I thought this place deserved better rating but after getting it a few times I'm updating my review lol while the food is good at times it's a bit inconsistent. Sometimes you get crunchy chicken sometimes you get soggy chicken. They only serve dark meat so if you prefer to eat a leaner piece you missout on that option. Their ordering system could also be improved. They use Doordash but they are not on doordash. So when things go wrong with dashers customer can't contact doordash about it. They also don't have any manager on the floor and the employees would ask you to call back later when things go wrong but never pick up the phone after. It's extremely unprofessional. I get it's busy but that's no excuse for a place that should be systematic. One thing I am impressed is that they used pasta sauce for the pasta instead of using ketchup which most asian countries do. Tho it's really sweet, and the cheese is like a garnish you can't taste lol Not sure if it's the dasher or they dropped it before packing it, but the pasta was all over the bag contaminating all the sauces I paid for and the chicken. They forgot to put my sides in, and the fries I paid for only had 2 pieces in it LOL it's packed in a brown bag not sure if it's intentional to hide the fact there's only 2. I have tried their adobo rice once and it's really aromatic, same with their mashed potatos, just wish I had gotten mine. I don't think they deserve a 1-2 star rating based on the food but customer service doesn't exist, at least not for this location. So fingers crossed, if nothing goes wrong then it's 5 star experience but if you ever have to call in when something goes wrong, expect to just take it because they won't do anything about it lol When I contacted doordash, even they couldn't even get a hold of anyone at the Jollibee. read more

The chicken tenders look and taste almost exactly like Popeye's chicken tenders. They have their own sauce (shown on the left) but it taste more like a salisbury steak sauce to me and didn't really complement the tenders much. I feel like the sauce was much more appropriately made for beef. The sauce hid all the crunchy taste of the tenders and overpowered the juiciness of the chicken since the tenders were very thin (just like Popeye's tenders, also shown). As I said, think Popeyes chicken strips..... that's what they taste like. just as thin (as shown in the 2nd and 3rd photo) and the breading taste just the same. The fires, also included in the box they give you (even for dine-in orders) wasn't bad but both, combined, didn't really fill me up. I bought the Palabak family bucket C. The palabok is dry not enough sauce. When I complained they told me to pay for extra sauce. They gave me 2 oz of sauce and charge me $2.87 When I complained the manager said they couldn't do anything because that is the standard. So they have a low standard! It seems like after reading all the reviews, the people who really appreciate this place are true Filipinos. Yes, I get the nostalgic aspect, but I keep coming back because of 2 things: the peach mango pie, and the crispylicious, juicylicious chicken. The mango pie is hot, fresh, flaky, and sweet. Melts in your mouth as soon as you take a bite. The chicken is seasoned well, and so crispy yet tender on the inside. It goes well with a side of rice. Make sure you pour the gravy on the rice and chicken to get the full Filipino effect. The palabok is also good. For those that don't know, its thin glass noodles with a type of sauce that contains sauteed shrimp, boiled egg, and other stuff. Just try it! Last but not least, you have to try the pearl coolers. Both the ube and buko pandan will refresh you on a hot summer day. read more

I know other reviews are kind of negative but our experience was great. The staff was very friendly. Sure, they are maybe a little stronger with their greetings in Manila, but still we were nicely greeted by every employee. The ordering process went smoothly and the lady who took my order was very helpful with my questions about bundling. We just beat the lunch crowd so didn't have a long line. It did take maybe 10 minutes for our food, but since they gave us a table pager that was no problem. We got some normal chicken and some spicy. The normal (not spicy) chicken was steaming hot and super fresh. The spicy chicken was barely warm and almost seemed reheated, which was disappointing. The fries could have been fresher too. The mashed potatoes and gravy were nice and hot. We also got a pineapple float and buko pandan tapioca pearl drink. The float was my favorite. The buko pandan drink just didn't quite hit the spot for me, but I don't think there was anything wrong with it, it just seemed a little too savory for me. Their bathroom could use a little help bit still tolerable. I think the "flushing" issue is probably more of an issue for the building owners. