Went for mothers day. Tea: 2/6 people liked their tea. Mine reminded me of soap. It was something lavender. The berry one was a favorite, the green tea pomegranate was a full miss. Food (savory course): I told the server I was vegetarian. She told me that they would bring out extra vegetarian sandwiches, which they did not do. I was stuck there eating bread with a sliver of cucumber (too thin for a crunch) a thin swipe of cream cheese, and one to two flattened micro green sprouts in there. I was hungry and the other sandwiches looked great. Dessert 1 (scone course): Didnt recognize it. they gave us a dry lemon scone with a heck of a lot of icing on top. No cream, no butter, one factory processed jar of strawberry jam. Nothing to ease into the desserts. Dessert 2 (sweet course): All horribly sweet. Madeline was dry and had a hunk of chocolate or something on top. Not at all what I expect a Madeline to be (oven-fresh) and again too sweet. Petit fours: they somehow did this one well. Cream puff: winner. elderflower in this was excellent and it was light fluffy and fresh. Chocolate lumps: no one ate this. Macarons: too sweet. Almond one everyone but my dad hated. The purple one we thought was overly sweet without much flavor but was better than the almond. Chocolate ball with raspberry: intense flavor, pretty good, not sure what was up with the sprinkles. Honestly this is the second time I've been unimpressed, and after the staff fully disconnecting with the kitchen/customer I dont think I'll be back. read more

The cutest place for afternoon tea! I went here for a private event with some friends and it was perfect! I had their quiche and salad as the main. The cheese board was so cute and what stole the show were their pastries! Great place. Been there twice. Took my daughter there and we felt the value was very good for what you get. Environment is welcoming and cozy. There were two large parties going on when we were there. A baby shower and a young girls birthday party. Service is perfect and people working there are very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. They were willing to make modifications to our order of high tea and didn't charge for a totally fresh pot of tea when we finished ours. We didn't feel rushed at all. Highly recommend going here. We went on a storm Saturday and it was pretty full. Next to us was a gentleman with his elderly mom. So sweet. read more

Had such a fun evening at Jolie! This was my first time here but I've heard great things about their Salem location. The place is super cute and decorated beautifully. I love the pops of color! I had a more unconventional visit for a hot chocolate board vs coming for tea. Next time I will try for the tea. Us three ladies got the hot chocolate board and it was plated beautifully. Little high price $12 for a deconstructed hot chocolate but that's the fun of it. The hot chocolate was insanely sweet and no one finished it but it was creamy which we liked. The service was kind and friendly! I can't wait to come back for high tea or afternoon tea! read more

Had the prix fixe lunch with a friend and we generally enjoyed it. You come here for the ambiance - the space is open with huge windows that let in a lot of natural light and it's designed with pretty, whimiscal florals. We went on a very cold day, so it was a bit drafty. While the space is nice, the layout is confusing, and lacking wayfinding. There are several sets of doors, but only one actually opens from the outside, which is the one with the black hanging sign. Would be helpful to put signs on the locked doors that say "please use other door" with an arrow, as I tried opening the locked doors and saw several others make the same mistake when I was inside. Once you enter, there is a cafe counter area for drop in orders. I did not see signs pointing to the check in counter in the other room for reservations, and waited in the cafe line first, and ordered a hot chocolate since I waited in line, which was sadly warm, not hot, but tasted good. Things went smoother when we got seated. Large selection of teas and a lunch menu with a lot of vegetarian options. I had the ham and cheese quiche with a salad which was pretty good, and my friend had the green goddess sandwich which was loaded with greens. For dessert I had the blueberry lemon cake, and while it looked pretty, it was cold and hard, as though they just pulled it from the refrigerator, I did not finish it. The focus seems to be more on presentation over taste. I generally enjoyed my experience and am glad I tried it, but don't think I need to return. read more

My experience was rushed. The employee didn't allow me sufficient time to complete my order, which was disappointing, especially since I went there to fulfill my daughter's birthday request. And she was upset because I was not able to order the cookie and piece of cake.All Cause she just assumed I was done and was talking to someone else behind counter and walk away as she was turning the screen to me. Also seem annoyed at what I ordered. And she assumed we were to go order. Normally I be like ok whatever but this upset my daughter and it was rude. read more

This is a very nice location. The food and teas were great. However we felt that we were rushed. Although we were within our tea time allocation, and it wasn't busy at the time we were there, they were cleaning the tables around us while we were eating. They did not offer us the option to purchase any additional tea and we were presented with the bill before we were actually finished. As I mentioned it is a lovely place with a lot of potential for a very nice tea experience, but these service issues definitely detracted from our experience. read more

Went here with a group of girls for teas and yapping. We went because the book we read for bookclub was based on such setting so we wanted to celebrate because when is girl time ever a bad idea? We all got dressed up in theme. We had made a reservation weeks before and they do charge you the full amount a few days prior. Each person gets their own individual tea pot. You get to choose from a wide variety of flavors. For the food, you get a choice of cucumber tea sandwich, salmon gougere, smoked duck gougere, mini ham and brie, lemon scone, vanilla madeleine, french macarons, and a delicious pastry swan. Everything was delicious. We were 12 received 3 setups like this. There were some dietary restrictions that were honored. Overall it was very quiet in there, felt like we had the space to ourselves so it was very nice. I was extra happy about the availability of free street parking (it was a Sunday). read more

I'm sad to report that the high tea for Valentine's Day was disappointing. A shared 3 teir assortment for $47 a person is way overpriced, but beyond that, the sandwiches were very dry- not the inside, but the bread and croissants - were stale, so maybe they were prepared much too early? The tea pots held maybe 2 cups each. It's a lovely interior- we've been to many tea houses and were excited to experience this one. It's unfortunate that it's mostly style over substance here. read more
