I entered Jos. A. Banks in Garden CITY after calling and speaking with a sales associate who was very personal and courteous. The selection of men's white shirts were very good and the value was reasonable. As speaking to an in store associate she assisted me in obtaining the right shirt I was seeking in the appropriate size. She was ,ore than courteous, friendly, and personal. I felt like I just walked into the scene of Pretty Woman when Julia Roberts is shopping at the fancy boutique with the huge exception this is a mall chain retail store. The first question asked to us was what's our price point. Then no one spoke to us, offer to help us, not even a how are you? Due to their dismissive behavior I thought maybe the justification is they are closing, so to my surprise they don't close for another 45 minutes. We had staff constantly hovering over us without asking us if we needed anything. It was disgusting treatment. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. We were so excited to get my boyfriend a new suit jacket for a wedding before he leaves to military base, they ruined it for us. I would never recommend this store. read more

I just want to thank the staff at Jos A. Bank at 80 Hillside Rd. Cranston, RI 02920. We arrive 15 minutes after closing, Driving from Burrillville in the rain. Attempting to find a couple last minute dress shirts and toes for my son. Anthony's assistant spotted us at the door. Anthony worked with me to keep me on a budget, yet find 19.5" and 20" x 35-36" sleeves dress shirts. He never complained once and was actually very welcoming to a late but desperate customer. Rented a tux for a friends wedding. Upon fitting they told me to show up the Wednesday before the wedding to ensure fitting was correct. On the Wednesday, I Drove 45 minutes only to be told the tux wasn't ready until Thursday. My wife picked it up on Thursday. Once I tried on the tux the pants were real baggy. I then went back to the jos a bank and had to buy black dress pants for another $60. The tux was extra cheap quality. The shirt was tissue paper thin and short. Everyone in our wedding party agreed...it was cheap. Because the wedding was out of town by the time I drove back to the store they were closed (they close at 6 on sundays). So that left Monday to return the tux where they promptly hit me with another $20 for late fee. Ironically, I volunteered to also drop off a friends tux from the wedding (also on Monday) but this time at Mens warehouse. They didn't say a word about the late fee and only said "thank you". 1 star. Do not recommend. read more

Before I explain what exactly happened, let me briefly explain my poor review. We decided to file a poor review because of his unwillingness to apologize for mistakes, offer a discount, or admit any wrongdoing; lateness of the order, and inaccuracy of the order. All in all, THEY ONLY GOT 2 OUT OF 9 ORDERS RIGHT. I visited Jos. A Bank to have myself, my brother and my dad measured for my sister's wedding. The store manager measured us at the end of June. The store manager couldn't figure out the computer system when they put in the wrong information and I had to help him even. We were ready to pick up the rental vest and pant on July 31 and the wedding was on Aug 2 on Friday but my wife called them to make sure all rental vests and pants were there. The person who answered the phone said that all the 9 sets that we ordered had arrived here and a couple of sets had already been picked up. When we arrived at the store we found out that only two of the three sets I was responsible for were ready. The dept. manager said sorry and that my missing rental will arrive on Thursday. Then it turned out that the vest for my father's set was actually child's size. Then I tried on my brother's vest, because we are the same size, and it was little big. They said they would have to order another vest for my dad to arrive on Friday morning. When I was upset about the vest arriving the morning of the wedding, they said they thought the wedding was on Saturday. Even though they say the August 2 date, they ignored it and assumed the wedding was on Saturday. After that we found out another vest out of the 9 wouldn't arrive until Friday morning as well. On Friday morning when we went to pick up my set and the replacement vests, we found they did not replace the vest and so we had to wait around an hour while the tailor altered the vests. I complained how our experience with the service had not been great so far, and there was no apology or offer of a future discount. I returned all 9 sets on Saturday evening. My wife and I decided to try to talk to the store manager again about what happened. When we brought up the issue about items not being ready until the morning of the wedding, the manager said "That's not true" and said WE were late to pick up the items. We tried to talk to him honestly about what happened but he couldn't even admit that it was the stores mistakes. He just continued saying we were wrong. We got fed up and decided to walk out. We decided to file a poor review because of his unwillingness to apologize, offer a discount, or admit any wrongdoing; lateness of the order, and inaccuracy of the order. Despite Yelp revoking my 2012 Elite status because I was too busy to post, I still believe in the cause...so here I am back at it! I'm going to keep this one short. I do not like to dwell on negativity. The story..simplified... Best friend wants traditional tuxedos with a throw back: suspenders. A New York City branch of this company gives us 6 sets of suspenders: 3 working, 2 broken, 1 youth. This is a problem, especially since we discover this the day before the wedding. As Best Man, I am upset, but think on my toes. I call the Cranston branch (closest to wedding) the night before and speak to a gentleman about our issue. He says it will be no problem to come in the following day before the wedding and swap out our bad suspenders for 3 good sets. Another groomsman and I arrive to find incompetence. Not only are there no suspenders in stock, they offer no help, no refund, and no suggestions. They keep us waiting 20 minutes while they make phone calls to the man who said we should come in. He has no good explanation. They basically told us that we were SOL. Never go here!!!!!! read more

