Sadly, my experience with this salon was the worst I have ever had with a professional salon for many reasons. I went to Sheria for hair regrowth after wearing wigs and losing my hair. Sheria was very knowledgeable and I was pleasantly surprised to see my hair begin to regrow so quickly. I was not expecting to see results for about six months and I saw progress much sooner than I expected (please remember hair restoration still takes time and it is important to not expect miracles). Sheria never sent me pictures full pictures that she took during my initial consultation. She only sent me pics of a problem area/scalp condition so I could show my dermatologist, but never pics of my full scalp. I asked for these pics so I could document my journey. Whenever I asked for pics, Sheria would say I was expecting miracles. Not true, I was only trying to document my journey and I actually saw progress sooner than I expected. On my last visit, Sheria finally pulled up my pics on her iPad and let me take pictures of those with my phone. I thanked her for helping me document my progress. The most disturbing part of my experience was not about pictures. It was that I received sores from her treatments. The first time I had a scalp sore, I did not think much of it. This last treatment, I did not know I had another sore until I got home and put up my hair for bed. I am not sure if Sheria noticed the sore, but I will say that all of a sudden before I left she recommended that I put on hydrocortisone ointment on my scalp because my scalp needed healing. This had never been mentioned in the months prior and she even gave me the ointment free of charge. Sheria put the ointment on my scalp before I left. Now I know why. (See pic). I was traveling after my appointment so I did not have the opportunity to tell her about the sore. However, the day after my appointment Sheria abruptly sent me a text long after business hours saying she decided I would be better off at another salon, with no explanation. This was a surprise since I had told her before I left that I was pleased with the regrowth progress I had seen so soon. Also, I was charged different prices for the same hair service. I never questioned her about pricing. I just paid and tipped. I would like to mention that her salon was very clean, which is important to me. However, the one star rating is for her lack of professionalism, poor communication skills, treatments that she mixes herself that are so intense they cause sores, and dropping a client who expressed thanks to her for her services (this was before I found the last sore). read more

The haircut is a bad haircut. It doesn't look like the pics I showed and even if it did, it's still bad. I hate it. I can't stand when business owners, especially those providing a service, blame the client when services aren't up to par. I didn't like the haircut you gave me. It didn't look anything like what I came in there for...with longer hair on top or not. It's a bad and uneven buzz cut on the sides. These are the pics I showed her. One pic has a slight area that's shaved. My hair looks like none of these. And for the record, slightly altering a style and cutting a completely different style are two different things. read more

This was my first time and my experience was amazing. The owner Sheria did a wonderful job, she explained every step. My hair was limp and falling, and after my haircut, I felt beautiful and revived. We had a few minutes prior with a consultation and she recommended a detox with a steam treatment, it's been a few weeks now and my hair feels alive. I will recommend this salon because of the knowledge and the care that the owner has, which have blown me away. And now I will be having my monthly treatment with her. It's true!!!!!! Sheria helped me grow my hair back. I've always had thin hair, but 10+ yrs ago my hair really started thinning out. What happened? Stylist after stylist; product after product, and nothing helped. To make matters worse, I began getting my hair braided. Soon, I cut it short and began going in for my weekly burn out (blow out, press, and flat iron). I found Sheria on Yelp in Jan. 2020 and it was her pictures that convinced me to give her a chance. On my first visit we discussed my concerns, I shared my reasons my hair wouldn't grow back and I was really only there to maintain what I had left. Sheria quickly gave me hope and told me to trust the process. During the visit she talked me through everything she was doing; we discussed what she would do on future visits and she sent me home with maintenance tools. I did everything she told me to but I wasn't really expecting growth. To my surprise that is not what happened at all! After only seeing Sheria for 3 months the pandemic hit, and it put a halt to things. However, I continued to use the products she recommended and, my hair started to grow. In essence, the pandemic really helped me because I was able to slow down and be consistent with what was recommended. Now, I really didn't have any idea how bad my hair was until Sheria posted those pictures (see attached). When I saw the pictures I