$10 tri-tip meal. Will leave you incredibly unsatisfied.
    Eric A.

Incredibly underwhelmed. For $10 you get a cold hot dog bun with two of the thinnest slices of tri-tip you could imagine on it. The can of soda and bag of chips does not make up for the $10 cost. The bbq sauce was ok, but overall just a terrible meal. I wish I had went to the food truck next door. You'll probably regret going here. I just finished the "meal" and now I need to go grab an actual lunch.

I was literally at the restaurant a month ago. Good to see that they now have a truck. They showed up to one of the recent Moveable Feasts. They got cleaned out of pulled pork and brisket however. So I went with a hot link and chips. Spicy I remember it, good flavor. Though maybe on the high side price wise but it's a solid product

This food truck was packed when we drove up to it, They had to call back to their restaurant to bring more food since they ran out twice, granted that their is usually 3 food tricks their and today was only one food truck and one desert truck but they BBQ is good and cheap . Owner was super nice since my buddy and i were the last one's to get food and everyone else behind us couldn't get anything. He gave me a free drink. Once they were out of food he went over to the dessert truck to get something to eat since they was no food left , that was hilarious. Next to them on the parking spots they have lots of buckets that people sit down and eat. A lot of intel people come here to have lunch even thought they have a pretty good cafeteria food where i believe it is free food, So that says something about this place alone

Wow what a nice treat to see Pastor E. Coming down the walk to invite me to see his new truck. Beautiful.

Very good to see Pastor E. Much love and respect to his family. God is in the blessing business for sure. The chicken was good.

The food is absolutely delicious, ordering online is simple, and their communication is always fast and responsive. For my son's 8th birthday party at John D. Immediately impressed by the other clientele when we arrived. There was a crowd outside waiting to order, and when we were pondering the menu outside and telling another customer it was our first time there, he explained what his favorites were and we really appreciated that! My partner and I were craving brisket so we both ordered the same thing! Now usually we get two different things to share when we dine out, but we both didn't want to give up our brisket cravings, so alas - two LARGE orders of brisket were what we got! The brisket was delicious and tender. The end piece was too salty though, but the rest of it was tasty and had just the right amount of fat. There were about 6 small slices of brisket in the LARGE portion ($27.50) and it included 2 sides and a slice of bread. We got mac & cheese (yum), coleslaw (unique in that it didn't have much liquid but it was good!) and potato salad (also delicious!) to try. The cashier was pleasant, but otherwise there wasn't any extra service provided. We had to get our own utensils and napkins, and we had to pick up our own food when it was ready after our name was called, and we also had to get our own takeout containers and bus our own tables when we were finished! Food pricing was on the higher side. So tipping generously on a high priced meal seemed to be a little much for what we got, just sayin'! At least the food was prepared quickly. There was lots of seating both indoors and outdoors, and a full bar with a lot of draft beers and TVs - a good place to watch those sport games!

After watching a review on social media, I decided to try something new. I had to try the cracklin' chicken bites. I ordered the southern fried fish, added the brisket, and the collard greens. After I ordered, I went to the bar to order a gin and tonic. I asked for the Bombay Sapphire gin. Then, it turned into an unreal experience. When I got my drink, I asked the female bartender if she added lemon or lime. She gave me "the look" and said I did not ask for lemon or lime. Taken aback, I told her that I've never had a gin and tonic without lemon or lime. She then replied, "rude". I proceeded to apologize, and then she acquiesced and gave me a garnish. I thanked her and again apologized. She was having none of it. I was in a great mood because I still tipped her. However, it has been bugging me ever since July 25. Hence, my review. Back to the food. My food was delicious, flavorful, and portion sizes were great. In fact, I am taking my parents there today. However, we are going to go to the one on South of Market--just in case I want a gin and tonic. I will be sure to ask for lime this time. :)