I have always seen their commercials on tv buy 1 get 2 free of sportcoats or suits but this day it was 3 shirts also!! I am always looking for new and exciting sportcoats and suits and today was my day! We walked in and was immediately greeted by Stacy G. and... That is big to me... She went on to tell us about the sale I mentioned earlier and I was so excited haha! So I found 3 100% cashmere sportcoats ( navy, black, and grey!! In my size 48r straight off the rack they fit amazing!! Also I found some nice traditional shirts to go along with them!! Stacy was a great help and very knowledgable!! I cannot speak more highly of my experience at the Garden City (RI) Jos. A. Bank store today (1/1/18). I was greeted at the door by Joe Zuccolo and he handled my entire shopping experience. He walked me through buying 2 suits, 3 dress shirts, 3 ties and some accessories. His knowledge about the fabrics, sizes, cuts, tailoring, etc. was best in class. His personal attentiveness to every detail made me feel like I was working with a personal valet and clothier. The store also had everything I needed in stock. I needed to rent a vest and bow tie for my son's senior prom. (He owns a tuxedo.) I called this store and spoke to Colin who stated they rent what I needed. I asked for a price and he said $30-40. I confirmed the amount with him. A couple of days later, I left work early to accommodate my son's busy schedule to pick out the vest and bow tie at this store. Colin waited on us and then quoted a price of $65. I reminded him he had quoted me a price just a few days before at almost half of today's price. He stated he was looking at the wrong column in the pricing book. I informed him that we did not live near this location and we came to this store because of the price he quoted. He didn't seem to care. He didn't offer to honor his quote and so we left the store. I was able to order them online for half the cost. What a big waste of time. read more

I was able to get in and out with two suits, fully tailored, in 15 minutes and under $700. I'll never go anywhere else for suits again.

My boyfriend and I purchased a suit in February and they told us to come back 6 weeks before the wedding we purchased it for. We went 7 weeks before they fit him for the suit and sent it to be hemmed and tailored. They called 2 days before the wedding for us to come pick it up. When we arrived the suit was entirely too tight. They told us it would be another 2 weeks for the suit to be ready. We had to go elsewhere for another suit for the wedding in two days. We then went back 2 weeks later only to be told "we have misplaced your suit and don't know what to tell you" NOT A JOKE. I was appalled. My dad gets all of his suits there and I was so embarrassed to have recommended this place to my boyfriend. My parents had to get involved and suddenly the suit was found and now too big. We took the suit and left after being told numerous times we could not return the suit and just get our money back. Safe to say we will never be back. Horrible customer service. read more

Today was not my first time in this branch of Jos A Bank. Surely enough, my prior visit was equally as unpleasant. The only reason I go is because of the deals (buy 1 get 3 suits free, 4 dress shirts for $149 *see comment in last paragraph regarding this offer*, etc). I was greeted by a rather nice younger guy when I first arrived, and it seemed like he was very willing to help. I told him that I needed dress shirts, he measured my neck and arm length, and then we proceeded to look at what dress shirts were in stock. Very disappointed with the 3 dress shirts they had in my size and with a spread collar, I decided to try one on just to make sure the shirt fits me right with the intention of ordering the colors I wanted to the store. The young man was then called to the back of the store and never returned to assist me. In an attempt to try on another dress shirt that was half a size larger in the neck, an older man (Mr. Asshole) came to the back of the store and instantly raised his voice at me asking me what I was doing. Utterly surprised that he raised his voice at me, I explained that I wanted to try on the shirt that was half a size up in the neck. As Mr. Asshole took the shirt out of my hand he asked me if I was going to buy the shirt. With a pretty good sense of where this was headed I responded that I will buy the shirt if it fits well. He insisted on then remeasuring me because he refused to believe I knew my measurements correctly. After trying on the shirt and saying the shirt was nice but didn't have any of the colors I was looking for, Mr. Asshole (again) insisted on checking the store because apparently I am not capable enough to find a white shirt in my size. At this point I decided that Mr. Asshole does not deserve to get commission for "helping" me. When Mr. Asshole told me that they will order the shirts for me, I told him that I do not intend on buying them today. Upset that he won't receive commission, he tossed the dress shirt on a table and asked why I won't buy it today. Coming up with the first excuse I can think of, I replied that I need to make sure I have the money to spend on 4 dress shirts. As a young professional, I have been able to effectively use this excuse in the past. To my astonishment, Mr. Asshole chuckled at this response. My new best friend, Mr. Asshole, laughed at me and thought it was okay... what an asshole. I told him that I might return the next day to buy the shirts, but in the meantime I would also like some assistance with looking at suits. The extent of assistance I received from Mr. Asshole was a finger point to the back of the store where the suits were located. At this point I wanted Jos A Bank and Mr. Asshole to know exactly how I felt. Pretending to be on the phone, I walked past the check out table and loudly and clearly said, "this is a f***ing joke. This place f***ing sucks". I understand that Jos A Bank employees are compensated through commission, but that does not justify the quality of service and disrespect I received. I did like the dress shirts, however, and ordered them online (which everyone should do because the deal is 4 shirts for $124 online versus 4 shirts for $149 in the stores). I would consider going to another location of Jos A Bank, but for now I will stick to online shopping. P.S.- Don't ever get dress pants tailored by them. My guess is that it was Mr. Asshole's half blind 100 year old mother who tailored my pants. The worst tailoring job I have ever seen. read more
