Solid joint in Ballard with a cozy atmosphere and some decent eats and drinks! Pros: New outdoor patio area! Amazing for the summer months Decent menu with mostly sandwich/burger options Food is pretty good overall, homemade fries FTW! Don't skip out on their jalapeno tartar sauce! Inside is definitely old and worn, but gives to the overall vibe. It's not a huge place, so can definitely be a little crowded at times. Beers are on rotation so can often change... Service overall is fine and staff are friendly Not really much in the ways of parking around this area unless can find along the street Definitely recommend this spot if venturing around the area or just wanting to stop in for a beer!

Fantastic sliders, good location in Ballard by Fred Meyers and solid IPAs. The veggie burger is fantastic for being meat free. Highly recommend.

In the heart of Ballard, this little brewpub has the perfect combination of good beer AND good food. I had an assortment of Po'boy and mahi-mahi sliders. They both come with a side of house tarter sauce which was better than any other sauce I've eaten. It's got a little spice and is mild on the tarter. Beers were good as well as the service. I think the best part was the homemade hot sauce.

ONION RINGS are not to be missed here. I could eat these and nothing else.

Do you love onion rings? Me too! The Jolly Roger offers up some of the best onion rings in Seattle, second only to the rings at the Wedgwood Broiler, in my opinion. Crispy, hot, and fully cooked inside, 9 huge donut-sized rings arrive at the table as an artfully stacked tower, a golden monument to deep-fried savory crunchiness. And this is a monument that you can take down quickly; just don't burn your tongue as you eat your way to the bottom. Other menu items are also tasty. The seafood (and burgers) are very good, and all three of us ordered a seasonal gerkensalat plate because we are all pickle freaks. We could have just shared one plate (except we didn't). I've been here five or six times since it opened, and it's always a solid choice. Good food, friendly service, cold beers and the second best onion rings in Seattle are waiting for you at the Jolly Roger in Ballard. Five stars!

Came in on a Friday night and learned that Old Stove Brewing gets busy for a reason! All the…read moreoutdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

Outside seating is first come first serve and inside seating you have to see a hostess. We started outside and saw someone leaving and circle them like vultures. We got lucky, it was 4th of July weekend, so it was busy! We ordered pizza for the table and for my toddler. It was really good! He loves the pepperoni. My order was the salmon burger. They used a good slab of coho, nicely seasoned with a aioli. The fries were crunchy and nice. I shared with my husband and it was just right, since we had a bunch of apps at the market. We also got a round of beers. Or in my case I got their hard seltzer, which wasn't too bad, I would probably just get a light beer next time. Service was great outside! Also you get the nice breeze, they also had heaters on top. Picnic style tables and quick service!
