I ordered the breakfast burger (no bacon), the salad sampler with wild rice, walnut chicken, and quinoa salad, and a jumbo Reese's cookie. The salad sampler was just as flavorful as I remembered, the burger was delicious, especially with the egg, and the cookie was so good I forgot to take a picture before eating it. They specialize in breakfast and brunch and typically close around 3 PM, so plan accordingly. Continues to be a go-to for brunch & lunch! Had a recent visit, the first time in quite a few months, so was happy to return. Met my mom for lunch and arrived to a busy restaurant. The host was quick to put our name in and hand us a beeper that would alarm us after a 10-15 minute wait. We were sat in a booth with menus, including one for seasonal specials. Honestly, I always love choosing from that menu because it means something new. Opted for a cup of their chicken and white bean soup to start, along with the farro salad which was delicious and statiating. Cafe 1505 is such a hidden gem of a cafe - your classic, slightly elevated, breakfast/lunch spot that has a solid menu and is family-friendly. I have been here twice for breakfast now and just love the classic and cozy ambience - There's lots of windows so it's always sunny and welcoming. This past time we went with our kiddos and sat in a booth. They shared a mickey mouse kids pancake which was HUGE, thank goodness they shared haha no way would either of my kids (3 and 5) consume that on their own. First time here. Stopped in for a lunch. Was impressed with the experience. Attentive service, lots of good menu choices, and atmosphere was causal. Started off with an ice tea, and Chai Latte. Stopped in for lunch with a coworker. The wait was going to be 20 minutes so we opted to eat in their deli area(it's still full service with a server). We ordered a plain Caesar salad and chicken salad. My coworker is gluten free and our server was kind enough to point out their gluten free options. This was our second time here, but the first time we sat down to eat. This restaurant is split into a traditional cafe with baked goods and coffees on one side of the hall, and a restaurant and bar on the other. It was about 90% full when we sat down just before 8am on a Friday. One thing that inspired our return trip here was the fun menu. They have creative specials as well as all the classics you'd expect, and breakfast cocktails if you're so inclined. This time, the food was just average. It was fresh, but quite underseasoned and not exactly what I would have expected from a Southwest (Home) Fries breakfast. The pork belly quiche special was tasty though. A notable down point was the service. We were forgotten after asking for a moment to look at the list of coffee drinks and I had to approach the bar after waiting another 15 minutes. The food arrived pretty quickly but I had to make another trip up to the front to get a check, pay, and get boxes. As I said, it was relatively busy, but I would not expect service delays like this for breakfast. We'll give them another chance, most likely just to grab coffees and bakery items. read more

However, this week, we found ourselves in Mequon for a couple of appointments. My husband and I LOVE a good pancake - we always get an order of pancakes for the table whenever we go to breakfast or brunch. I will say this is probably the BEST pancake we've ever had. A short stack is 2 gargantuan pancakes (like 12in diameter) with about 1/2 of fluffy rich deliciousness to each. We each got scrambled eggs and bacon with greens (other option is toast, but I wanted to focus all my carby elements on these pancakes). Eggs were OK, maybe a little overcooked, bacon was perfect and crispy. The service was lacking, waitress stopped by once or twice but I was usually having to flag her down for more water & coffee. It was fine and speedy on a casual Monday brunch, but on the weekend I think this could be disastrously slow and inattentive. I really cannot wrap my mind around why I had not visited Cafe 1505 before, given all the time I spend in Mequon. A cozy, open cafe with a bonus deli and coffee bar, this is far superior to the nearby First Watch, in pretty much every way. Service was attentive, even after our visit stretched far beyond an hour as we sat talking with our friends. We were seated quickly and the waitress brought coffee and took our order in a very timely manner. Waited over 15 minutes for our check and we had to approach the hostess to get coffee. I cannot recommend this restaurant. I ordered the frittata. It was completely flavorless. When I asked about it I was rudely told by the manager that they do not season eggs. Not even with salt. I really liked coming in here for the first time. You first walk in infront of you is the sit in restaurant Cafe then to the right of you is a shop and the left is the coffee Cafe. They have a small bakery area and some deli items. I bought some apple cheesecake bars which were soooo good apple pieces creamy moist delicious pieces of heaven. This place is adorable. It's in a little strip mall hidden away in Mequon. My coworker and I went for lunch today and we were fairly impressed! First, I love that they support local. Second, the food was super quick & the portions were huge! Third, you could tell the servers work together well. We had one girl come up to us and ask us what we'd like to drink, and she got the lattes started for us so our server had some time to greet us. The food was really good. The salmon Cobb salad is something I would 100% get again. My Turkey sandwich was good, but I felt like it was missing something. There weren't any veggies on there which I think would have made it a tad better. The Turkey was also just a little dry - i did get my sauce on the side though so maybe that would have solved the problem. Whatever multigrain bread it came on though was fabulous. Our server was a little dry (she didn't even tell us her name just kinda cut right to the chase and told us specials) but we could tell she was busy and had many tables so I'm thinking that's maybe why. She wasn't rude by any means, just not super bubbly! But it's not something that would stop me from coming back here. My coworker and I were at orientation for our new job in brown deer and both of us are sad we are stationed in oconomowoc, otherwise we'd be back for lunch way more often! I've been to Cafe 1505 quite a few times and it's definitely one of my favorite brunch spots. The location is convenient and is located right on the lakeside/Port Washington Rd hub of Mequon. Right, when you walk in there's a very cozy vibe. Depending on the dining experience that you're looking for you can find a restaurant setting on the right and a more traditional cafe/deli experience to the left with the exact same menu(the cafe area has really great looking desserts which I'm very mad that I still haven't tried). There's even an outdoor patio in the summer that's both homey and gorgeous. I've tried a lot of the menu from their sandwiches to their omelets which have all been very tasty. What makes their menu really great is that they have a weekly rotation of specials that are each unique and delicious. I ordered their chicken and waffles which was super untraditional as instead of just being fried chicken on a waffle it was a waffle with pulled chicken marinated in salsa verde, a poached egg, and hollandaise sauce.
