An update as of 3/24/2021: The owner Mike did call me and fix the scheduling issue. He was awesome, apologized multiple times, and was able to get me an appointment. My appointment was with Diane and she was so sweet. She did a great job and I'm very happy with the end results. The only reason I did not give a 5 star was just because it was very pricey. They have the ranking system at Jon Tomas so if your stylist is a level 4 then it cost more. I'm totally fine because I knew that this was the system up front however, $70 for a haircut (I just got a trim) seems excessive for anyone. All in all would recommend and would go back read more

I was able to get an appointment with Ashley when I needed it, which was great because I really needed it! My hair had gotten badly damaged a couple months prior at a different salon, and I was very worried about putting any thing on it again. Ashley walked me through the process I would need to take to get healthy hair again, and what I could do for a few highlights to brighten it up without damaging it more. She also did a cut to get rid of the fried ends left behind from the other salon. The end result was a super cute haircut, nice highlights that got rid of my roots but didn't damage my hair, and a plan to get my hair healthy again. I would recommend the salon for people that want to know they can do a process on their hair and still have healthy hair! I would also recommend the salon overall, top-notch professionals! read more

I had a Groupon for $95 worth of services. I had my hair colored all over, foiled and cut and bought a $9 can of hair spray. I ended up paying $129 out of my pocket PLUS the Groupon. Talk about overpriced. My stylist couldn't carry on a conversation, the salon looked old and worn and another stylist there was dropping the F bomb while talking to a client. I will never visit Jon Tomas again. I like my color, but the cut was terrible. I ended up going to another salon 10 days later to see what the problem was. She said I had "holes" cut in the hair near my ears and it was uneven around my neckline and framing my face. I called the salon to speak to a manager 5 days ago and haven't received a callback. I'd suggest reviewing their business practices and training with their stylists. No one ever called me back...it's been three weeks (today is 6/18/10). They really seem to care about customer service! read more

I have been having my hair done here for four years. I love my stylist (Candace). She gives great advice on what works for my hair type, face and coloring. My best hair days are when I go in and say do whatever you want. She takes the time to know me so she can recommend the right styles for me. She also listens to what I want - when I decided to let my hair grow out she helped me with it even though it was wrong for my face shape. She told me but I really wanted to do it. Service has always been great. I've never had any problems and I'm very picky. The salon was remodeled recently and looks wonderful. They are a little higher than some places but right in line with what you would expect for a higher end salon. read more

I have very curly, unruly hair and I was looking to make a big change and go from extremely long to rather short. I moved to St. Louis a year ago but haven't been able to find a stylist that I really like and trust. This hair was becoming unruly and obnoxious so I knew I needed to get it under control and I was going to have to fly blind. I had a friend who'd had a good experience at Jon Tomas and so I figured I'd try it out. I was randomly scheduled for a next day appointment with Stephanie. She was wonderful! Personable and knowledgeable, she made sure to look at what I wanted (I had pictures) and talk to me about my options. She did exactly what I asked and it looks great! I She did a great job and I enjoyed my time at the salon- which is always the ideal end result. I was given a coupon for a $35 cut/style for being a first time client so I'm not sure what the pricing is like without the discount. But for the right stylist for my curly hair, I'm willing to pay a little extra. I highly recommend the salon and Stephanie in particular. Tip: They only accept cash/check tips so be sure to come prepared. read more

Bought a groupon and was severely let down! The girl who checked me in was straight up rude, there is no where to sit other than the hair area lobby to wait for appointments. Paula is extremely rude. She ruined my experience and probably more customer experiences at Jon Tomas. Don't use the coupon on their website. It makes Paula angry. She's some kind of manager...............not sure what kind. Paying the bill was painful for me and other clients in the salon waiting room, not to mention my stylist.
