I have never rated a place just for an oil change before (if I did, I don't remember), but this place deserved 5 stars. I arrived there and was greeted nearly as I made a full stop, they immediately took my car into a bay and 10 minutes later it was done. My car requires full synthetic or a synthetic blend which is usually $75+ after the fees, so I was really surprised when I went to pay and was charged $63... So got it done much faster than prob any place I've taken a car in nearly 30 years of driving, but also at least $10 cheaper than the cheapest place I've found (Walmart, but also comes with 1 hour+ for the way) read more

They closed in November and Valvoline now owns the spot. They probably got some old techs from Jon's, but it will be different for sure. My last oil change from Jon's was $68, and I asked the current tech working there and they told me it would cost me about $115-120 for an oil change there, so I just got up and left. I have used Jon's EZ Lube a few times for oil changes & a vehicle inspection. They are always fast, courteous and affordable. The last time I was there, I overheard the young woman who was answering the phone calm the caller who was worried about not arriving in time for an oil change before Jon's closed. The employee assured her they would get her taken care of and asked her not to rush and to drive safely. It stuck out to me as unique because I've heard many other businesses just tell customers to come the next day. I was welcomed by Larry the moment I drove up to the location, and told him what I needed and he told me the prices up front including tax. I waited outside and they were done in under an hour. My go-to oil change and light maintenance while living in Denton/Dallas, Texas over the last COVID year. You drive up, next to the lime green, vintage VW bus and they take your order. An oil change includes your choice of synthetic or regular oil, fluid top off, tire inspection, air pressure fill and a light cleaning of your interior, all in under 20 minutes or so. My daughter goes to college in Denton, she is having to find places where she can get things taken care of on her own. For her car normally we bring it home for all maintenance, unfortunately we couldn't this time. We needed an oil change and tire rotation and she was going to have to go by herself. We discussed that sometimes places can tell you that your car needs other items in a form of an up charge or add-on. She was ready should this conversation come up. I am so happy to report it did not! They took great care of her and her car and even added the student discount she didn't even know existed. She was in and out and said the people were friendly and helpful, she never once felt uncomfortable. We will be coming back for sure! I really like coming to this place for maintenance of my car and inspection. I've never been to any other car mechanic that was as friendly and welcoming. There's rarely been much of wait before they could get to my car even though I typically always come here on weekends. Their prices are fair and they give a good explanation of what they did. I've been using quick oil change businesses for years. Having moved to the area just recently, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and quality workmanship at Jon's. I drove right over and someone helped me right away they were knowledgeable about what oil my car needed but confirmed with me before they started. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I've moved all over DFW and still travel here for every oil change, inspection and any kind of work my Hyundai needs. Jon and Larry run this place so smooth. Never have I pulled up and not had someone come out to greet me and start working on my car within 10 minutes of me arriving. They are honest and incredibly helpful and they never overcharge for their services or upsell me anything unless I really need it. As person who is pretty ignorant about vehicle maintenance I was always nervous about going to car repair shops and getting the run around/ being sold things I don't need just to capitalize off my naivety. When the time comes to get my oil changed, I tend to put it off for as long as I can because it makes me so nervous going to just another shop for the workers to try to upsell me. After reading already positive reviews on this location, I decided to go for it and was not disappointed! They were quick to get me in, but that's about the only positive thing I can say. I am supremely disappointed with the results. I came in with a 20 year old Camry that needed to be jumped every other time I drove it. The battery was new, so I figured it had to be the alternator. They diagnosed a bad alternator and gave me the high price of $300 to replace the single part. I agreed. But while they were replacing it, I guess they didn't notice the pigtail that attaches directly to the alternator was falling literally apart. So a few months later, my car wouldn't start again. I took it to Charlie Beck's and they told me the pigtail to the alternator was crumbling into pieces. Sometime after buying the new part from Jon's EZ Lube, that failing part sent a power surge through my car that roasted my new alternator(again) , my new battery(again), half of my fuses, and destroyed my stereo. I'm just a little upset that it seems they rushed through the job rather than looking at a piece that was attached to the very item they were replacing! Another mechanic spotted the problem in 5 minutes, and if they had noticed that, I would have saved hundreds of dollars in parts and labor as well as avoiding destroying my new stereo to replace some $20 pigtail! I feel taken advantage of. Either they weren't paying attention or they were deliberately negligent to get me to pay more at a later date.
