I went here after searching far and wide for brow and lash tinting. This place changed my life. Not only did I get a great wax job on my brows but I got the tinting done on my brows and lashes and it looks so good! I have blonde / white eyelashes and eyebrows before the tinting I looked so pale and awful without makeup, now I look like I have makeup on 24/7 I am never going back. tinting addict for life right here. Rabia and her staff are amazing. Not only are their services excellent, the staff is amazing. Rabia has created a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere at Lotus. Offering tea, water and cookies while waiting is a welcoming touch. The shop is light, airy, comforting and unlike so many other day spas, NOT crowded with the usual assortment of commercial wares for sale. She has a small tasteful display, and beautiful artwork instead. The spaces set up for services are not your usual salon style. Instead, there is a small bar up front for makeup work, and private areas screened from the rest of the shop creating a warm welcoming safe space. (I hate feeling like I am on display when I have wax or dye paste on my brows, lol). Rabia and her staff are kind, quiet, and knowledgeable. I learned a great deal about what I was doing both right and wrong with my makeup. Truly a wonderful experience. How did we find them? Serendipity. We found Lotus Many years ago when we first went to Two Women Doing Hair right next door. The owner of Two Women went next door to Lotus and brought Rabin back to meet us when we asked about brows. Decided to treat myself and pamper my skin in these harsh winter months. I got the signature facial with Rabia. It was so relaxing. She used natural and local products and they didn't try to sell me any products afterwards which was a nice change from other salons. The ladies here are so friendly. I came in here last Friday for a peel. It was my first treatment/facial ever and I was so excited. Julie was amazing. I was so comfortable and relaxed with her, it felt like I had been coming here for all my life, rather than my first time. Afterwards I was so relaxed, I went home and took a nap. It just seemed appropriate! One thing I will say though - if you go in to get a quick peel, you should probably follow up within the week with a facial or extractions; peels seem to bring what's underneath to the surface. I came to LBB as a walk in, with the expectation that I was going to be turned away on such short notice. Rabia could not have been more accomodating and sweet. She set me up for an appointment an hour later. We discussed my skin and decided on a facial/peel. Rabia is gentle (both in demeanor and extractions) and great at letting me know what she was doing. Love this place; they fit me in no problem for a walk-in brow wax and were so friendly and helpful. I mentioned my allergy to lavender and they worked around it fine, but my only reason for the star knock-off is the fact that the place is positively swimming in lavender potpourri and candles and products. The second I walked in the door I had a migraine. I very much appreciated them accommodating me to keep it off my skin and on such short notice --and she did a beautiful job-- but unfortunately I will not be back because I can't tolerate the smell inside. read more

Small and lovely. Julie has brought my skin back from the depths of hell and made me feel 29 not 15. They really listen to you and your needs and customize skin care options for everyone. They use a great line from France called Phyt's: it is a totally organic line of skin care that can be pretty expensive, but will do what it says it does. They sell a great line of organic mineral makeup called Afterglow. A custom facial with glycolic peel runs me $70 and takes about an hour. They have a frequent customer card and for every 5 services you get a free eyebrow wax (although lip, face could probably be negotiated) for someone who goes for monthly facials, it's a nice treat. They even offer you quarters for your meter and when they have them, validated parking passes for the garage on 3rd and D. Calling for an appointment would be wise. read more

Solid spot in D-town Rosa. I popped in for a teeth whitening and really couldnt have been more pleased with the process. Rabia was super friendly and made me feel right at hope with a tray full of bleach sitting in my mouth. My soon to be wife goes here all the time for her services and just loves the place. The teeth whitening experience is a bit different though. My teeth def hurt into the night and lips didnt feel right till the next day. Being a newbie in town is hard, but not knowing places to get beautified makes it even harder. I had been searching around and trying a few places until I finally booked an appointment with the owner of Lotus Beauty Bar, Rabia. She is so great at what she does. I got my eyebrows waxed with her and I just loved them! Having sensitive skin always led me to having acne or redness after getting my eyebrows waxed in the past, BUT NOT HERE, NOT THIS TIME!!! She used this purple wax (which of course freaked me out at first, but she said because lavender was part of the ingredients) for sensitive skin. She also used antiseptic after. She explained all the process while working on my eyebrows so I got a lot of tips from her! I also got a facial with her. I picked "Lotus Facial with a peel" and Rabia customized the products for me, all natural and organic. She used Pai & Phy't which brought great results on my face. My skin is glowing and I can't wait to see her again soon! I highly recommend Rabia. You won't be disappointed! read more

I have been coming here since I moved to California from the east coast in 2013 - my decision to check them out was based on the reviews I saw on Yelp. (thx Yelp!) I can't believe it took me more than a year to write this. (Sorry, Rabia!) And I have never ever regretted my decision. Lotus Beauty Bar is amazing! This is NOT your run-of-the-mill foofy day spa, with big robes that everyone else has already worn, darkened rooms, and new-agey muzak piped through the hidden speakers in the floor...so if that's the vibe you're looking for, keep looking, because this ain't your place. Lotus has a chill, casual vibe, with lots of natural light and consistently funky fresh music that I genuinely enjoy listening to. It is owned by and staffed by some of the coolest ladies I have met out here in California, and their services are top notch every time. While I can not speak to *every* service they offer, I can report that my brows look great after every wax, my skin is glowing after every facial, and my knowledge base is increased after every visit. They are super friendly and super skilled, they know their products and they know skin. Lotus has a few great product lines available. They don't sell products because they're forced to be corporate shills for a house brand, though - the products they sell are selected and vetted by the staff because they work. All natural, cruelty-free, ingredients I recognize and can pronounce, and it all feels great on my skin. I can say with total honesty that the products I am now using on my face (purchased at Lotus) are my hands-down favorites of all time. I am moving to west Marin county in a few weeks, and I am agonizing over what to do about my brows. I suspect for a little while, anyway, I will probably make the long trek to Lotus, because they're just that good. Rabia and her team are fabulous. I have been there twice and will continue to return and recommend to others. I am a natural med blonde/strawberry blonde and without makeup I look like I have no eyelashes or eyebrows. For my first visit I decided to get my eyelashes tinted. As you can imagine, having dye put on your eyes can be a bit intimidating. Rabia, the owner, has the most gentle touch, soothing voice and grounded energy. She walked me through every step of the way. It was such a glorious experience that I returned yesterday for an eyelash tint and eyebrow tint. As someone who has not seen her actual eyebrow hairs in years (they are blonde and it looks like I have no eyebrows without makeup) I cannot explain how totally thrilled I am to wake up today, look in the mirror and see that I have eyelashes and eyebrows...that are my own, totally natural, just darker! Just had my first visit here, and I loved it! Im a big fan of PHYT'S skincare products, and this is what they use for their facials. My skin is very sensitive, and Phyt's organic skincare is so gentle. Osmosis in Freestone was the only business I knew of that carried Phyt's, and I am so pleased to have found a new place. Her products are very high quality , natural and gentle. My skin feels and looks great after a treatment.
