Finally had a chance to check out at least one of the Chicagoland area Jollibee's. This is the second location that recently opened inside Seafood City. I was dreading how long the line would be, especially on a weekend in the late afternoon. Sure enough, the line was almost to the door, but surprisingly was moving. What I didn't anticipate was the wait to actually get the food. After placing your order you get a pager. It took us 30 minutes to get our order. Meanwhile we were able to find 3 seats at the side of a high top table to sit. This location is small, with limited seats (like 1-2 booths), one round table for a group, and the rest high tops, not very kid-friendly especially when the high chair doesn't reach the table. It was a little awkward bending down to feed baby girl in her high chair while I sat on a high top chair. The chicken is just how I remember it back in Manila, crispy skin, juicy meat. The gravy has a peppery kick that complements the chicken and perfect for dipping the chicken or slathered on the mashed potatoes. Corn was meh. The Peach Mango pie was hot and fresh - sugary sweet goodness packed in a hot crispy sweet pocket. If only they can improve on the wait time, isn't this supposed to be a fast food chain? read more

I've struggled between a 3 and 4. As a location as an example of Jolibee there is little to fault, the quality of food served here is as high as any other Jolibee I've eaten at. Its just more for people who haven't been to one before and don't know what to expect, I'll be frank with you. I'm Filipino, and I love fried chicken, but I don't really love Jolibee the way others do (my favorite chicagoland fried chicken is Brown's Chicken if you can find one, get the mushrooms too and thank me later). My main issue is that they only serve dark meat here. I really like breasts and wings. That said the jolibee "Chickenjoy" style is really good nice and crispy, neutrally spiced (plain) it has decent salt. Some people slather on the gravy, I find I don't need it. I just need white meat lol. As for the other things, the spaghetti which I know people love, is too sweet for me (all filipino spaghetti is too sweet for me). The cheeseburger is also sorta sweet, I think its the bun. But yo you gotta have that mango pie, think a mcdonalds apple pie but the with that sweet sweet mango and a more pastry like crust. This was my first time to Jollibee after hearing all the hype. I was satisfied, but not blown away after eating here. I ordered the spaghetti with 1 piece chicken, the hot dog, and the cheeseburger. The dog dog was very average, and covered in cheese a sweet ketchup. The burger tasted more like a Salisbury steak with mayo and American cheese. The spaghetti was so SWEET. To be honest, it was all very sweet. The noodles had hot dogs and cheese as well. The chicken, however, is Jolibee's saving grace. Yum yum yum. They give you a gravy to dip the chicken in (which I strongly recommend) and it is delish. Would return just for the chicken as I still want to try their spicy option. read more

Come on. It is Jollibee. Might be a little bias since I'm Filipino but the quality of food is always good and never changing. (i know it's fast food) Tastes great and is definitely a treat when we travel down to Chicago. We try to bring buckets of their chicken to our friends in the Quad cities and they have been lovin it so far. Jollibee was our go-to fast food eatery in the Philippines and finally being able to eat there again after 20+ years allowed me to relive my childhood memories. Their spaghetti did not disappoint. My boyfriend, who has never had Jollibee or really any Filipino food at that, ordered palabok and was quite impressed. Their fried chicken with gravy dipping option was also appealing. It did not surprise me at all at how packed this place was. Regardless of the crowd, they were quick to attend to our orders and meals were prepared in a timely manner. We made sure to stop by one last time before leaving Chicago. Will certainly make this a traditional stop each time we're in the area! read more