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I really tried to give this place a fair try, but it just came up short. I thought the chicken joy was good the last time that I came. I tried the chicken joy for a second time, and it lacked flavor and it was not properly cleaned. The chicken itself had so much fat that it was impossible to eat the chicken. This place gets a 1 star because the employees seem to be happy and pleasant, but they move at a turtle's pace. It's always so bright and clean (at least during my 2 visits). This time I spent $6 on chicken and fries, and that price was not bad at all, but I would've faired better at Popeyes for the 2 piece Tuesday special. Jollibee is located inside the Seafood City market. Very spacious restaurant and clean. This is my second time eating at Jollibee and I loved it! I thought their chicken was really juicy. I ordered their 3 piece chickenjoy and 2 sides. If you're like me and don't enjoy soda, there's an option for pineapple juice. I got their mashed potatoes and gravy. These sides did NOT disappoint! This was a first time visit. The restaurant is closed for dine-in eating (would have been a good idea to have signs saying so). The bathrooms are closed (unfortunately, I had to go...) because of Covid. The chicken was tasty, I had the 2-piece meal with french fries. They gave me gravy with the chicken which added an interesting touch. They were down to 2 drink choices (bottled water or a pineapple drink). They were out of the spicy chicken also. I enjoyed what I was able to try out. Manager needs to stay on top of supplies... Previously tried a scheduled DoorDash order but that was cancelled. I just placed the same order again but for immediate delivery and that worked well and everything was correct. Staff even threw in a little toy (maybe because the first order was cancelled). I love their chicken... I really do. I FINALLY talked my buddy into trying them today. We waited 30 minutes in line to order. Then, after ordering the cashier said it would be another 30 minutes... I was already in too deep, so I said fine. After about 20 minutes our food was ready. My chicken and fries we're piping hot. My buddy's chicken tenders were COLD AF. Like they were cooked an hour before and put in a refrigerator. I went back up to the counter to get them replaced. The replacements were just as cold. This was my first time ever trying this restaurant. The first thing I noticed is they are very busy, but the customer service is great and they prepare your food quickly. There is a huge parking lot that you can park in, and there's also a seafood city next-door and a big bakery. I ordered two pieces of chicken, pineapple drink, spaghetti and peach mango pie. Everything was about $12. The peach mango pie was very good, had a lot of fruit in it, I also enjoyed the pineapple drink it was delicious. The fried chicken was pretty good, but it did not taste that much different than regular fried chicken to me. I loved the spaghetti. I should've been writing yelp reviews since the Chicago location (inside Seafood City) opened up since last year. There's 2 locations of Jollibee, the other location is in Skokie. Once you order your food, the cashier gives you a device that blinks when the food is ready to pick up. This Chicago location has seating area inside the restaurant and a self serve soda machine. With a combo meal, you have the option to have a soda drink (free refills) or pineapple drink. There's a main seating area if it gets overcrowded as well. Jollibees is the number one fast food chain over mcdonalds in thr Philippines. The food mascot is a bumblebee. The most bought food are the chicken and Filipino spaghetti (tomato sauce with hotdogs). However, I prefer my cousin's homemade Filipino spaghetti (she puts condensed milk and chunks of cubed melted cheese) over Jolibee's. The menu also includes siopao (warm sticky bun with inside meat filling), burgers (Overpriced for my taste; buns are stale. If I do have a craving, I usually get the one with pineapple ring.), bubble teas (milkshake with black tapioca balls), and mango individual pie. If you have a sweet tooth and want to try something new, Must try the mango pie. What I am disappointed is that you can't buy the kids toy from the kids meal separate. After 4-5 visits I've come to the conclusion it's not just been bad luck, the service really is abysmal! Tonight was the worst. I waited 15 minutes - yes that's fifteen minutes! - for a three piece chicken. Not exaggerating. After 10 minutes I walked up to the counter but was ignored for another 5, until they finally served my food. Horrible! Let's face it: the food is not high quality. The extreme amount of salt on the crispy chicken skin does make that part of it delicious. But the meat itself is rubbery and kind of gross. I've tried the spaghetti and palabak (sp?). I'm obviously no expert on how it should taste, but I can't believe even