Highly recommend. I could not be happier with my experience with the team at Powell. From start to…read morefinish, they were professional, responsive, and easy to work with. We hired Powell to paint the exterior of our home and their carpentry services to replace several rotted window frames for a three story house. Andre stopped by to perform the initial exam and was very thorough and knowledgeable on the work that needed to be done. Unlike other painters I contacted, the Powell team was easy to contact and actually showed up on time for the scheduled time slot. Their quote for the project came in right around the same as other quotes we received, and it was well worth the cost. I can't praise the level of service you get with Powell. Stephanie, who handles scheduling and billing, was on top of communications so that I didn't have to worry about anything. Even the owner, Bryan, stopped by at the beginning to inspect a few leaks we had in our ceiling to help us determine whether there were other issues beyond repairing the rotted windows for us to consider. They will even bring out the drone for inspection if you have a tall home. As additional rotted windows were discovered during the power washing, work orders to add additional work was clear and simple. Once the work actually began, it went so smoothly. Andre stopped by every morning and afternoon to check in and update us. Our crew, Thiago and Breno, were incredibly hard workers. They were at our home by 7:30 am every morning despite the terrible traffic and often worked past 7 pm even during a heat wave. The guys were experts on the ladders despite having a few high, tricky spots to get to. The worksite was clean after each day which I was grateful for as we have a toddler running around. The entire project took 10 days. While it moved fast, it didn't feel rushed and no corners were cut to finish quickly. They even paused the project for 2 days because of rain so that we didn't run the risk of streaky paint. After the work was completed, they insisted on us contacting them if we weren't satisfied with any part of the project. Our home looks completely transformed and brand new. I cannot recommend Powell Painting enough for a stress free and professionally done project.

Working with Powell has been one of the best experiences I have had as a new homeowner…read more I reached out to Powell to see if they would be willing to paint the basement room in the townhouse that serves as my movie room\home office. The color that the prior owners picked while nice was a bit too dark for such a small room. They responded to my inquiry the same day and arranged a date and time to stop by and look at the room. Bryan and Andre arrived exactly on time and took a look at the room. Super friendly, patient, and willing to address any questions and concerns. As part of the renovation of the room, I was planning on replacing the carpet and asked him if I should do it before painting the room or after. He strongly suggested to replace the carpet first since the installers tend to scuff the baseboards terribly as they are ripping the old carpet out. I followed his advice and did the carpet first and sure enough the baseboards were in such bad shape after that had I painted I would have had to repaint them. I'm so thankful for that. On the day of the job, Bryan and Andre introduced me to Freddie who would be painting the room for me. Super friendly, professional, and honest. After grabbing the paint, he laid down tarp to cover the brand new carpet and got to work on the walls. It's amazing how quickly he was able to paint this room. It felt as if every move was calculated. What's more impressive is that he conversed with me the entire time! During the end of day 1, Freddie called me over and informed me that the two coats of paint that the quoted me for the job would not be sufficient for cover the walls and they will need to grab another can of paint. I asked him how much extra would I need to pay on top of the quote and said nothing. They told me it would take two coats, it didn't, so it was on them to make it right. Freddie told me he already informed Bryan and he would stop by the paint store tomorrow to grab another can of paint on their dime. I wasn't expecting that at all but greatly appreciated it. In the early afternoon of the second day the room was done. I thanked Freddie and waited for the paint to dry before heading down to plan out moving furniture back in. It was then that I noticed that there were some areas in the room that we not completely covered. I reached out to Stephanie and she called back soon after and told me that Freddie would be stopping by again later the SAME day to take a look. True to their word, Freddie stopped by and took a look at the walls now that they were dry and he confirmed the coverage issues. He grabbed paint and did another pass on the walls which removed the old color. After Freddie departed I started to notice that that wall color is much much warmer that I expected. I tried various color temps on the lights to no effect. I took a look at the sample patch in the other room and confirmed that it looked very different and that maybe I might have made an expensive mistake with the paint choice for this room. On a whim I took a few pics and emailed Stephanie with my concerns. I figured at this point they'll I'm crazy and I didn't expect to hear back. After all, I chose the paint color, they painted the room perfectly, their task is done. An hour after I send the email I get a call, it was Bryan. He looked at the photos, and saw the same thing that I have seen, and he and Stephanie have been trying to figure out the root cause. It turned out that there was some miscommunication and an incorrect shade of white was used on the doors and trim causing white walls to become warmer than they should. He apologized and asked to send a couple of painters the following day with the correct paint to address. I already felt bad about Freddie having to come back so I told Bryan not to rush but he insisted. He knew I took the week off to clear out the room to get it painted, and he wanted to get the job done so I have the weekend to put everything back together so I can work on Monday. 7am the following morning Andre and another painter arrived with the correct paint and took a little over an hour to repaint the doors and trim. As soon as I stepped into the room the walls immediately cooled down. And the state of the brand-new carpet after they were done? Spotless. I love the room now. Snow like color make the room feel bigger and more comfortable. It's easily my favorite place in the house. If you're looking for painting service for your home and are within the service area don't bother looking anywhere else. It's not just the quality of their work (which is outstanding), it's their level of accountability. They will do everything to ensure that the job is done and that you are happy. They came back to my home at two separate occasions to complete one room and I didn't pay a penny more than what was initially quoted to me. I cannot recommend Powell enough and can't wait until I can get them to paint other areas of the home.

