Our air conditioner went out right at the beginning of the year. I contacted a couple companies and Jorge was the easiest to work with. He was able to squeeze us into his schedule. He captured videos from the rooftop showing the problems with the existing system and proposed a couple different solutions. When I checked with the other companies, they had higher prices and a longer wait for scheduling, so I chose Jorge. At first I didn't hear from him the night before, but sure enough he was there at 5:30 AM getting the job done so that cool air was blowing before noon when it started getting hot out. So...like many Yelpers, I was pretty bummed to see Flores Air Conditioning (owner: Miguel) close for business, and even more dismayed when I started getting carpet-bombed with marketing materials from Climate Pro. A quick search on yelp showed that Climate Pros are, well, not exactly "pros" when it comes to customer service and maybe perhaps lacking in integrity and reasonable billing practices. :-( When my unit started acting all funky after I had a whole home flood (contractors took it upon themselves to run my AC in the summer at 62 degrees with the doors wide open during an extensive reno/rebuild...for the love) I took to yelp again, hoping to find someone who had a new suggestion for a Flores replacement, and my man (or woman?) J. S., happened to respond to my desperate Yelp Message plea and said he actually had the phone contact of someone who split off from the original Flores AC before Miguel closed his business. Yeah...it's confusing. Long story long, I took a chance, called Jorge hoping he would maybe be willing to come to south Scottsdale to give my TRANE AC a little TLC. And..he was and did! Turns out he has his own fully-fledged HVAC business and the service and care reminded me exactly of what I had come to know and love about his brother's former business. My TRANE unit is 6 years old, so probably just a touch of out warranty, and since I don't know anything about HVAC, they could've said I needed a new motor (ca-ching!) but instead just needed only a capacitor (less ca-ching...although I honestly have no idea what a capacitor is or does haha). For such a quick visit, I could've been hosed money-wise, but he informed me it'd be a cheap part plus a service call fee. Wow! I mean, geez, I was so appreciative to not get ripped off like I have been since Flores Air closed down that I gave him a hug. Our ac unit stopped working. We contacted Jorge Flores Air Conditioning & Heating and he gave us a quote that was affordable for us. We kept in touch until we agreed on a day and time he could install our ac unit. Anytime we needed to get a hold of him by phone or text he responded right away or at least the same day. Jorge was professional, honest, and a pleasure to work with. He was my second call, the first HVAC company told me I needed a new unit, $8-10k. My units are 16 years old so I figured it might be time, but a friend referred Jorge and I called for a second opinion. He went up in the crawl space, checked everything, thermostats, fans, etc. After a thorough HVAC investigation, he was able to fix the unit for less than $400 with a part. He also went above and beyond and gave some TLC to a drain just because he wanted to make it more efficient (but it wasn't necessary). We've been relying on Jorge for all of our AC needs for over 10 years, starting back when he used to share a business with his brother. When they sold the company and Jorge went off on his own, we stuck with him. He kept our old unit running as long as possible and then installed a new one 5 years ago when the old one finally kicked the bucket. He has always come out to us same day when we need him which, of course, is always when the AC goes out on an 'excessive heat warning' day. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. Jorge is VERY honest which is what we all need in this type of industry. I received a total of three quotes and they all ranged from $135-$880. I'm not going to name names of those companies but it was clear that most of them were out to make money. Jorge made it clear that if something is broken he would fix it. Twice in recent months we have called him for minor issues and he treated those issues with the same priority as any other. I woke up at 4:45 in the morning and said to myself "Hm. My fridge stopped working, the ceiling fan stopped working, the dryer isn't heating, the microwave short circuited, and the toilet flush valve is broken. What else could go wrong?"
