In a secluded, quiet area - went for dinner with girl friends to catch up and was quickly seated and had great service. I only had the chicken wings so I can't speak to the other food but I know there were no complaints made. Sat at the bar, bartender was so friendly. Food is great, had the brisket egg rolls, generous portion. Husband had the Italian hoagie and it was so good. It's really hard to find a good hoagie around here so we can't wait to go back and get it again. I got the climbers bowl with salmon, it was nice, the salmon was really good. They have tasty mocktails which I appreciate. We had been here when it was the old place and didn't have a good experience so it was nice to see how great they are doing now. I left a review of this place the other day after getting takeout. It was not a favorable review because I did not have a favorable experience. You can truly always tell someone's true character (or in this case, the business character) by the way they respond to genuine criticism. The owner, Kelli, did not respond well to my feedback, my opinion and my criticism about a hygiene related incident (hair in my fries). She decided that essentially calling me a liar was the correct approach. So to help Kelli understand exactly how things unfolded, I will recount my experience for her again as to help her understand truly that her staff made a mistake and calling paying customers liars is literally never the correct approach. Got takeout early in the day. It was not busy. Following hygiene protocols should not have been an issue. Picked up my food. Did not check it immediately before leaving (my mistake, should not have trusted them as I did). Arrived at my destination. Took out the clear box worth food in it from the bag. Noticed through the clear plastic top that avocado was missing. Got distracted by a task, left the food still in container and closed. Gave them a call, asked for a refund on avocado since it was missing. They obliged. Hung up. Went back to actually eat my food. Opened the container at this point. Looked down. Noticed immediately upon opening the container that a hair was in the French fries. At that moment, someone came into my room and needed to discuss something with me. I closed the container and talked to her. Then she left a bit later and I had a chance to call the restaurant back. I did and Kelli gave me a refund as she literally should for inedible food that has been contaminated. I left the previous review and then a bit later noticed Kelli commented on it and decided her very best approach to appropriate customer service was to call me a liar. Which, I understand actually (although it's definitely not an honest business practice) because having customers find human hair in their food is NOT a good look for your restaurant so calling them a liar is definitely one way to deflect and attempt to discredit me. I called back a third time after that to discuss her concerns and the review and her staff told me she was not available. So, here we are. Second review & still bothered by her response to my criticism. She clearly feels providing a refund should be enough to silence me. She stated her staff all wear hats in an effort to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Hats can help but obviously are not an iron proof way to prevent such mistakes and issues. It's also important to note that I actually did feel fairly treated in how the refund was handled. I still felt compelled to leave a review though and want to be sure she realizes that feeling fairly treated and leaving an honest review of what actually happened and my experience are not mutually exclusive experiences. Both can be true at the same time. I did not feel fairly treated by her response to my criticism though here on Yelp. It felt as if Kelli wanted to insinuate I was making this all up. Truly a bizarre thing to insinuate and it comes off as mentally inflexible and high handed. As if such a thing could literally never happen in HER restaurant. Best thing to do at this point for her would be to take the L & move on and do better in the kitchen with hygiene or wear hairnets. Even better thing to do would be to learn to accept criticism and learn from it and find ways to overcome such issues in her establishment in the future as to not lose a paying customer and then worse, piss them off driving them to leave further unfavorable reviews. So if you want to eat hairy French fries and be called a liar for not enjoying it, then by all means... visit John's Table. Oh and one more thing, you forgot the side of ranch too (which you also charged for). read more

I really wanted to like this place, but it just didn't hit on all cylinders. To be fair, we only came for drinks, an appetizer and dessert. The drinks were excellent - I had the Yuzu Collin's and it did not disappoint. The guacamole and queso was good, but nothing super special. We also ordered the peach cobbler and not only was it small, it just didn't taste good at all. There seemed to be cayenne pepper on top of the ice cream and the peaches were a black/purple color. The service was decent and the restaurant itself was nice inside. We might come back for a full meal at some point, but this experience left a lot to be desired. read more

Stopped in for lunch today was meant by a very friendly server took us to a table order 2 beers. my wife ordered aThai salad and I had a Ruben. My sandwich was terrible it was very salty. I had lunch here a few days ago with a girlfriend. I had the Thai salad, no protein. It could have used a little more lettuce to go with the dressing but it was outstanding. And the dressing, oh boy, it is so good you could almost drink it straight. Seriously, it's delicious. The reason I am not giving 5 stars has nothing to do with the food but with the oppressive heat inside. It was too hot to sit outside as it was 95 degrees so we wanted to sit inside with AC. Well their garage doors were open to the patio so if the AC was running, you certainly couldn't feel it where we were sitting. It was unpleasantly hot. If I wanted to sit in 95 degree heat, I would have asked to sit outside. I would suggest closing the doors during these hot days of summer so people can have a great meal without sweating into their food. read more

Stopped here on our way home from the airport since we were starving after our flight. Parking was difficult. I guess the climbing gym next door was super crowded. Hostess was not overly friendly but the bartender/server was great (we sat at a bar table). Had a hard time deciding what to order because of so many great looking choices. Husband got the falafel bowl, and I got the fried chicken sandwich with fries. Both were excellent (extra love for the hand cut fries) however it took over half an hour to get two entrees. They were crowded but only half the restaurant was even open. Clearly they were understaffed in the kitchen. No one apologized for the wait. We will give them another chance because we did enjoy our food and the table service. read more

We actually loved the food so much that we couldn't think of a better place to take my sister and Her husband. For dinner I had the bistro burger, fries and pear cider. Cooked to perfection and so so tasty. We finished with the peach cobbler. Super tiny so don't think about sharing. Very good though. All around- amazing!!!!! We spent two weeks in Lafayette and hit up John's Table twice. Nice variety of food on the menu for the picky eaters, and everyone enjoyed everything both times.