Filipinos come here because of the food. So why come here at all? Simple: it's fun! And it really is. Why is it fun? I came to order 4 yumburgers and 4 peach mango pie. This is a pasalubong (gift) to my sister in Detroit. Since we don't have a Jollibee in Detroit, I take the opportunity of buying my loved ones the things that bring back memories of the motherland. Even though there was a bit of a wait for the burgers and pies, I really didn't mind at all. Most people aren't here to clock the crews reaction time. I've struggled between a 3 and 4. As a location as an example of Jolibee there is little to fault, the quality of food served here is as high as any other Jolibee I've eaten at. Its just more for people who haven't been to one before and don't know what to expect, I'll be frank with you. I'm Filipino, and I love fried chicken, but I don't really love Jolibee the way others do (my favorite chicagoland fried chicken is Brown's Chicken if you can find one, get the mushrooms too and thank me later). My main issue is that they only serve dark meat here. I really like breasts and wings. That said the jolibee "Chickenjoy" style is really good nice and crispy, neutrally spiced (plain) it has decent salt. Some people slather on the gravy, I find I don't need it. I just need white meat lol. As for the other things, the spaghetti which I know people love, is too sweet for me (all filipino spaghetti is too sweet for me). The cheeseburger is also sorta sweet, I think its the bun. But yo you gotta have that mango pie, think a mcdonalds apple pie but the with that sweet sweet mango and a more pastry like crust. Man, I remember the days when there were zero Jollibees in Chicago and Filipinos in the Midwest were all jealous of how New York was getting one but we weren't. I mean, there are definitely some good Filipino restaurants in Chicago worth visiting (Isla, Uncle Mike's), but there's an undeniable charm to that big bee. Sometimes you just want some sweet spaghetti with hot dogs, ya know? Ok, maybe not all of ya know. But some of you for sure. I've reviewed the other Jollibee in Chicago, but the gist is this isn't the best example of Filipino food, but more like comfort food. This is especially true since this location is inside Seafood City, a Filipino grocery store with other restaurants inside, and all the ingredients you'd need to make food at home. This location has the same menu as the one in Skokie, which is to say it isn't as extensive as the ones I've seen in California. You can still get the famous Chickenjoy here, and when I got mine spicy it actually had more heat than any other fast food chicken I've ever had. They really piled on the peppery spice. Also available are their spaghetti, palabok noodles, burgers, pineapple juice, and must-get deep fried mango peach pies. Now that both locations have been open for a bit, the lines are not as long as they were when they opened...definitely not the hour wait that it once was. For Filipinos who miss a taste of their motherland's fast food, or for anyone who want to see what the hype's about, this location is perfectly fine for that. read more

Finally had a chance to check out at least one of the Chicagoland area Jollibee's. This is the second location that recently opened inside Seafood City. I was dreading how long the line would be, especially on a weekend in the late afternoon. Sure enough, the line was almost to the door, but surprisingly was moving. What I didn't anticipate was the wait to actually get the food. After placing your order you get a pager. It took us 30 minutes to get our order. Meanwhile we were able to find 3 seats at the side of a high top table to sit. This location is small, with limited seats (like 1-2 booths), one round table for a group, and the rest high tops, not very kid-friendly especially when the high chair doesn't reach the table. It was a little awkward bending down to feed baby girl in her high chair while I sat on a high top chair. The chicken is just how I remember it back in Manila, crispy skin, juicy meat. The gravy has a peppery kick that complements the chicken and perfect for dipping the chicken or slathered on the mashed potatoes. Corn was meh. The Peach Mango pie was hot and fresh - sugary sweet goodness packed in a hot crispy sweet pocket. If only they can improve on the wait time, isn't this supposed to be a fast food chain? read more

This was my first time to Jollibee after hearing all the hype. I was satisfied, but not blown away after eating here. I ordered the spaghetti with 1 piece chicken, the hot dog, and the cheeseburger. The dog dog was very average, and covered in cheese a sweet ketchup. The burger tasted more like a Salisbury steak with mayo and American cheese. The spaghetti was so SWEET. To be honest, it was all very sweet. The noodles had hot dogs and cheese as well. The chicken, however, is Jolibee's saving grace. Yum yum yum.
