If a professional tells me they're not charging me for something that's a common practice like referrals, are there hidden charges for services they aren't telling me about? Second, why do i need to provide my medical insurance? I was told in case I come in with a medical emergency and too upset to provide medical ins info, my card would be on file. If I had a severe eye injury and I was that distraught, I'd go to the ED, not their office. Definitely not returning.

She called the person who created the account and her reply was "I don't know I talk to so many people". She could not fit me in until 2 weeks. He also uses technology that - prior to visiting his office - I hadn't seen in other optometrists' offices, like the camera that takes a big, clear photo of the inside of your eye to check for any horrifying abnormalities and to compare the overall state of their health year after year. The rest of the staff was really helpful. I had to wait a few weeks for glasses to be made, which is not unusual. I then went in and tried them on, these were $900 bifocals with all the bells and whistles, but the long-distance view was blurry. I immediately told this to the woman helping me, but she said take them home and get used to them and if they don't get better, bring them back. After a week, I went back and they gave me another exam, and the results were different from the first. After waiting another week or so, I went back again. the new glasses were fine. However, upon leaving, they handed me the old prescription and did not give me the accurate prescription. All was fine until I wanted to get a pair of prescription sunglasses from Costco. I gave them the script from Carolina Vision and waited a week. These sunglasses were for a vacation planned for the beginning of September to see Ireland. Well, when I tried the new sunglasses on , they were blurry. The optometrist at Costco tested my regular glasses and discovered the the script the I was given was the wrong script. so now i have to go on my vacation without the benefit of great sunglasses . Bottom line - Carilina Family vision looks pretty on the outside, the salespeople are professional, but behind the scenes it is a clown show .

Dr Reynolds is intelligent, thoughtful and keeps up to date on different medical issues so he can treat you properly or order tests he needs in order to stay on top of things. The office staff is great as well. They are people oriented and treat you as if you are family while there. My entire family see's Dr Reynolds and we are all very happy. Dr Stockbridge is wonderful too.

Now I need a second pair of glasses and contacted them again. I didn't have a long wait for my appointment. They take their time all the way through and were all pleasantly patient with my questions and very considerate with all my concerns. I knew a brand of frames that works well for me but there appear to be many frames to choose from and the frames fitter was knowledgeable. I frankly enjoyed my visit.

This is against a Federal law called the FTC Opthalmic Practice Rules--the Eyeglass Rule. What is most disturbing is to see elderly people receiving services here and more than likely they are not aware of this law. Without $80+ dollars this can mean the difference for affording necessary medication, food, utility bills etc.

Manager Brittany at HS wants to charge me 80 plus tax for replacement/repair and argues on the phone with me that's the best she can do. If you're thinking about going here I'd think twice. She claimed the year warranty was over. But if a merchant sells a defective frame - and I've had quite few glasses in my lifetime with never a problem- if it sellls a defective frame it should make good. His appointment was at 3:40 pm, but he was delayed because of an accident. He received a phone call at 3:43 pm in which he explained the delay, but the office woman rudely informed him "Well we're going to have to cancel if you aren't here in 2 minutes." He told her the GPS showed him arriving in 3 minutes, so she told him they could not accommodate him. Are you joking? Literally every time we've been to this office, we have sat in the waiting room and/or in the exam room for 15-30 minutes... we have been more than accommodating of the office/doctors' schedule, but they can't extend the same courtesy for someone who took time off of work after 2 months of waiting to be seen? Ridiculous.