This 1 star review is for their customer service only... I have been going to this Jollibee 5 times already(literally counted) and they NEVER get my my orders right!! It's frustrating and makes me want to say are they stupid? (I am so sorry for asking or even think that but it's the truth) I am not even over exaggerating. Different managers different staffs on the days that I order, hence I use "they" not their names. The cashiers don't say hello, how are you, thank you. They tie the bags when the orders are done like it's complete..... evidently it's not. They cannot follow complex orders... the manager herself... who fixed our order in the first place reviewed our receipt and took time with DOUBTS that we were right and they got it wrong... in the end, she literally said "Oh I did this order, i remember." Lmao not even sorry? Paid for 3 fucking peach mango pies..... and they fucking forgot to put it in the bag! Unfortunately, we were told to comeback to the store to get it since we cant get a refund?! But we couldn't go back because we were already in Elgin! Fucking shit! Not hating on their food at all, but Jollibee management needs to get their act together. I am only giving two stars cause the spicy fried chicken is literally the best I've ever had, even beyond fast food establishments. It is amazing.... But you can't just walk in and buy it. You have to wait in line forever. They have two registers and never have them both open, no matter how long the line is. The cashiers almost never seen like they know what they're doing, the food is always a wait when you do get to order, they forget items and they often run out of spicy chicken. You would think they would have figured out how to operate by now. I went yesterday and the line was short, so it wasn't too busy. I thought "great! Only two people in front of me. This is going to be easy this time!" I was wrong. It took about 10 minutes for the cashier to catch up entering the last person's order before the person in front of me could move up. When I finally walked up to the counter after about 15-20 minutes, there was a sign at the register with tiny font that said they were out of spicy chicken. It's like a bait and switch. Why not let people know upfront that the one item they're coming in for is not available? It's so they can sell other stuff. It's like a bait and switch. And yes, it was like this pre-covid. They need new management, that can train staff and improve their workflow. If they don't get it together, eventually they'll lose customers and start closing like the other up and coming fried chicken fast food spot that was going to blow up, Pollo Campero. They're fools if they think they can rest on their laurels and that folks are just going to keep showing up. I'm going back one day but not for a while. I want to recommend them to friends, because the spicy fried chicken is really good, but I cannot, in good conscience recommend people to a place that will undoubtedly frustrate them. read more

Always a sucker for fast food, been wanting to eat this forever but the lines have always been long at this SFC location. One time it wasn't so I swopped in. So many choices but the spaghetti was personally recommended to me, so I got its combo with two chicken legs. The chicken was good but nothing to write home about. The spaghetti was INCREDIBLE! The food here is mediocre. People either come here for convenience or for nostalgia reasons. If you are from the Philippines and have not had Jollibee in a long time, you might actually enjoy their food. You can just go to one of the seafood city restaurants, like Grilled City, which is literally a few steps away from this establishment. I've gone here a few times where they would run out of toys for their kids meal. The only reason I come here is because my child enjoys the toys from the kids meal. The restaurant is very bright and clean. The workers are constantly wiping tables and making sure the floors are trash free. The workers are also very friendly. Came to this Jollibee location on Dec 24, 2020. I understand it was Christmas but they had poor Covid restrictions and poor customer service. Since it is Chicago, it was extremely cold outside... but yet... they had us form a line outside with those wind chill. Once you got inside, it was a good 20 min wait before you got to the cashier to place your order. On top of that, they give you a warning that it will be 25-40 mins for your food. From the inside, it seems like people were waiting there so I decided to wait inside as well. I didn't sit on the designated chairs as others has sat on it before and there's no cleaning station for your usage. I waited a total of 52 mins for the bucket treat B with an extra jollibee spaghetti. It was upsetting to see the people waiting behind me.. receiving their food a whole 10 mins before me. They have all the food prepared but yet the packaged it 30 mins later so the food is no longer hot and ready. I wouldn't recommend this location. As fast food chains go, the chicken is very consistently served very fresh and temperature "hot" and perfectly done crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Their chicken in general I have to agree is on the expensive side. A bucket is $10 for six pieces. I really only like their mashed potatoes, rice, gravy and corn, but I don't like their spaghetti which is too sweet and soggy noodles. I kind of like their fiesta noodles but it's not the best I have had. I definitely do not recommend their burgers or steak sandwich, but their chicken tenders are good for those who like the white meat. Their chicken basically are thighs and legs for the traditional buckets. It's too bad they stopped their weekday specials because those were better deals. Jollibee is the Filipino brand of our KFC - I would like to think that it is very different or has a unique taste, but after eating it, fried chicken is just fried chicken - nothing special. This establishment is located in the suburbs and the nice thing about it's location is that you can go shopping for Filipino food and other goodies after eating as the restaurant is inside a large supermarket (which also have other Filipino food stands). read more

I love Jollibee, it brings such a nostalgic feeling every time I walk in. Reminds you so much of the Philippines, but Filipino Jollibee for me is undeniably better lol. Whenever we order we always get the 2 pc chicken joy with double rice. Not a lot know but they have a spicy version and omg it is simply THE BEST, and when I say spicy it is SPICY lol. If you ever get to try the chicken eat it hot and fresh! Dip it in the gravy and eat with rice, not fries (unless you're a kid). The chicken gravy and rice is a delicious combo. And I know the jolly spaghetti might be not for everyone but if you can, try it first! It is sweeter than your traditional spaghetti and comes with hotdogs, just a heads up. Everything on the menu is truly delicious if you give it a chance! I only gave it 1 star off because why are the only 2 Jollibees in Chicagoland so close to each other? That annoyed me.
