Some employees did what they could to at least partially right the situation. However, I would suggest EXTREME CAUTION to anyone considering purchasing a suit here. Specifically, my advice would be: A) Be sure your exact measurements are taken if ordering a custom-suit and that they don't just 'measure' you in comparison with existing jacket and pant fits. B) Be aware of and educated about suit-fit problems for when you try on and do not accept any suit that does not properly fit you! C) I'd recommend working with only the older gentleman who works here and seems to know what he's about. He helped us get our issue fixed and I have an inkling our problems wouldn't have happened in the first place had we left the store that first day and come back when he was there. Too bad he probably can't be there all the time. We had a good experience renting a tux here in the past, so when it was time to look for something for our wedding went to this store thinking we'd have a similarly positive experience. We decided to purchase a suit as something special for our wedding and for professional and dress events in the future. The sales rep suggested a custom suit where an off-the-rack would be 'free'. He spent a lot of time with my fella looking at the off-the-rack suits and picking out one that was eligible that he liked and had him trying on all sorts of options. He also was supposed to have taken measurements for the custom-suit, something I am not sure ever occurred (or at least not in the detail needed). The custom suit and off-the-rack suit came in weeks later and we went to try on. We realized the 'custom' jacket was made with comically wide shoulders that raised the entire jacket up and away when arms were slightly raised and which dimpled off to the sides. (Have you seen that suit jacket David Byrne wears in Stop Making Sense? Think a much-reduced version of it but in that vein.) I immediately told them I thought the jacket looked very wrong and the staff there questioned me, saying "all suits are like this" and "you'll never find a suit where you can perfectly raise your arms." When I did not relent, they told us when their tailor would be in and could look at the fit for a second opinion. We left, and panic about this large purchase began to set in. Research about jacket construction and fit issues indicated to me that the shoulders had been made too wide and the armholes placed too low - a common issue in off-the-rack suits but which should NOT be present in a custom-fitted jacket. The tailor took one look at the jacket and agreed that it did not fit. We again, refused to take the suit as-is but were told they would contact us about options. Later that week we got a call to come into the store again for measurements. Turns out, the original person who measured (who appeared to be supervised during this process by another manager) had not documented all the necessary measurements but had instead noted which off-the-rack jackets and pants fit ok and then used those specifications for the custom suit order. This still boggles my mind. However, trip #4 measurements were taken again and a new jacket ordered. Trip #5 and 6 came weeks later when the 'fixed' jacket arrived and pant hems could be done. This time the fit was better and, mostly so I could stop having stress dreams about it, we accepted the order along with the off-the-rack suit which suffers from the same shoulder + arm fit problems and was not made according to the back flap specifications we requested. We also found out during this time that the 'coupons' (2 for $25) we expected to possibly use for his shoes or shirt or a tie would not be be sent to us until the order they messed up was finalized.Just beware and do your research on fit problems before placing an order for or accepting a suit order here. read more

Went with our son to look at suits for he and his bridal party. We were greeted and attended to by Travis. Travis was extremely helpful, giving wonderful suggestions and pulling multiple jackets color swatches and pictures to aid in the decision making process. He went above and beyond! Needless to say, the guys are going back to see him to finalize and get suits ordered! read more

So first time there for my daughter's wedding we had a nice woman help us. I went back about 1:30 today to discuss the ties again and the little man who waited on me was rude and had terrible coffee breath I should have walked out when I head him tell someone that women need to mind their own business because it was all down hill after that. I left not happy. But the good news - I had to go up to Cleveland and the woman at Joseph A Bank on Cedar Road was awesome. Just left there very happy because she was spot on with her help. read more

Good selection, but no greeting upon entry. A lady did direct me to a more size appropriate section of the rack. Other than that, I was ignored for the next 20 minutes and walked out without making a purchase. Perhaps I looked like I knew what I was doing? Or I don't look like a Hudsonite? I'll go somewhere more helpful. read more

Just moved to Hudson and I was looking for a good men's store. I came to buy a pair of slacks and ended up buying a couple suits too. Barry, the assistant manager, did a great job. Good selection. The problem came when I sent someone from my office to pick up the suit for me to take to a meeting out of town. I received the wrong suit!! Ok, it happens. I get it but what happened afterwards is what impressed me and why I wanted to write this review. I called and I happened to get Scott, the store manager. I explained what happened. I received an apology and a refund on some costs of alteration. Job well done!! I am glad I came here and I look forward to doing business here again. read more

Had two of the four suits I ordered sent to this store and had all four altered here. Suits were of good quality as well as the tailoring. Scott R. the Store Manager conducted the fitting and was courteous and did a good job. But two small but glaring service issues stuck with me, the store did not proactively call me each time when my suits were shipped to the store and when the alterations were done. Jos A Bank has decent service but their attentiveness can be lacking. But I would loosely recommend them. read more

My experience was very disappointing. First, I bought a suit and I didn't think it fit. The employee said my shirt was not a dress shirt. When I put on a dress shirt next day, the suit still did not fit properly so I went to the store and asked what the problem was. The clerk said the suit had to be tailored, and when we asked if there was an extra charge, the salesperson said the charge was on them. The next day, we went in to get the suit tailored and they charged us because they said the original employee was new and did not know their policy. I paid for the change but I won't be back again. I have another story for an internet purchase from them. I followed an advertisement and tried to check out a suit from their website.However, I had a problem at checkout, called their customer service, and placed the order spent total 3 hours. After two weeks, they sent a post card telling me there were no more available. Turns out the ad did not actually have a product associated with it. Stay way from them. read more

Strong value for men's business & casual clothing. watch for the weekly/bi-weekly sales events to get more for your dollar. Business attire does make a difference, first impressions are worth a million $$$$$$$$$$. Arnold and his staff are effective at helping you look your best, they are friendly, knowledgeable, and client oriented. read more
