Yesterday afternoon I had a bid form Jorge and today he and his crew worked at my home. Usually I need to book my tree guys many weeks in advance. I was trying to make more of a fire defensible space around my house. I needed some @50 feet of 60 year old Junipers removed on a fairly steep grade and a very large shrub pruned for my view. Just had my 90 year-old palm tree's "beard" trimmed, so the dead branches are gone and no longer a hazard or nuisance to my property. Jorge and his team did an excellent job! Jorge is very responsive and competitive. He even delivered free, good mulch for me to put in my yard. His guys work really hard and get the job done. I recommend you call him. Lost a star because they had a 100' carry from the tree to the chipper and didn't bring a wheelbarrow to transport the heavy trunk pieces being removed. They were working in the neighborhood and saw fit to park their chipper in front of my gate and use a large stone that I had carefully placed and dug in to retain soil flow in heavy rains as a chuck for the chipper wheel. I asked to have it replaced exactly as it had been and it was put back approximately and resentfully. Why don't they carry their own chuck? Why was the chipper in front of my gate? Why the attitude? They might do good work but they certainly aren't respectful of the neighbors. read more

Jorge is a total professional and gave me the best price of any of the tree services that I contacted. I had a large tree overhanging the house that had decay and needed to be removed, and another with a large branch that the insurance company wanted removed. Jorge and his crew handled those and some other issues and left the roof and the rest of the work area SPOTLESS! And they hand-carried all of the wood up and out the back gate and ground it up and left no residue behind. They had to hand-carry the stump grinder down stairs and back up when they finished. They damaged nothing, and did an excellent job on the stump. You can't even tell that there was a tree there. Also, this was in Larkspur, and the city requires a professional arborist's report to remove a larger tree. I used Dr. Kent Julin, PhD, an ISA Certified Arborist to do the report and I highly recommend him. He was fast, reasonably priced, and also totally professional. I've worked with Jorge and his team twice now. Most recently he and his team removed and hauled away a medium sized tree (30 foot) that broke trhough our fence with the high winds last week. On both occasions Jorge and his staff were kind, thorough, and careful. They also made quick work of the removal--clearly they are professionals. Their rates? Well they beat a previous bid by 25%. Hired him to cut down a tree. Either Jorge or one of his workers dug up a big patch of my front lawn with one of their vehicles in the process and ruined it. He promised to repair it, which he did. So I thought. I also hired him to fix another area of my lawn plus the area where the tree was cut down. Needless to say the grass never grew over the tree area. The rest of the grass came up ,but quickly died with many bare spots. I followed his instructions as far as watering is concerned.The laying down of the top soil was very sloppy with big lumps of soil all over. He even left big patches of the old grass in place instead of totally cleaning up the old grass. Also, his workers didn't put down enough seed in many spots. Really sloppy work.I couldn't believe how fast he and his crew finished the job. Now I know why. They didn't take their work seriously . All I heard was laughing and joking around.Plus after calling and texting him, he never got back to me about the situation or reseeding the tree area.Really poor customer service. He took the money and ran! I would not recommend this company to anyone who wants QUALITY landscaping and someone who will stand behind their work. I would give him zero stars if I could.Do yourself a big favor and go to a reliable company that does good work and stands behind it. Landscaping is NOT his specialty! Horrible company. read more

Jorge and his team did an outstanding job on our property. We live on a steep hill and needed to take down a large bay tree encroaching over our house and several smaller diseased trees. We also needed to remove brushes around the whole perimeter of the house. Jorge's team showed up on time and handled the tasks with utmost professionalism and expertise. Jorge was very prompt in giving us a quote and arrived on time with his team. They did a great job trimming all the trees on our property. The only issue was Jorge was not there to manage the guys the whole time (he was at another job site), so one the branches falling down from a taller tree hit our struggling pluot tree and took out a branch that was a prime producer of yummy fruit. They also chipped all the wood that we had asked be cut into logs for our woodpile so we ended up with only a few pieces by the time we noticed. Jorge apologized and offered to plant a new tree or give us a discount which we thought was reasonable. He personally trimmed our Japanese maple which apparently are more delicate trees and did a good job. His pricing was comparable and maybe a little less than the other companies we checked out. read more

I am mainly writing this for other people to have a heads up that you should get the quote from Jorge IN WRITING before hiring him! I had a couple of quotes where Jorge was only average pricing, but I hired him because I liked him, he was very understanding at the time of assessing my yard requirements and he seemed trustworthy. Unfortunately, on the day of the tree/yard work Jorge seemed to be having an off day. The crew worked hard but Jorge cut about 5 corners in the work he had promised. When I talked with him about our agreement he denied ever agreeing to all of the issues I brought up. He was completely unconcerned with going back on the agreement and instead just insisted I must be confused. I am glad my husband was there at the time we initially talked with him as he can confirm Jorge changed the agreement. When the crew left I felt cheated. Let my mistake benefit the others looking for tree work. Don't do what I did and trust without a written agreement! read more

We had a massive Black Acacia perched at the top of an embankment break off an enormous limb partially blocking the street below ours. The fire department cleared the limb, but the tree was obviously a safety hazard and had to be removed quickly. They were doing such a great job that we then asked if they wouldn't mind also grinding up the juniper stumps and taking out a few more sick trees and their stumps. The team stayed straight through until they were done -- after 7 pm -- working efficiently and doing a great job avoiding some tricky obstacles in taking down the trees.
