I stopped by Jonuzi's earlier in the week and talked to the owner, Ron. They've just moved to Texas about two months ago. One of the first things you notice if you really know East Coast (NY/NJ) pizza is that they have garlic powder on the counter - something you don't see very often here but one of the things that defines East Coast pizzerias. I bought a "slice" (and I put it in quotes because when a slice measures 12" that most of a pie in some places). To me the best way to judge a pizza is a plain old-fashioned cheese pizza. No toppings to mask the flavor of the sauce or the texture of the crust. If you east your pizza NY/NJ style and gently fold the slice you find that even with a humongous slice it doesn't droop. The crust is chewy with excellent texture. The sauce has a good taste and doesn't overwhelm the pie either. All in all I now have to say that it's a toss up between Enzo's in Flower Mound or Januzzi's in Denton. Since Januzzi's is so close to me I think this will be my go-to place I was back again today and had a slice with meatball. Pure heaven!! read more

By far, the best pizza in Denton. Huge slices and pies for a reasonable price. The owner and his family are wonderful people who treat you like a friend when you come into the shop. The pizza itself - the crust is incredible, doughy, yet with enough firmness to make you want to dip your crust into marinara sauce which you can always get on the side. The sauce is great, not too sweet or having too much of that "oregano" taste. They are GENEROUS with the cheese and toppings as well. Try the Alfredo Chicken pizza, add bacon and onions! Or just a regular ol cheese w/ pepperoni, you will be impressed. They have sandwiches, wings and salads as well but it's the pizza that their reputation is built on. They've also got some great daily specials, available on their menu that you should take advantage of. A large 2 topping for $12? This ain't no Dominoe's pizza. Great value, great food, great price. What else is there? Definitely try this place out and I promise you, you will leave chain pizza in the rear view. read more

Wow... I must say that this is one of the better finds I've had in awhile. I didn't know what to expect when I saw that they had New Jersey style pizza but man was I in for a treat! The pizza here is outstanding. I haven't had pizza of this quality the entire 8 years that I've lived in this town, or even Texas for that matter. It's absolutely delicious and It also has a great variety of product. The burger I purchased was mouthwatering and was much better than any burger that I had at the whataburger across the highway. The chicken Caesar salad was actually really appetizing as the chicken was actually grilled rather than the normal cold chicken shreds out of a package. I can't stop going here as it becomes a place I have to make a trip to at least twice a week. I'm so glad that a place like this has finally come to this town. Driving by this place I decided to look into it as pizza in Denton has been left wanting. I was excited to see it was called the best pizza in Denton. I waited until Sunday. My order number was 4. My pizza would deliver at 12:27 pm. 12:52 it arrived cold. Microwave it and found the crust ok. Better than frozen Tony's. Sauce wasn't sweet and I guess dark flavor. Not overpowering like so many others. Topping's- ........ I'm still looking for them. Little tiny cubes. Not big enough to add flavor or texture. All in all I'll take dominoes over this one and dominoes pizza is bad. read more

Finally, an authentic Italian restaurant opens up in Denton and in a very convenient spot too! (I'm in the Southridge neighborhood) I've met the owner and his whole family and they're all good people who make awesome food. The Chef's Calzone has been my go-to and it is BIG. My brother and the rest of my room mates agree Jonuzi's is easily the most quality and best tasting pizza this side of Denton. Give it a try I promise you will be glad you did! read more

I recently had the chance to have my family try there pizza. They loved it! my wife highly enjoyed her margarita pizza they had. She ate half a small by herself. and their small is the size a domino's or pizza hut medium. My son had 2 of slices of their large alone it filled him up. This is a hidden gem in Denton. I've had the philly and chicken parm subs, hot wings, mozzarella sticks, and several specialty pizzas. All are fantastic. I recommend the hot wings and mozzarella sticks. For pizza, try to the buffalo chicken. Great crust on the pizza. read more
