My 20-year-old dark blue microfiber sectional was looking a bit deflated and sad. The seats were fine, but the pillows for the backs had been abused by my kids over the years and needed re-stuffing. The sofa was a quality piece of furniture that I bought via House of Values years ago. The sectional was in great shape, so it didn't need to be replaced, just made better looking. Patrick at Cre-8-a-Couch (who made a different sofa for me a couple of years ago) recommended that I take my blue sofa cushion backs to George for re-stuffing. It took a few weeks, but when the cushions were done, it made my sofa look and feel new again. I dare say, better than new! George's cost was reasonable and his company did excellent work. I requested quotes via Yelp for a pair of storage ottomans that I wanted reupholstered. They're pretty sturdy and still had some good life in them, if not for the peeling bonded leather that made them such an eyesore. Plus they were among my first pieces of non-Ikea furniture, and have a little bit of sentimental value for me. I gave them to my dad last year after we got rid of the coffee table. He likes them because he can put his feet on them. I could have gotten some cheaper replacements, but I couldn't bring myself to let them go. Anyway, George responded (politely!) to my request and after a few emails back and forth, he gave me a fair quote. I went yesterday with my ottomans to the shop to look at fabric samples. He had some leftover fabric already on hand, so he gave me a good deal. He estimated a week and a half for labor but surprisingly had them ready today. I had saved my grandmother's old chair to one day re-upholster...as it turned out, we opted to use it in our new nursery.