was really bothered. I couldn't believe my hair looked like that and I had been going to a stylist every two weeks and it hadn't been mentioned. I'm glad I told Sheria to take the pics because I wanted to help other women like the pics on Yelp had helped me. Sheria is not just a stylist, she's really into hair care! This is not a paid endorsement, and I wasn't asked to write a review. I tell Sheria all the time I would recommend ladies who are in need of special care, to go see her as long as I could keep my time slot because she is the truth! The shop: The shop is welcoming. You're not sitting around for hours waiting to be serviced, because she doesn't overbook. Her assistant Maritza is very nice, and the two of them work together to get you in and out. There's a hair braider Marie at the shop, I've watched her braid kid's hair and never seen them complain or cry. So, while you're being serviced your kids can also get serviced. When I originally went to the salon, I was intrigued by the willingness to work with people with damaged hair! Prior to going to that salon my hair was natural for two years and it did have a bit of dryness so that first appointment she cut more off that I really thought she needed to cut off ...and she put a relaxer in and it looked OK. Fast forward a year I wanted to put some fun color in my hair and I explain to her that I wanted purple ...the month prior to getting the purple in the pictures , she had done this sort of maroon-ish color which is not what I asked for ...she told me to come back the following month and she do the purple the way I wanted to ...I came back she put the bleach in my hair or color corrector or whatever it was and I noticed when I got out of the bowl ( washing ) after they blow dried it ...my hair was fried and it was just falling out all over the apron and I thought that was odd ? When I got home I realized that chucks of hair had broke off .. under the 2 curls in the front of my hair , I had NO HAIR ... that was right before they shut down the country due to Covid .. so fast forward when they decided to open up the country and let people go to the barbers and stuff I went back to her shop told her what happened ...she turned around and said to me well you must've done something to your hair to make it fall out... I had four or five really bad patches of missing hair ... i'm not a hairdresser I have no idea how to use bleach and colors I have no idea how to mix those things....instead of her taking the responsibility for messing up my hair ...she blamed it on me ....that day when she did my hair she threw a little bit of relaxer in their and put her curling iron on low curled my hair so it look like I still had 4C hair and sent me out the door I haven't went back since then.... I will never recommend her to my friends and family ... even though her shop is beautiful ,it's in a great place ,in a great building ,it's clean ...I still would not recommend her to anybody because of what she did to me HydroCortizone and seabreeze will not fix your hair if something is wrong with your skin ,scalp, follicles or whatever ....she swears by that and it doesn't work ....it didn't work for me... so instead of her being a know it all, she should've found another solution if she was really concerned about a customers hair care.... Even if a response was offered I will not be bullied ! The response YOU posted is EXACTLY what I expected!! This is a review which I'm allowed to post ? This is my experience? And the fact that no one has marked " helpful or not helpful " I really don't think anyone has seen it ! Lol ... And if you have Cameras , then it should have recorded what YOU said about, " You must have done something to your hair !" And the Cameras will also show all the broke off bleached hair that was falling out the day you did the color ??? So look at that ? I refuse to go back and forth ? One bad review will not make or break you ! But, again I'm allowed to post a review of my experience.. please forward your attorney information to me so I can review, and forward to MY Council. My review is a synopsis and a shortened version of the events , my hair STILL has not recovered, but thank goodness I found a wonderful salon ‍ that will work with me biweekly to Strengthen my hair !!! Sheria is as good as it gets! From the moment you check in, she and her staff are attentive and even doting on clients. Immediately upon entering the gorgeously decorated facility my coat and handbag and placed in a cart to roll around w me so I wouldn't have to worry about where to place my items, followed by: "What would you like to drink .. would you like a snack?". It's total self love experience here. Sheria provided "my big chop". I was shampooed, deep conditioned, and then given a steam treatment. She took great care to perform an amazing precision cut on my hair after 10 years of locs, she cut away all the hair we didn't need and still left lots more for styling as it was still healthy and even more vibrant than ever before. The conversation was wonderful and I felt really at home, as she gave some great tips on how to care for my new cut.
