Very rude and very discouraging, I do not want to take my little sister to such a rude and uncaring environment, never going there for a haircut. Even Great Clips has better service.

While this is at least $20 more than I've been charged at other Adveda salons (6 mos ago) , It is certainly their prerogative to charge that fee. The main issues are their business practices and a major discrepancy between the prices listed on their website ($80 and up for root touch up) and what they are actually charging. I brought this to their attention over the phone the day after the service, and the response I got, presumably from the owner, was that she didn't know where I was seeing that. I clearly reiterated that I was looking at their website, and that if the prices listed weren't current, they needed to be updated. I also did not receive a receipt at the time of service. I later requested it, and was told that it would be texted to me, but I never received it. I decided to write this review after reading another review from three years ago that mirrored my own experience--charged much higher than fees listed on the website with no receipt for service given. I am now feeling a bit dubious about the way they do business, and suspect that there might be different prices for the same service, for different people. I will acknowledge that I neglected to verify the fee when I made the appointment, which is something I always typically do. I also waited for a half hour past my appointment to be seen (without explanation or acknowledgment of the delay) but I have also experienced this at another local aveda salon. My appointment was almost 1 month ago, and as of today the website information remains the same.

My hair is short, and when she cuts it is lays well, and as it grows out it continues to look nice. A sign of a good cut. She's sweet and kind, and does a great job. I only get a cut, not a shampoo and cut. And I feel she is very reasonable. The salon is nice, clean and Pleasant to be in. Parking if not available in the street, there is a nice size parking lot around the corner with a short walk. They also have coffee or water for you.

Plus my friends daughter is going to school hair & figured since I needed my hair cut anyways I might as well let her do it so she can learn. I made my appointment a few weeks in advanced for a Saturday that my friends daughter would be there, I also requested her by name to make sure I got her. Now I will tell you right off the bat, don't expect this to be an in and out process. You have to remember that these are students learning their craft so they are not just going to cut your hair on the fly. They have instructors at the facility that watch & help the students. The students are able to ask questions and ask for help from their instructor so that they do things correctly (they don't want to send you home with a mohawk unless of course that was the cut you asked for). And when they are done the instructor has to sign off on it so to speak. If you like any of the products that they use on your hair, they sell them there so you don't have try and find it a a local store. Can't beat $10 for a shampoo, conditioning, cut & style. So even if you don't know anyone attending school at Lytle's you're helping new stylists, manicurists, estheticians, etc, by scheduling a cut, color, manicure, etc., and letting them practice what they've learned under the guidance of instructors.