My sister wanted bbq for her birthday and so we opted for this place. i loved they way that it was decorated. it's like a bar and bbq served in one place. Since i've never been here before i was really surprised by their portion sizes. it was well worth the money spent and picking up was easy too. super nice guys who helped me. i was a bit confused on what kind of sauces they had. the person who helped me gave me a run down and explained their sauces. they also gave me some samples to try to take home as welll. by far i think id have to agree that their tin roof sauce is the best sauce my sister even wanted to know if she could just buy their bbq sauce. other then that we ordered roughly a good portion of bbq- pulled pork, cheddar cheese jalapeño sausage, burnt ends, brisket, chicken wings, and ribs. our sides were the cajun rice, green beans, cole slaw and corn succatash. would probably love to come back for their lunch special one of these days.

I wouldn't say its the best BBQ in the states but it's certainly better than anything in San Diego. I simply got the chicken tacos and a couple glasses of wine. The chicken tacos were great, flavorful, well seasoned. They're a bit steep at $23 for 3 tacos but well sized and worth it. Whenever I'm vising from out of town and have family with me we'll likely stop here. It's great.

I've been to 3 others Redwood City BBQ, South Winchester BBQ (San Jose), and Canyon's BBQ (Castro Valley) and I've reviewed most of those quite favorably, except for 1. But they have about 4 others that I haven't been but are on my list. I guess now I'll know they are more the same than they are different. I knew walking in that I was going to like it. A strong aroma of wood smoke hugs you upon entering. A cool mural outside, lots of beers and bbq on the tables, cool tunes that was all over the place genre wise. 2 Meat Combo ($26/4.5*) Crazy solid combo. Not as juicy as I would prefer but between the perfect smoke content and their seasoning just makes me happy enough. Brisket: Their brisket is awesome. Not as juicy as some of the top notch places here in the Bay, but the flavor was perfect for me. Assertive smokiness without being overbearing. Get a piece with a good layer of fat and it was basically hearty beef bacon. I rarely put sauce on brisket but theirs is not bad, maybe just a dot or 2. Ribs: Also drier than what I like but the flavor and meaty texture was enough for me. Definitely have to pull these off the bone a bit, does not easily fall off, which I actually prefer. I like toothsome versus mushy meat. These ribs do have a layer of bbq sauce cooked into them, so it has a sweet and tangy flavor already in it. But they still can accept extra sauce, as it will not only moisten the ribs further but it will amp up the tang and sweetness that pork ribs are natural for. Tried 2 sides, beans and coleslaw. The beans aren't the super sweet kind, which I liked. More chili-like very hearty and complimenting to the smoky bbq. The slaw was perfect, crisp with a creamy yet slightly sweet dressing. Crazy good, I could actually eat their sides alone as a meal. Their corn bread here is strange. It is cooked in a sheetpan and cut into squares much like a brownie. But that square is then griddled til golden brown so I totally thought it was garlic bread at first. The other bbq spots I tried from this same company didn't make corn bread like that, so this was a first for me. Probably the only miss for me here. Also tried a half pound of Tri Tip ($20/4*) Very meaty that they were able to keep it a nice pink medium, which I like. But much milder in smoke than their brisket and ribs. I ended up making sandwiches with these at home. They are sliced pretty thick so you may have to slice some of them further. It bites easier in thinner slices versus monster thick slices that will pull out of the bread with each bite. I learned that on this out so just throwing out a tip. A solid bbq throwdown with a cold frosty one, plus lots of leftovers for work lunches the next few days, is just an out I can repeat over and over. Glad I found this spot!

You cant really find a skewer place with this type of vibe, def a spot i like to take my out of town friends to for a good time I love getting the fried tofu skins, this is my favorite skewer to get. Yes they add hella chillies in here so you have to pick it out, but its hard to find places with a razor clam dish that is super tasty and flavorful The alcoholic drinks here are super unique and interesting, my method is to go for the cutest branding, and just order it, and suprisingly it ends up working in my favor LOL my favorite part, is the seasoning they use on all the skewers! that classic chinese taste :D

Some other good skewers are the chicken skin, pork belly, and corn.
