Reviewing for the lunch buffet: I wish I had pictures of the options Yummy Thai has for their buffet. I've been here so many times and the food always hits! They have a good variety of items such as curries, stir fries, and soups. If you get lucky, they do have this lightly fried fish stir fry that is to die for.. and get this: I don't even like fish. My wife has this restaurant book mark for some time. Finally, we were able to make it to the restaurant. We were here for their lunch buffet. The restaurant have a lot office or construction worker come to join us. Previous review indicated their Thai is more American style. We think they also tone down the spiciness but the flavors are there. I like their fried veggies and noodles. The dessert is fried banana. The protein includes seafood and chicken. Overall is good. Since I am working in the area, it has been fun to try out some of the amazing restaurants in the area. So many choices, yummy indeed! Housed in an older strip mall, this small restaurant offers a popular lunch buffet that looked quite fresh at 11:30am when I stopped in to pick up my to go order of drunken noodles with steamed tofu and added broccoli. Unlike some other places, no problem with my requests and my favorite condiment, vinegar with jalapenos, was provided. Only snafu was that I had requested no peppers but they remained as part of the dish. Also, the rice noodles were not wide- probably more medium which to me was not as authentic. THAI BUFFET. THAI. BUFFET. I've never seen one before and I was so excited to try it. The inside is nice and clean and quiet, a nice place to enjoy lunch. It's $14 per person M-F. The selection was decent, akin to an Indian buffet but perhaps with a few more items. They had a good array of veggie and meat options to appeal to any diet (tofu, ground pork, chicken, shrimp) as well as appetizers (like edamame and some sort spicy wine-flavored red seaweed salad) and dessert. The offerings were definitely diverse and palatable. There was also the common, popular items like panaang curry and pad thai. My favorite was the ground pork in basil, great flavor. The pad thai was pretty good too. I will say though that most of the offerings are not spicy, as some may expect Thai food to be. The panang curry had a some spice but that was mostly it. However, I have a low spice tolerance so I thoroughly enjoyed it. It may not have much spice, but most dishes do have flavor, rest assured. There were a couple dishes that were a little more lackluster but hey, that's what's great about a buffet right? You can get a little bit of everything. Buffet is from 11:30-2 and we came in just after 1 which made me worry that we'd be left with the dregs of the morning's leftovers, as such has happened at some small buffets before. However, most of the platters were at least half full when we walked in and the owners told us to let them know if we wanted anything in particular refilled which was amazing. The service was great, they were very kind and pleasant. They came to take our plates when we stood up to go to the buffet and they would check and see if we wanted us to refill any of the platters despite the fact that they were closing soon. Yummy Thai is my husbands and I go to spot and we eat here once a week. The staff is so friendly and offers generous portions. I always get the chicken pad thai and it always comes hot and bursting with flavor. The sauce is a perfect blend of sweet and spicy and coats the noodles well. The name doesn't lie! Yummy Thai is yummy! I really enjoyed their spring rolls. They were super crispy- I'm not sure if that was intentional but I love 'em. An order of spring rolls has 4. They're small/ skinny, not a lot inside. The sauce paired nicely with them...sweet chili sauce. We both ordered curries and Thai noodles on the side. Visited Clearwater for the weekend. After full day of workshops I was too tired to drive to the water/beach for sea food. Decided to eat Thai. Found this unassuming little spot. Went about 6pm on a Saturday. Only one family. So I was nervous. No real ambiance. The coconut soup was AMAZING!!!!! Not made with broth it was made entirely with coconut milk!! My family tried their "lunch buffet" it was very average and they were slow to refill the dishes. I think the flavors are geared towards the American taste buds and not an authentic crowd..they were busy though, packed with a lunch crowd so that's great for them. Overall it wasn't terrible but I probably wouldn't give them another try. read more

I visited here for dinner one night before closing. It's very cozy and located within a strip center that was very close to my hotel. I ordered the basil beef, Thai tea, green curry chicken and chicken satay. I later found out they were out of beef, which is an absolute must for me when I visit new Thai restaurants and try the basil beef. Was pretty dissapointed. I settled for pork instead and it ended up being pretty decent but not nearly as spicy as I'd like. I asked for Thai hot, but I didnt have any problems finishing the food. I would have still rather had beef. The chicken satay and green curry chicken were pretty average tasting. They didn't give any utensils for the curry dish....so I had to ask for a spoon when I was finally able to track down my waitress. I'd probably try another Thai restaurant if I was ever in town again. read more

Yummy Thai is a solid 4 stars when it comes to their lunch buffet. For anyone who works in the Carillon Park/ Feather Sound area... this would be a five star lunch compared to the other lunch options. Yummy Thai has a lunch buffet during the week for $8.95. You can also get a punch cared and after 10 visits you get a free lunch (one punch for each person). One of my friends introduced me to this buffet and I've gone back once a week since. Their Thai Hot definitely means Thai Hot. While they have other, not hot options, this is definitely a place for someone who loves a true Thai Hot meal. My two favorite options at the buffet are the Bangkok Chicken and the Thai hot Basil Noodles with Chicken. I definitely plan on coming back for many visits in the future! read more

Cute thai place and the owner is really sweet. We've been for the lunch buffet twice. Both times we enjoyed the food. It was fresh and was rotated frequently and it was always busy! I'm the type that will give an eatery severs attempts before calling it done. The Pad Thai just taste of vinegar, no flavor in the fried rice (chicken fried or basil) the Panaga curry disappoints. Let me start this off by saying, I've been loving Yummy Thai for years. They've been my go to thai place for lunch (the buffet is small but fresh), takeout for dinner and pick up when I'm running around the Publix (in the same shopping center and can't find anything to eat there). Now I'm sad to report this will no longer be my thai place :( We ordered takeout online, because it's 2018 and I talk to people ALL day and just want to order quickly. The ordering process isn't bad. But for some reason, this has happened twice now, they do NOT get the orders. The 1st time this happened they made my food pretty quick and were apologetic. Tonight, my very VERY patient husband arrived after our pickup time and was told there was no food ready. OK, he is a saint and said no problem I'll go to Publix for a few. He came back and 20 mins later still no food. I checked the online order, maybe I messed up? Nope, it was received over an hour ago and still no food. I told my husband to tell them to give us a refund, he is just to nice to demand that so he continued to wait. 1 hour and 30 mins after I placed my order he arrives home (we live 4 mins from there) and the rice was already cold. Then I opened my broccoli and tofu that somehow took 90 mins to prepare and was just ugh. It was disgusting looking. I'm not sure why they dumped a ton of peanut sauce on top, I didn't order it that way and who would ever want that much peanut butter sauce on top of a healthy broccoli dish? My husband loves their drunken noodles but they made it wrong, I asked to leave out eggplant which they ignored. He rarely complains but the put so much spice in the food it's inedible and we love spicy food. I ordered medium this time and still it was to hot for him to enjoy.
