Attended an evening charity event at the Jonathan Club. The club is located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles and has been around for many decades. The building's history coupled with its architecture make it a true sight to see. The staff were absolutely amazing! Extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Our event, which included dinner, was held on the rooftop of the club. There were about 350 guests and an army of hardworking staff, which executed dinner flawlessly! Their timing and efficiency was superb! The dinner, which began with a fresh beat and fig salad, flowed by a salmon fillet , mashed potatoes and vegetables were all really good. Normally, preparing a meal for that many people yields a so-so or mediocre meal. Not here! The food was hot and the salmon was cooked perfectly!! Dessert was your choice of a chocolate gnash cake or vanilla bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I opted for the bread pudding, which left me wanting more! It was amazing!!!! All in all, it was a wonderful experience. If you are ever afforded the opportunity to visit the Jonathan Club, I would highly recommend that you go!

Had a lovely work celebration lunch here with someone who is a member! Parking was pretty easy, since there's a valet and from there, it's easy to enter the club. A the restaurant, I ordered the sand dabs -- I hadn't heard of this fish before, let alone eaten it, so this was a new experience for me! I ordered it because everyone had talked about how it was the Club's signature dish. Once I heard that, I needed to try it. I absolutely loved it and thought the dish was so delicious - from the sauce, to the fish and the mashed potatoes. For dessert, I had the pavlova and it was small, but mighty! It was amazing. Such a great time!

I had a lovely dinner on the rooftop! A beautiful atmosphere paired with the best service. I ordered the caesar salad and Ora king salmon with chimichurri. Our table shared the mac and cheese gnocchi, vegetables, and spinach. First of all, the caesar was incredible and the salmon was even better. Perfect flavors and the salmon was cooked to perfection. It had a nice sear on the bottom but the fish itself was moist and tender. The gnocchi was also delicious and the veggies were freshly harvested from their garden. For dessert, I was intrigued by the piña colada pavlova and it was an interesting dessert. Not too sweet but very tasty. Just a spectacular experience overall.

Came here for a work event and the cocktail hour and dinner was well-done. It's a good spot for business meetings. Valet parking was available. Street parking would be near impossible. The cocktail hour that preceded the event took place with a live pianist in an opulent room with dark wood. The fried chicken sandwiches were the best h'ordeurve, while the shrimp was my least favorite (it was a bit over cooked). For the three course meal, we had the salad (a bit bitter), steak and salmon (steak was nicely cooked, salmon was a tad under cooked but still nice), and New York style cheesecake. There were restroom facilities on the same floor and there were many different floors for multiple events to be held.

My husband's company Christmas party was hosted here and it was wonderful. The decor was elegant and the food tastes great! The staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely had a great evening.

Came here for a USC event. The hors d oeuvres were really good although the food was pretty standard (salad, steak, dessert). My steak was cooked perfectly, but I think they overcooked my friend's steak. The hamachi appetizer that they served was probably my favorite food item for the night! The atmosphere is super nice as it feels like one of those super class old-fashioned country clubs. Parking is horrible but we got complementary valet.

What an amazing place this was. I attended a preceptor appreciation reception hosted by USC school of pharmacy. From the second we entered the parking, everyone was so kind and professional (this is for the staff of Jonathan Club). Great atmosphere, very beautifully decorated, amazing food and great staff. Unfortunately I was not able to take pictures of the food tables but they were very tasty. They had a dessert table and their creme brulee was heavenly and so rich and creamy. They also offered tea, coffee and hot chocolate. All in all, it was a great experience.

Beautiful venue for my friends wedding that we attended. Though it's a bit creepy that it's flooded with old white men photos on every floor, kind of like the haunted houses where the eyes follow you... kinda gave me that feeling. The ceremony was beautiful, the art work is a bit dated and seems like a young child drew some of them but ornate enough that not many flowers or decor was needed to fill the place out. The rooftop was beautiful, their lamb chop legs looked a bit under cooked but the other hordeurves were tasty. The reception was fun & the bathrooms were clean. Enjoyed my time there overall

Had the salmon here. Great high end dining experience. They seemed to have a prime rib special there as well.

