Caveat, this is a fast food restaurant. FYI, right now you can only order online or drive-through due to COVID. As for the food, the chicken is their specialty, so inevitably you're going to compare the chicken to Popeye's and KFC. But note, this is a Filipino-based restaurant. We ordered the Chickenjoy Family Deal 1 with adobo rice and fries. The deals are worth it since they are only marginally more expensive than the chicken alone. The chicken was good. Crispy and tasty. Not as tasty as Popeye's admittedly, but remember, this is an Asian place. They gave us gravy for dipping, which was surprisingly good. Different from KFC and Popeye's gravy. I think it's an acquired taste. The Adobo rice was solid. Will definitely order that as a side again when we go back (and we will go back eventually). French fries were good, nothing special. The chicken was not good, the burger steaks were not as pictured in the advertising, and the Palabok fiesta noodles were DISGUSTING I arrived there at exactly 7:00pm, only to have the man tell me my food was not complete and needed to be prepared... they did not give me the Jolli spagetti and the food that I did receive was not worth the money I paid. Any other national chain (Popeyes, Bojangle, KFC / Church's Chicken) would have been half the price and double the quantity. Once I called to complain about the order, I was told by the manager "Arnold" in Store 4057 (Pinella's Park) that I could not have a refund for the order and wanted to know if I had the food. We visited Clearwater and had out of town license plates. This leads me to believe this was why we received such horrible food. In addition, if the manager asked for the food it is possible that they are recycling that food and giving it to another customer. I was surprised with how much I loved the spaghetti. I wanted fried chicken but I didnt want to drive the extra distance for Popeye's, and KFC is just so greasy. So I gave Jollibees a try. I asked for spicy chicken. ... What spice? It was not spicy at all. It had a decent mild, basic fried chicken flavor, but zero heat. Maybe someone made a mistake? I can't imagine what their mild chicken tastes like Now, it was light and crispy, juicy inside, so props for that. Not a huge fan of the mouthfeel. I don't know what kind of oil or grease they use, but it coats the inside of the mouth, so points off for that. The spaghetti was gross. Imagine spaghettio sauce with a little BBQ sauce mixed in, with sliced wieners, over long spaghetti. And some kind of cheese sprinkled on top. I'm not even sure a kid would eat this. I was so curious to try this place since it opened, especially seeing the line of cars wrapped around the building. Prepare for a long wait to order and receive food (took 30-45 min). Imagine KFC meets the Philippines. The fried chicken is similar to Japanese katsu with a light and delicious breading (not spiced like publix or too flour-y like KFC). Very juicy chicken! Gravy was nice to pour over top, but didn't add much flavor. The Palabok is a garlicky curry noodle with shrimp and pork. Family size gives you leftovers for a week! First time coming here and it was amazing. Ordered 2 chicken pieces with adobos rice and a pineapple drink. Considering we are under quarantine we had to wait in line a little longer than expected on top of the already crowded lines. Both chicken pieces were warm, juicy and moist. Most fast food chains that circulate around chicken are not as promising as the chicken joy. Same as the chicken adobo, it was moist and had a ton of flavor. The pineapple drink was made fresh and tasted so sweet. We were actually the only ones without food when we placed our order but it still took about 15-20 minutes. The chicken was bland and didn't really have much flavor. Nothing stuck out. The food was pretty good and fresh. We ordered the fried chicken, mango pie, halo halo, and pineapple juice. We ordered the "D" combo for $35 and they tried to up charge me $7. We spent $67 on the meal which I think is a little expensive. The reason why I gave them 1 star is because the service was terrible! It took us about 20 minutes to get to the ordering machine and there was only 2 cars ahead of mines. Then at the window it took another 20 minute wait time. I have had take away chicken two different times. Each time I had the 10 piece bucket. Maybe, I don't know something about the menu, but both times, I got 6 drums and 4 thighs. Maybe that is the makeup of a 10 piece bucket? There has been so much fuss since they opened their store, long lines before covid, people are really craving their bird. Their chicken was ok imo, nothing to wait 2 hours though. Their pieces, thighs and legs are noticeably larger than Popeyes, about the same as KFC. Personally, I prefer KFC but to each his own. When it comes to smashed potatoes and gravy, Jollibee is much better than the other two restaurants hands down. Jollibee also gives your gravy for dipping your drums and thighs, as one does. Be careful driving to this location. I'm waiting to hear that someone got a fender bender as it's at an almost immediate right turn off the highway. We went a couple times so I can write my review off of that. The first time we waited a bit and the next time same thing as we went at lunch time. I have been to Jollibee's all over the world and had to go to this one coz ... well it's actually in my neighborhood. it did disappoint though. I'll give them a few months before we go back again. The palabok (noodle dish) was lack luster to say the least, it felt like it was missing some key ingredients... like salt and the pork rind crumbles.... The reason many like it is because you can get the friend chicken with the rice .. if you're asian and you grew up in the south.. your mom went to church's or KFC and bought the bucket of chicken and called you to start the rice cooker! the gravy on your rice is a plus and their mango pie is pretty decent. My wife and I were bored on a Saturday and