First time patron at Jonathan's Grille - East Ridge, TN. Beautiful early October Saturday for lunch. Aside from the seasonal Halloween decor, the black and brown trim lends a slightly sophisticated feel and despite the openness of the dining room, still maintained a comfiness. Our server Sophie, was engaging, cheerful and energetic. My friend recommended the Bison Burger, and I happily ordered this "better than beef" (nutritionally) option. All I can say is Wow! I ordered it to be cooked well, and somehow the cook managed to not burn it too much but inside was completely grey. Meat was seasoned just right.With the addition of red onion, avocado, tomato and pickles,I was in food heaven. The veggie medley was really easy to love with julienned red pepper, yellow squash & carrot & brocoli. The whole combo was The Bomb!! Ice tea was fresh & strong with decent size lemon quarters. Amazing food as always. Got seated at a booth with a few of my friends, and immediately was greeted by our server, Mj. She was so kind and made sure we were well taken care of! Good service and great American bar food is how I would best describe Jonathan's Grille. The burgers (at least mine) are not your average every day burger. It had some sort of hot sauce on it that had the absolute perfect spice. It wasn't a good burger, it was a great burger! The fries were fantastic too, hot crispy and fresh out of the fryer. My wife had the Buffalo chicken pizza, it was nothing to sneeze at ether. The chicken was tender and the sauce was spot on. I would definitely order it again. Bar area is comfortable and welcoming with plenty of big screen TVs all around where you can see the big game no matter where you are sitting. Great just go relax with friends place!!! They have a patio that has corn hole! For only over 21. The chicken nachos are so good all I posted empty plate.. The patio is open seating and they allow smoking on the patio. The servers are always checking on you, they don't let the drinks run out. read more

Jonathan's Grille is located across the street from Bass Pro in Chattanooga. It's a quiet location not much going on there. We stopped to actually try the Taco joint next door but that had a Chipotle vibe and I am just not a fan of cafeteria style Mexican food. So we decided to try Jonathan's. Upon entering the place was very clean with lots of seating options. We were met straight away by the hostess and seated. Drink orders were taken and the service was fast. We both ordered burgers. She went for a classic American cheeseburger and I had the hot bacon cheeseburger with the lettuce tomato and onion on the side. I am so glad I opted for them on the side. The tomato and onion were absolutely rotten and should have never left the kitchen except in a garbage bag. The burger wasn't much to speak for either. Her fries came and they were cold. Our waitress got the manager involved and she brought out fresh fries, but even the second round of vegetables were just as bad as the first. She did take five dollars off the bill, so that's a small token. The hot bacon burger is listed to have spicy bacon and pimento cheese. It had the bacon and just a little dab of pimento cheese. Nothing special about it really. I am just grateful I didn't order a salad. read more

Everything here is great. We have been coming here for over a year now and never disappoints. We come here often on game days. They have a big menu and something for everyone. Our favorites are the cauliflower crust veggie/cheese pizza and the buffalo chicken pizza and all the different apps. The ranch here is so good. They also have so many options ex. Jalapeno and spicy. They have the best happy hour options and it's not just certain times. They have deals on beer like their 2 for 1 on beer of the month and they even do 2 for 1 on their seltzers. Service here is exceptional. We have never been disappointed except for once out of the 20 times we have been. This is a great place for family and friends. As a bonus esp on game days. There's good food and there's good service. Two things we all hope to find in a restaurant. And that is certainly true for our experience at Jonathan's grill. The blackened and Grilled Chicken dishes were flavorful and not dry (as is often the case for these seemingly simple approaches to chicken. ) We know, however that there is something of an art to getting it right and especially challenging when you are serving lots of people. Our server was indeed just the right amount of attention without hovering. But added to this dining experience was what happened the next day, when, on our way to Florida I realized I had forgotten my purse at Jonathan's. Too late to turn around I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager who confirmed that indeed it was located in the lost and found. He offered to send it on to our vacation destination without any hint of impatience or being put upon. In fact this was all done with a kindness and empathy that made his forgetful traveler continue with confidence. I can only imagine that this is the kind of leadership energy and spirit that shapes a place. It certainly was reflected in our overall experience. The food was pretty good. The pizza was really good. I would definitely come back and try other options and order the Greek pizza again. My husband ordered the tenders. They were okay. The Caribbean sauce to my husband was a little sweet, and when I tried it, it tasted like a Buffalo sauce. The tenders were tough. It seemed like they were either chicken breast cut up, or not marinated. It was a nice atmosphere. The service was nice. I would go back. I don't know if I would say "Oh yes! They need a better drink selection. The food is good tho. I had the shrimp egg rolls I give them a 10/10. They were toooo good and I wouldn't more of them but they are $14. I also got the Alfredo with shrimp and salmon, it was a little bland for me so I added some salt and pepper. Pricey but was a good experience. This is a great addition to the local food scene. I would call it a foodies take on a sports bar. The service was impeccable with the place at 85-90% capacity food came promptly which I did not expect based on volume. Presentation was superb, slightly different twist on each dish made it refreshing. I tend to be the type that finds a good dish at a resturant and just sticks with it. This will not be the case here. I went to Jonathan's this week for dinner with a friend. They have a good menu with a lot of variety. We arrived at 5 pm and were able to get a table easily. I opted for the Caribbean chicken with wild rice and steamed vegetables. I liked that it comes with a small side salad, something a lot of restaurants make you pay extra for. The food ended up being just ok. The side salad was simple but good. The chicken was fairly dry, sadly. The wild rice was a little underdone. I was given French fries instead of the steamed veggies, though the waitress did correct this mistake. There was nothing wrong with the flavor of anything, but nothing was just really great. I would put the food in the so-so category. If someone were to suggest going I would give it another try, but I wouldn't choose to go again on my own. read more

My husband and I were passing through Chattanooga, Tennessee from Houston, Texas. When we stopped for the night we were exhausted and extremely hungry. Being Louisiana creoles we don't mess around when it comes to cooking and finding the best restaurants.
