The place is a tiny little restaurant tucked away on a desert Road not much to see but it is definitely worth the nostalgia and history of the area. The food was delicious. We had the fish and chips. It was very reasonably priced and boy was it delicious big fat pieces of Cod deep fried perfectly. French fries were equally as good. it was a great comfort, food restaurant, and a great place to go while you're passing through for a quick snack and a cold beer. They were cooking a special that evening of prime rib, but we couldn't stay long enough for dinner. It's a great place and you feel part of history. I have been meaning to come out here for at least seven years. I saw a YouTube video that my son showed me about this place. It was a hassle to drive from Anaheim to the Salton Sea, which is why it took me so long. I came here with a couple of friends and we all had patty melts. These were highly recommended and also featured in the YouTube video that I saw 7+ years ago. One of us had fries, one had tots and I had onion rings. The sandwiches were very good. Tasty and not too greasy. All of the sides were good and my onion rings were some of the best I've had. The service was very good. There were a few people at the bar, and the bartender was also our waiter and cooked our food. I believe his name was Tony. He was very personable and ran my leftovers out to the car before we left. He had a lot of interesting facts to share about the Salton Sea area. The ambience is very interesting. It's got a kind of divey and kind of touristy atmosphere. My friend said it reminded her of the cantinas down in Baja California. There is a great view of the Salton Sea and plenty of picnic bench seating outside. Such fun and delicious lunch today. Service was outstanding. We had the chicken taco salad, beef taco salad, the Tony Burger & the social of the house - brisket sandwich. Onion rings for side. While the rings were a bit on the greasy side, they were tasty. The apple pie lacked pizzazz (crust needed to be crustier and the apples needed, idk, cinnamon? WOW! Stopped here on the way out of Borrego Springs and all four of us were happy! We ordered sandwiches, burgers, tacos and a steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was made with a huge piece of real steak! The fries were excellent as was the Sriracha sauce for the burger. Wow! This was a surprise. We took a chance and drove off the highway and it turned out to be great. I had the Cali burger, lots of avocado... sooo good. This is a great little restaurant and bar with a really interesting tale. It used to be the marina. Now it's on a very long beach out to the Salton Sea, which gets longer each day. There's domestic and import bottle beer, and some good lunch sandwiches and salads for options. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals.