My family had the tools but NOT the know-how to build up-to-code stairs for the public. We called upon our 2015 porch 'hero' company, Progress Contracting Corp., owned by Tim & Nicole Fiorillo to ask if they could somehow give my husband and son the ins and outs to do goabout building the stairs. While this company may build high-end homes, Tim knows the value of mentoring others to build well-structured safe things that stand the test of time--Progress Contracting listens and they make their clients happy. West Roxbury's Stratford Street Church was over-the-moon grateful to get Progress Contracting Corp's gift of time and assistance with the measuring, mitering, sawing, mentoring, etc. that allowed my husband, Peter Low, and our son, Aidan, to construct them a set of amazing 'rolling/locking' stairs for the Church. He communicated with us throughout the project of installing a new Timberteck deck. His crew worked straight on through from start to finish without empty lapses of time. The men are so highly skilled. We continue to be happy with our beautiful deck. We'd been concerned that installments like this would compromise the brick, whereby requiring a total rebuild, but a rebuild wasn't necessary. They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

If only Yelp offered a ZERO or NEGATIVE star rating, I would do it in a heartbeat. This "repair…read moreservice" was contracted by our landlord to replace some damaged doors on our property. The first day, they showed up unannounced to the wrong house despite allegedly being the same vendors that came and measured the doors in the first place a week prior. Ok, maybe they have lots of customers and are spacey, whatever. During the job, they loudly complained about the whole thing. Ok, sorry you hate the job you're being paid to do, guys, that's not my problem (they forgot I was still in the house for this part). The job took much, much longer than intended, but whatever, at least it was done. That evening I couldn't get in my driveway until I cleaned up the trash and sealant they left there. Like, actual tube of sealant that I didn't feel like running over. But it was dark and raining so I didn't get a chance to really give the place a thorough looking over. Inside, however, there was a lot of dirt and debris and pieces of door hardware and packaging all over the floor. Some of the screw covers for the window frame on the inner door were all over the floor as well. Realizing the job was a bit difficult since the house is older and the new doors were not a perfect fit, I swept it up. Lots of large pieces of plastic that would've been bad for my pets, but a quick sweep took care of it. There was damage and gouges all around our door jamb on the trim, and splintered wood on the floor on what should have been the new bottom to the door but that's all cosmetic and I can paint it over and sand it down no problem. Not that big a deal. That brings us to today, where I've found another four large screws and nails. AND, a 9"+ saw blade. A sharp, serrated saw blade. We're not the only ones that use our driveway, there are children, neighbors, and pets that go through there. Also we have cars that can be damaged by this mess. And pets that can be injured. Everything else I mostly brushed off, but a saw blade? NO. So I called. I spoke to a man (didn't get his name, but at this point don't care about his name) and about halfway in he got very defensive, he got belligerent and started screaming that they don't even use nails or screws. Then he started yelling that I shouldn't even be talking about this. Ultimately, after having a full blown tantrum he hung up on me. Professional, right? I'm so disgusted with this place, my landlord knows all about them now as well and honestly I would not use this company if my life depended upon it. Sloppy, careless, incompetent, and beyond unprofessional and inappropriate. Would never use again. Ever!
