Amazing service by Chris! I walked by the shop earlier in the week and spotted an amazing cabinet that I knew would look amazing in my moms house (late holiday gift). Unfortunately, the shop was closed for lunch and I didn't have time to wait. I snapped a photo of the cabinet and called the shop when they reopened. Chris, the store manager, picked up and was super helpful from the beginning. I need dimensions, pricing, etc. and even though he was busy with other customers at the store, he was still able to help me out. I placed the order over the phone and was super happy how easy and seamless the process was. Chris emailed me over the credit card authorization form and placed the order once I sent it back to him. Can't wait to have the beautiful piece in my moms living room!

Whimsical with a sense of humor and a dash of mod/60's happy style, the Jonathan Adler shop carries unique items for the home, including lighting, furniture and furnishings for every room and your pet. Mustaches, bananas and pills are currently popular. If you like squirrels, they have a squirrel candle holder, shoe horn, holder for matches, pillow, ringholder, paperweight, and letter opener. If you like shoes, they've got a shoe butter dish, pillow, salt & pepper shakers, and a candleholder. Love needlepoint? You need a needlepoint pillow, perhaps one a horoscope one or a custom pillow. My picks: * Cashmere knit throw, $495 * Brass squirrel shoehorn, $150 (time to upgrade your shoehorn) Many items would make a great hostess gift, such as the pill shaped carafes, colorful Pop candles (my favorite scents are Earl Grey and Sugar, $38 each), sleek enamel picture frames, salt & pepper shakers, bookends, and more. If you like JA, check out his more affordable collection for Barnes & Noble.

Since then I've really enjoyed interactions with the instructor (Karen) and the owner (Donna). Karen was very helpful in providing hands-on training to learn about 4 different techniques for chalk painting. Since taking the class, she has been super responsive and has provided a lot of helpful and creative ideas on how to work with different combinations of colors and waxes, has sent me links to some really interesting furniture, and was kind enough to send me a paint brush I left in the store. Donna has also provided a lot of very helpful advice on painting techniques and how to take care of the brushes and paint to prolong their use. She was very thoughtful in recommending that I buy smaller quantities of some of their products which she felt would be sufficient and, in turn, save the pocketbook.

The male shopkeeper was initially pleasant when I asked about a pillow. My husband joined me, and we decided the pillow's colors didn't match our decor. As we browsed, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Upon leaving, I thanked him, but he responded with a side-eye, glare, and silence. It's clear only potential buyers are welcome. This is unfortunate, as I'm renovating my home and this store could have been ideal. I'll take my business elsewhere, as snobbery doesn't boost sales. Why would anyone want negative energy associated with their purchase? No thanks.

There is a place where you can gear up and show your San Francisco free spirit. Located on Clement street it's called Foggy Notion. On a San Francisco Karl The Fog stroll I landed inside Foggy Notion. Inside you will find candles and natural skincare products along with gifts with some San Francisco representation. This shop was quite an unexpected find and it really reminded me of some gift shops in Los Angeles that rent shelf space to independent artists and creators to showcase their work.
