Absolutely Horrible Service! As a new patient I called and made an appointment. Gave my insurance information and everything. Was experiencing serious issues with my eyesight so she scheduled me right away. I get to my appointment at 8 am as indicated. The doors were locked. They opened the office after 8 am with quite a few people waiting at the door. The person assisting told me there was no appointment for me. There was an account started but nothing scheduled. She called the person who created the account and her reply was "I don't know I talk to so many people". She could not fit me in until 2 weeks. I should have known something was up when I didn't receive a confirmation. What incompetence and poor customer service. read more

The doctors I saw took time to explain things. They saw me quickly for an emergency.

Really good and professional practice. Saw me within 5 minutes of my appt. Took their time with exam, answered my questions completely and thoroughly. With my vision benefits the price for glasses was reasonable. Will return and I recommend Johnson Optometric to anyone. read more

This company is horrible at communicating...They completed our exam and then decided to inform us that our insurance had changed and the charges needed to be paid then and there. They also didnt cover contact lenses, if we needed eyeglasses then we needed to schedule a different eye exam to get that lense prescription as it is different from contacts. Which in turn I would have to pay for another exam visit. Then I call to speak to the front office manager and she can not fully understand that I was complaining about communication NOT pricing. She is probably reading this and still not understanding it. You M-U-S-T MUST communicate to your customers! You cannot expect a customer to come in for an eye appointment and leave with a new car...(double standards people).... read more

I've been going here for over 10 years. I average every 2 years for correction changes. I've now become so incredibly put off with the juvenile home made marketing video blasts that I just can't do it any more. I expect my doctors to be professional... not filming mock rap parodies. I also don't expect the doctor to sit on the checkout counter talking about how they really need to get out of there to go see some sports event they had tickets for that night when I've been looking at new frames for less than 5 minutes. I've been willing to overlook the incredible hypocrisy of Bibles all over the waiting room compared to the behavior of the doctor. Everyone practices faith differently and clearly they are fine with coming off as arrogant and dismissive, placing sports tickets over patient comfort. Words of advice: schedule patient visits to end earlier and don't suggest they could come back to choose frames. Don't put Bibles all over the place. Don't create moronic promotional material. Attempt any level of customer service for fittings so your patients don't have to correct the fit on their own. Conversely, I guess it's good you did. It gave me the opportunity to see who you really are, make an informed choice, and finally look elsewhere. Maybe it draws the exact patient base you're looking for. read more

Absolute BAD business. Called to set up an appointment after asking if they accept my insurance, of course they said yes. Waste 2 hours on an eye exam to be told that I had to come back (not even knowing why). A few days later, get a bill for $151.00 and was told it was for a contact fitting that insurances do not cover. (All the years I have been wearing contacts, never paid for a contact fitting!) I go back a month later, to get my eyes re-looked at and order contacts. Of course insurance doesn't cover contacts so I have to pay $260.00. A few days later, I get a call saying they don't even take my eye insurance and now the eye exam is not covered...so another 186.00$ bill. So you mean to tell me that you originally got a quote from my insurance company, knowing that they could charge me $186.00 for an eye exam and then all of a sudden to don't accept it.If I wanted to pay over $600 for an eye exam and contact lenses I wouldn't even pay for insurance. After I call and tell her that is ridiculous that the doctors office and the insurance company made this mistake, I was then told they just started to accept my insurance 4 days before my 2nd visit and instead of running my contacts through the insurance...they had me pay $260.00 out of pocket. Completely ridiculous!! I feel like I got scammed. Never go back and would not recommend to anyone!!!! read more

My husband and I are new patients and were very impressed with the care we got from the front office - the assistants, and Dr. Martin. We are very happy we found this place so close to home and not having to drive to Cary. The facility is very clean - we could not be happier with both of our experiences! read more

Over the years I had been to several optometrists, but I am so thankful that I have been a patient at their practice for almost 18 years. I can't rave enough about Dr. Hammond. He was skillful enough to recognize I had a convergence issue with my eyes and if not addressed immediately with therapy I would have serious consequences. I totally trust my eye care to him. Dr. Hammond is professional, friendly, and caring. The office staff is always friendly and helpful. I also highly recommend the opticians on staff there. I have been seeing Dr. Hammond here for years for my basic eye exams. He is detailed, professional and personable. I never feel like just another patient. Recently, I developed an abscess of my right eye. The staff got me in to see Dr. Hammond that same day. Dr. Hammond took care of my eye and even sent me to an associate of his to ensure all options for treating the abscess were covered. I appreciate his thoroughness. The staff is always friendly and professional. I won't go anywhere else. I highly recommend Dr. Hammond and this practice. read more

Awful was a faithful patient for many years. Was refused my eyeglass prescription. I had to call the Optometric medical board & then threaten to place a formal complaint with them to get my Rx. Do not even think about speaking with a office manager. That is not going to happen. Testing I needed to have done for other medical issues were not done & my Rx was not even correct. And to top it off they told me I was going to have to be seen every 3 moths due to the plaquenil I am on for a autoimmune disorder. That's a $50 co pay plus the ins payments they get. So when I go to the new eye doctor & speak to my rheumatologist I only need to be seen ONCE a year! Sounds to me like this office I once loved that USE to be concerned about patient care is no longer concerned about anything except MONEY. read more

These people charge way to much, and it does not quit. After you spend several hundred on a pair of glasses for the next several months you will be getting more bills for stuff that any place else would have included. Save yourself a lot of money and stay away from here, I know I will never go back. read more

I agree with becky's staement. These peopele cannot fully explain the bill to you. I end up paying more than $200 for a rountine eye exam. Where my spouce went to EYE care associates and got a complete eye exam for less than #100 with new glasses.These people charged for a contact exam and we did not even purchase the contacts. This exam was supposed to be covered under insurance. The problem I see with the billing and insurance staff is that they do not communicate what is covered and not covered. Everything that was done on my eye exam was not covered by my insurance except the $5 copay for the eye exam. Contacts were not coverd. at least the ones they tried to sell us. Come to find out they had contacts there that the insurance did cover. The staff that commmunicates the issues and billing makes you feel like you don/t know what you are talking about. When they can't even explane the bill to me themselves !!!!! These people need help in talking to their customers. I sure do like Dr Johnson but i cannot put up with the disrespect I recieve from his billing dept. I will take my business eleswhere. read more
