Tatayanna has been a delight and I drive quite a distance to see her and she does a wonderful job every time. The Salon employees have been very accommodating. This salon messed up my friend's hair. She asked to be brightened up with a little baby highlights. Provided a inspo photo that looked very subtle & nothing crazy. Tell me why my friend came out with a yellow, un-toned skunk strip that isn't even midline and is an inch from the root? It's like they were painting random stripes without using a parting comb or any sort of skill. This isn't the early 2000s where we're bleaching with boxed bleach from target in the basement.... Not an ounce of sectioning or weaving method to make it look like a subtle all over look for the summer. Barely blew her hair out or styled it after to make it look even half decent. Way to mess my friend's hair up, Casey.. and have the audacity to say "it looks amazing!!" Now she has to spend more money to get it fixed. read more

TLDR: 3 years of mixed results Sometimes I left Nicole's chair with a nice cut. Most times it was just okay. I kept returning because the salon is close to home & prices are decent. A friend with an undercut & thick hair initially recommended the owner Nicole, but stopped seeing her after one too many botched fades. Ten months ago, instead of the fade I requested, Nicole buzzed a ring around my ears and cut the rest of the area to #3 length. It looked awful. After that, I gave up & settled for "comb length" on the sides because it looked okay. I know lowering expectations is a red flag, but Nicole was pretty good at layering my thick hair ...until my last visit. Nicole cut my hair dry then colored it. She never showed me the back. At home, I noticed it looked crooked but wasn't sure because of how she styled it. When I washed it a few days later, I cried. It was so crooked when wet and looked worse after flat ironing it. My husband said, "I'm no stylist, but that's crooked AF." I called the salon in tears & told the receptionist what my husband said (minus the AF). I texted the first photo attached to this review. Nichole received the photo, heard my husband's quote, and said we needed to "part ways" because I'd badmouthed her to the receptionist (her words). Including the $30 tip, I paid $175 for a root touch up, cut, and style. The color was ok. Nicole refunded $55 for the cut. No refund for the styling or 20% tip. It feels like I've been dumped by a mediocre boyfriend. For years, I made excuses for the underwhelming haircuts. "Maybe it's the coarse texture of my hair. Thick hair is difficult to cut. It'll look better when it grows out a bit. I must've chosen a bad style." I have 4 holiday parties to attend in the next 2 weeks and I just want to cry. I gave 2 stars because my cuts weren't all bad, just overall disappointing. read more

I had a terrible experience at this place. I was a new client seeing Cassie for a second visit. I arrived on time for a Saturday appointment but the receptionist told me that Cassie was running about 15 minutes late because her client wanted a blowout that she hadn't scheduled ahead of time. I thought she should have declined because she had another client right afterwards but unfortunately she didn't do that. They had called me before I arrived to tell me to come 15 minutes late but I did not get that message. After about 25 minutes, I approached the receptionist who was now outside smoking--which I thought was a little disgusting since she appeared to have a bad cough. Told her I didn't want to wait much longer so she went over to Cassie who was calmly chatting and blow drying her clients hair as if she had all the time in the world. she said it would be around 5 more minutes so I waited. Cassie walked over after her client left and appeared annoyed, right off the bat. She didn't greet me very nicely and DID NOT even offer an apology for the half hour wait. She tersely asked if I had received her message about running late and I said no. It quickly went downhill from there and I was getting more upset at that point because it appeared she was angry at ME when she was the one who created the situation. I told her I only had about a hour and that I only wanted one of the two things I had scheduled because of the half hour delay. She became visibly angry and said she couldn't do the root color in an hour and told me to reschedule. She walked over to the receptionist to find me an appointment during the week. I told her weekdays are not an option , and said I think we could get the color done in the remaining time but she refused and literally started waving me away with an obnoxious hand gesture as if batting away a fly! I couldn't believe her response. I don't think I've ever had an experience like this with someone so inexplicably angry over a situation she herself created. I waked out, but made the mistake of calling a few minutes later to explain how upsetting this was, but the rude smoking receptionist blamed me for having a bad attitude and for treating the stylist disrespectfully. OMG. REALlLY?? they were actually blaming me for being annoyed when the entire episode could have beed avoided had Cassie had behaved like a professional and offered a word of apology. Or even just acknowledging that this had caused an inconvenience for me. But she didn't and instead threw a hissy fit. I think she knew she screwed up by agreeing to do a blowout which cut into her next clients time, but couldn't be accountable for her mistake. Maybe she thought she was so special that clients should just suck it up. BAD DECISION LADY. You are not good enough to act like some diva stylist for whom clients are willing to tolerate shitty behavior. Stylists like you are a dime a dozen. read more

I saw Tatyana for a pedicure and shellac manicure that was offered on Groupon. I received the Groupon as a gift, so the mani/pedi was worth the value, but the overall experience could have been better. Let me just say that Tatyana was amazing. Very sweet, full of stories and easy to talk to. When I initially noticed that my shellac manicure looked somewhat streaky, she assured me that we would fix it. It actually did end up looking streaky after 3 coats, but I think I blame the polish more than Tatyana. The problem was with another manicurist who arrived right as we were finishing up my pedicure. She immediately started rushing Tatyana and barking orders to clean the chair for her next client and to hurry up. All this rushing caused me to mess up the polish on one of my big toes, but I didn't want to mention anything because Tatyana felt so bad anyway. I didn't catch the woman's name, but it was very rude to speak like that to a co-worker, especially in front of a customer. read more

I bought a Groupon for Meni/pedi with Tatyana and it took only a week to get her appointment. She was fabulous with everything. She is so gentle and sweetest person I have had for my services. I moved to St.louis and she was the first person who did my meni/pedi and waxing and it's been 9 months I have been coming to the salon as it's so pleasant and nice place to relax. Everyone is welcoming and sweet!! I would definitely recommend Tatyana for nail services and waxing as she is great at what she does!!! read more

I have been going to Jim for 10-12 years, my daughter referred me and I've been going ever since. I am very picky about my hair but I trust Jim to do whatever he feels would be the best cut for me. Friends is a "friendly" atmosphere, very casual and relaxed. I have gone to Mary for brow waxing and have also had Bekkah do brow waxing also. They are both very good. I am confident that everything will be perfect when I leave there. Mary also knows her skin care products. I recommend Friends to anyone who wants perfection! read more