wanted to try something new for lunch, so we ended up at Jollibee. After watching several Youtube reviews the night before, we were excited to sample the menu. When we arrived, there wasn't much of a line, but the kitchen staff was scurrying around as if there was a line a mile long. It seemed like a couple of folks ahead of us had waited a really long time to get their food, so maybe it was just an off day for the cooks. After waiting about ten minutes, we were able to order our food, and we received it about ten minutes after that. However, that being said, all of our food was piping hot, fresh, and delicious. My wife and I traded our various orders back and forth and there was a lot of "oooh, you should try this!" comments. I enjoyed the burger because the pattie was more like meatloaf and had a great flavor. The chicken was also really yummy, with the mashed potatoes and gravy complementing them nicely. We ate until we were stuffed, but afterward, we didn't feel particularly "heavy". I think we spent about $30 because we wanted to sample everything. This is a comprehensive review of Jollibee in Pinellas! We ordered our own weight in Filipino fast food including chickenjoy, palabok, the chicken sandwich, peach mango pie, adobo rice, gravy, and the pineapple quencher! Full disclosure, this was filmed/done on the third day of its opening. I got sick (not food related!) and couldn't edit our review video or write this until now, so the info, such as them being out of spicy chicken, may be no longer relevant. Anyway, I'm with the review! The first thing you notice upon walking up to the location is the smell. That essence of delicious chicken grease wafts over to you and caresses your face, assuring you that everything is going to be okay and that it definitely will not give you congenital heart disease. Everybody is extremely happy walking toward the doors and you can imagine why. We were greeted by what were DEFINITELY the two coolest cops in all of the city, directing us to the tent in the back where we waited for what felt like a minute before we had our orders taken and we were let in. They broke our hearts early by telling us that they were out of spicy chicken (FOR REAL, JOLLIFAM?!), but at least they ripped the bandaid off early and it all just got better from there. The kitchen ran like a well oiled machine. I was reminded of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory - the amount of workers they packed into that kitchen, each with a clear purpose and clearly fully busy...it was a wonder to witness. They all also had a huge smile on their face and spoke with customers like they were friends, which is always a huge plus in my book! they funneled us in one way and out the other way, keeping traffic and confusion to a minimum. It was probably about 15 minutes, but it felt like 5, before we got our food. If you watch the video, you will see that the chicken tasted like we only waited 5 minutes...that bird came RIGHT out of the fryer and it was HOT. The chicken was crispy beyond belief with a crunch and munch that just did not quit. The flavors were just right, not overbearing but also not standing out from the higher end fast food chicken crowd. The tenderness of the chicken, though, was some of the best I have ever had. That chicken WILL fall apart on you if you're not careful. Make sure you eat it with the gravy - it completed the chicken in EVERY way! The palabok was a very interesting garlic-dominated flavor where the star was clearly the rice noodle, which was soft and delicate, but also left me wondering why the rest of the more colorful proteins didn't taste more prevalent. The adobo rice was an absolute winner, tasting like a beef-stock-infused fried rice with little bits of beef (?) inside for extra flavor and texture. The chicken sandwich was...honestly a bit of a disappointment - I had expected something more comparable to the Popeye's sandwich, but the chicken felt like it was half the size and was not quite as tender or juicy either. It is obvious that breast meat is not the place's forte, but I will give them props on that garlic aioli! It made the sandwich worth eating and set it apart from the crowd! The peach mango pie was a welcome step up from the fast food hot pocket pie format, incorporating real fruit chunks and an fresher egg roll crust consistency. The pineapple quencher was literally pineapple Hi-C (which is NOT a bad thing). All in all, it was a wonderful experience and for Chick-Fila prices, where are you ever going to get any of this stuff? The fact that it was actually good was just a plus, but it left us very impressed! I would gladly bequeath upon Jollibee in Pinellas a fried-up 4 out of 5 quacks! Living in the south, fried chicken is a staple for any southern belle. I was so excited to try Jollibee when it first opened. When I saw the menu I thought "how strange to have boiled eggs/spaghetti paired with fried chicken" but why not cause that seems like a genius idea! The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars and not 5 is because they only have legs and thighs. While these are great, juicy pieces, I prefer the wings and breasts. The chicken itself is very tasty, it's not heavily battered and more importantly it's not salty. When I visited they were out of spicy chicken and their mango peach pies- the two main things I wanted to try! My order came out fresh and the shoe string fries hit the spot on my drive home. I didn't realize food in the Bay Area is actually cheaper than it is here. I had the fried chicken meal with the vermicelli and a drink and it was $9!!! I think the taste was good but the wait was horrendous. We waited more than an hour to get the food and by then we were so hungry it definitely affected my perception of how good it was. My girlfriend and I got the halo halo here as people rave about it in st pete. It was okay. The price to dessert ratio isn't the best as it is a lot of ice and not enough of everything else.
