like fish. All the ingredients seem to be fine, not great, just fine. It's just an odd pizza. It sort of reminds me of a pizza that was made by a person that never tasted a pizza but saw one before in a picture. It looks pretty much like a pizza, sort of. But the taste is just odd. Don't get me wrong... I believe the ingredient are of fine enough quality. It's just that it's not a very authentic tasting pizza. After reading some of the negative reviews I'd like to add mine. Just had a family size sausage/mushroom and it tasted GREAT. Also got a couple beefs which is one of the best beef sandwiches in NW Indiana hands down!!! I drive almost 25 minutes one way from Crown Point to pick up from John's and it's well worth it! I've been eating John's pizza for 50 yrs and still think it's one of the top pizza's in Da Region along with Barton's, Romano's, Langel's, Villa's, Dante's(Munster)/House of Pizza(Hammond). Aurelio's(Schererville/Hammond). Granted there's some runner ups and I'm probably forgetting one or two but I these are the best! read more

You just lost a customer. Spent $43 on dinner. Got all the way home (20 minutes) to find the antipasto salad had no dressing in the bag. I called to ask for a refund and was told that I could come back or I can get double the dressing next time -- gee thanks!! No apology. No trying to make it right. Wanted to like this place but can't believe all the positive reviews. Went there late on a Sat a few months ago. Place is tiny, like 1 or 2 booths. Only employees present were what appeared to be a Mom sitting in the booth and her son cooking. Food was HEINOUS. Two pasta dishes w/red sauce were basically inedible, and what you could force down would give you heartburn in 5 minutes. Small iceberg lettuce salad of the worst kind, "garlic bread" that appeared to be some low cost store bought bread that was thrown on the grill dusted with some "seasoning". Hopefully this is the right John's pizza I'm writing this review about because its been a while and I know there are a couple of locations. However, if this is the one stay away from this place. Their pizza is not only terrible but they cut it in these funky 1 inch breadstick style strips. Their pizza is less appetizing than Little Caesers! Not only does their pizza suck so does their appetizers. Goes to show you don't be fooled by pictures. When I moved out to Griffith, IN at The Mansards Apartments, I absolutely needed to find a quality pizza place because I LOVE PIZZA and WINGS! This pizzeria is delicious! They have a crumble sausage that covers the entire pizza instead of chunks that fall off leaving you without any toppings on that bite and they cut the pizza in log skinny pieces so it is really easy to handle. Delivery is timely and staff friendly. BEST PIZZA IN GRIFFITH FOR SURE!! Dining area is small but the business seems to be carry out or delivery so there is not much frill in the couple of booths they have. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Good food does not matter if the customer service is terrible...and it is. I called this John's Pizzeria to place an order. The woman on the phone asked if I could hold for a minute and I said sure. She left me on hold for over 5 all the while I could here her complaining about customers who pay with credit cards instead of cash! I hung up and called back and explained what had just happened. The woman, won turned out to be the OWNER, did not care. Despite my better judgement, I placed my order. I was told the it would be "an hour to an hour fifteen" before the food to arrive. Fast forward to over an hour and a half later and our order is not delivered. I call John's again and a man answers who apologizes and says they have been running slow. I ask for the manager and I am once again talking to the female owner who tells me that I wrong about the time frame. She claimed she said it was an hour and a half wait! I told her she was wrong but she would not and did not care. She even hung up on me! This is how an OWNER TREATS A CUSTOMER! Needless to say, we never got our food. I will never order from here again! If the owner is that rude, I don't need to spend my money there. Other people, especially, people who want delivery should proceed with caution. I live in Phoenix, AZ and cannot find a delicious pizza like John's Pizzeria in Griffith, IN. The sausage they use is excellent and I wonder if I can have a frozen pizza delivered to my home out here. I have been to many states and to many different pizzerias here in Scottsdale, and Phoenix and nothing to this day tastes as delicious as John's. I've been a customer of John's since they were in Cal City for one simple reason, the best pie in the region. I now order from Griffith (Large sausage double cheese) and they have kept the tradition alive, though I do miss the big dining room (and beer) from the Cal City location. Griffith on the other hand is basically take out or deliver, I have heard they have a small dining room but my kids pick it up or, I have it delivered these days so I don't even know. Because expectations differ greatly when talking Pizza I'll describe my perfect pie. First and foremost is the crust, I want a good blend of chew and crunch not a too thin or too thick (5 stars here). I want a tasty sauce too, not too strong on the garlic or red pepper please and not so much that it oozes out and makes a mess, just enough to dress the crust (5 stars). Then the cheese I order double and it's great that way, but should I have to? (4 stars here). Now the toppings, My usual is sausage because the rest of the family likes it that way (crumbled but you can order chunky if that's your thing). I personally would order it with Mushrooms, Green Peppers & Onions, for my self (5 stars). I would like to comment on the rest of the menu but I really can't, I'm a simple guy and I stick with what I like for about 25 years now, and it's great to know some things are a constant.