First, there is parking at the building but it's easy to miss because of traffic but it's a quick enterance and then down a steep tight hill into the lot. Valet is there but I found a self parking spot. For the event our parking was validated which made the parking only $8 which was a relief since parking around the area can be quite pricey! Inside the room all the tables are intimately set up according to how many people were on the reservation, and the room is surrounded by windows where you can see the amazing LA view. I love that according to what you're going to eat you get a color coded candle. Meat is red candle, Fish is blue, and vegetarian is green. When it is time to go dark they announce and you blind fold yourself with a blindfold that you get to keep at the end! There are 3 courses and I will not ruin it by telling you what I ate so you can be surprised. After each course the chef comes in and he tells you what the food was. I honestly expected that because my sight was gone that I would be hyper aware but somehow I guessed wrong about some of the ingredients! It was such a cool experience and the dessert was so good I wanted more. Dining in the dark was such a wonderful experience. If you need date ideas this would be a really great date idea! After the dinner was over, I explored the 51sr floor a little before heading to the elevator and it's really beautiful up there. There are some rooms with a TV and table and chairs and all the windows. In the waiting area there are even binoculars to use. Such a cool experience I would definitely do it again!

You can really tell that the food and ingredients are super high quality! As for what we ordered: - Escargots (5/5), no notes - super flavorful and tasty standard escargots done right! - French onion soup (5/5): the cheese was nicely melted and the soup was rich. Classic choice, can't go wrong! - Duck confit (5/5): never had this before but oh man it was so good! The duck skin was light and crispy, not oily at all and the duck was juicy. The flavors shined throughout and the purées complimented the duck really nicely. Super balanced dish - Beef Bourguignon (4/5): I wanted to love this more but I think the wine sauce was too overpowering. The beef was fork tender and cooked really nicely but I just thought the sauce was too strong. Everything else was nice! - pistachio crème brulee (5/5): I was so surprised but this was so good!! Never had these flavors before but it was the perfect blend of light and airiness with a hint of pistachio! Service was standard, they give table bread which was good and fresh! PS: Super weird, you have to leave the restaurant and go to a security guard in the middle of the plaza to let you in to use the restroom. Parking can be really difficult. Staff first welcomed us in the court of angels (downstairs courtyard area) and greeted us with refreshing chill towelettes. Afterwards, we were given a mini tour of the lounge and dining area. It was Alice in Wonderland themed and the interior was super cute and most importantly, ACed. We got a prix fix dinner with 4 courses: Steak tartare (4/5): pretty good standard steak tartare! Shrimp (4/5): super flavorful. My friends got the lamb porterhouse which was 5/5 and super tender and flavorful without the gaminess. American wagyu ribeye (3/5): the steak itself was pretty tough and lean. I had some difficulty even cutting slices. Would definitely skip this one. Cheese plate (4/5): pretty standard cheese plate. Service coming in was very hospitable and the woman who greeted us and walked us into the dining room was welcoming and kind. From there, I did not note any other servers who were as attentive or personable as she was. Regarding food, it's prix fixe and options were extensive in my eyes since our party had a variety of allergies as well as picky eaters. Here is my ranking of what I ordered: Bread rolls: 7/10 doughy but good to hold you over Beef Tartare: 9/10 (Toast was dry and tough to cut through and even had one of our party using their hands trying to eat this dish but overall good flavor.) Lamb Porterhouse: 10/10 (Incredible flavor and cook on this. The only down side was how small this was because I wanted more with how delicious it was) American Wagyu Eye of Ribeye: 7.5/10 (I can make food like this better at home. Was extremely dry on its own and felt like I had to saw through this with my knife. Fava beans were bland and not my favorite component here either. Cheese Plate: 9/10 (Standard and they were very accommodating in switching out the bleu cheese for something else) Overall, the experience was something intriguing since not many people get the opportunity to do. They even had merchandise for purchase but didn't pull the trigger on that. If I were to be invited to return, I think I would go for the vibes with friends but not necessarily because I felt the food was phenomenal (The turkey leg is still so much better and unbeatable at the park). Also prices for drinks were also obnoxious but maybe that's to be expected in this park. Last thing to note for future diners, this place had majority of us freaking out over the dress code but the place seems lax on it since we saw people with disney merch on and mickey ears (which we were informed were absolutely not allowed in).
