It's easily the best cafe de olla I've ever had, and I travel a lot and frequent a LOT of coffee shops. As a concha aficionado, I also had the pleasure of trying a couple of their conchas. The conchas are so fluffy and perfectly sweet. They're a generous size that's perfect for sharing too. Service was exceptional. The cafe was quiet during the day which is perfect for folks working remotely. I'm super excited to come back and try some more drinks. These scones are not muffins in disguise, which means the texture is a bit drier and more crumbly--perfect alongside a hot beverage. For my drink, I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte. I was hoping to have it served in an actual ceramic mug, but those are only offered to customers who order drip coffee. That said, they made a very good London Fog, with a little extra lavender and plenty of foam. For my taste, it could have been a bit hotter. Service: Everyone who helped us was kind and helpful and gave us plenty of time to choose the perfect pastries. When ordering the London Fog, they explained how they make theirs and how they would add the extra lavender, which I appreciated. As mentioned above, they do not provide mugs for specialty drinks, using mugs instead to keep track of customers who have paid for bottomless drip coffee. I could bring my own mug from home, but I am not a fan of carrying around coffee shop essentials. Atmosphere: The building is nicely designed on the outside and sits on a corner with plenty of large windows that bring in natural light. It faces north, so you avoid the glaring morning sun. Upon entering, there is a short walk to the counter, where you can view all of the bakery and pastry items. A menu board above clearly displays the breakfast and lunch offerings, making it easy for first time visitors. There are numerous tables that accommodate small groups, and a fireplace with a couple of upholstered chairs offers a cozy seating option. Cheese is also included, so since I'm not a huge cheese eater, I was pleased when the kitchen understood my request for a very light hand with it. The kitchen also understands how to make dry-scrambled eggs. I can't stop thinking about this dish and wondering when next I'll be able to enjoy it. I also ordered their black iced tea, which was strongly brewed (my personal preference over the pale stuff that too many places serve) and very refreshing. My brunch companion ordered the raspberry scone, and I was lucky enough to enjoy a bite. The scone was perfect--fluffy, wonderfully moist, and drizzled with just enough sweet icing. She also tried the special drink, which was a cherry cola coffee. This was not something she enjoyed.
