As with many folks, family wedding comming up in 3 weeks and went to all the local mens stores, Dillards (good but high), Brooks Brothers ( The worst in History), and then over to Jos A banks and it was a busy store with alot of foot traffic. The service starts out good, then you get passed off to someone else. Brought a Jacket, Pants, Shirt & Tie. Needed minor alterations to the pants and the shirt was to be made into a short sleeve. WELL, Got the call to pickup (49 miles away) and the shirt wasn't done, the pin had fallen up of the sleeve. We brought everything else home. Today I drove up to remeasure the shirt sleeve, 49 miles. The alteration was done while I waited. As I was getting ready to leave, I told the guy my wife didn't get a suit bag when she picked everything up . . . . Here's the kicker, - "oh, the bags are $3 now" said the guy. - My reply was, "I Spent $475 bucks and had to drive back here twice because you made a mistake". - The guys response was "yeah we don't give them away any more" - I said "good thing all the rest of the stuff is home otherwise I'd return it and go to Macy's for the bag free" Tone Deaf Employees read more

Additionally, I once left my phone at the store and, upon returning several weeks later, was able to find it. I had thought my phone was lost forever. Went to the Joseph a bank at town center, service was OK they didn't have my size and since I needed it soon, I went to the Atlantic location. Service staff there were outstanding! They helped me find everything I needed, sized me up nicely and were very polite and professional. read more

Jos A Banks have royally screwed up my son's tuxedos for his wedding! We rented 5 tuxes and every single one was sized incorrectly or the wrong item was sent! I have been promised by creed the manager that the problem will be taken care of and it just keeps getting worse! His wedding is Thursday May 11th and the groom has pants that don't fit and no shoes. DO NOT rent tuxes from this store if you want it done correctly! I will never shop in this store again! They have made a very hectic time a nightmare! read more

I have bought several suits, shirts and pants from Jos A Bank in store. I recently needed a shirt for a performance. When I arrived at the store, I found the shirt that worked and they did not have it in my size. The gentleman said he could order it for me. I verified the size. When the shirt arrived. It was the wrong size. I called Jos A Bank. They said I had to return the shirt to the store and get a refund. They then ordered me the right size shirt (at my expense) and had it shipped. That shirt arrived today and had a large cut in the collar like someone used a box cutter to open a box the shirt was in. After contacting Jos A Bank, they said there is nothing they can do but for me to return it to the store for a refund. The store is 45 minutes away from my house and the performance that I need the shirt for is tomorrow. Now I have to scramble to buy a 3rd shirt for the performance and I have to find time to drive 45 minutes to return the two shirts that they messed up. As I told a Jos A Bank employee, I will no longer shop at that store. They have shown that they have poor customer service and attention to detail. I am currently in the semi-long process of getting ready for my wedding in June. The first time I walked in here I was for all intents and purposes ignored. I spent maybe 10-15 minutes in the store and no one said anything to me. I looked around and didn't see what I was looking for and left. However, this past week I came back in and I had a great experience. The staff was helpful and attentive for easily over 30 minutes. It is rare to get that much undivided attention in retail now a days, but it happened. Some of the styles to me seemed a tad outdated and you won't necessarily find the best off the rack fits here, but tailoring is the answer here. Most items here are just high quality and if you want to get it a bit more custom that is a choice. I bought slightly over $300 dollars worth of items and came out with a vest, dress shirt, dress shoes, and belt. Not too bad considering the quality, but not cheap. If you need to look good for an occasion this a good place to pop in and check out. I am not sure if the service is usually like my first or last experience, but I will side with positive and say they were just extremely busy the day I popped in. read more

I accompanied my fiancé here so he could select a suit to wear to our upcoming wedding. He ended up ordering his first custom suit. We were greeted and assisted by Rick, he was awesome. He was the sharpest dressed man in the place so we were happy to get some style influence from him. I went through several fabric swatches, with my fiancé slowly losing interest, until I found one that we both loved. Rick made great suggestions for the lining, pockets and stitching. He was friendly and witty and made the whole process quick and easy! We returned yesterday to do the final fitting and everything went well. Rick helped us pick out a tie, shirt and socks to go with the suit. He made us aware of the current promotions so we got the best bang for our buck. It was such a pleasure working with Rick. Never in my life have I been so insulted by a salesperson. When picking out suits with other groomsmen(a few months ago), this older sales guy was incredibly removed and talked down to me. I assume this is because I was much younger than my friends, however there is no excuse. At one point he asked if I needed a white dress shirt, I said no I have plenty in wardrobe, and he literally said 'I dont believe you. I see how you are dressed. That is a lie.' I originally came to the store to have some clothes tailored and it was going to be very cost prohibitive and I don't want to get into the details of what made it completely negative but it just so happened when I came to pick up the suits unaltered, the district manager who's name is Valerie was in the store. After discussion, she and I came up with a wonderful and amicable solution and now I am a fan of Jos A. Bank again! I've been purchasing clothing from Jos. A. Bank for years. They always impress with quality! I have a leather jacket from them I bought 12 years ago and it still looks new. The Town Center location has amazing staff-- I rented a tux for me and my son for a wedding and they customized everything to our exact requests. I liked my tux so much I purchased one of their semi-custom ones. Mike and the staff were extremely helpful, walking me through every step and producing a truly stunning tuxedo, and pairing it with great shoes, bow tie/cummerbund and a waistcoat. Ordered 5 suites for a wedding 6 weeks in advance asked to have them arrive 1 week before the wedding so groomsmen could pick them up and get alterations made. 1 week out I call to check the status and they tell me they did not order the suites yet, as they had inputted the wrong event date in the calendar. They rush shipped them so the arrived 1 day before the wedding so there was no time for alterations. I went to pick up all the suites and they added a 20 dollar "rush fee" to each suite without telling me. Not only did they try charging me for their mistakes, they then chose not to disclose the charge. I reviewed the receipt and asked them to remove the charges, which they did. At no point did they offer an apology, or a discount for the trouble. Very unimpressed with the customer service at this location. read more

When I realized that it'd been seriously over a decade since I had updated my suits, I headed to Jos A Bank at the Towncenter and James helped me out. While their high end suits aren't the cheapest, they had a buy one get a discount on the other so picked up two and they are extremely well made, quality suits. James found me exactly the color and styles I wanted, in a short amount of time, and wasn't pushy. The only issue I had with this location is the promised pick up time from the tailor was delayed a couple weeks because they had an issue with one of their tailors leaving and they had to scramble to find someone else. But not really their fault or something they can control, and most importantly whoever cut my suits did an amazing job. They fit absolutely perfect. Will definitely shop here again. read more

My fiancé & I went in shopping for a jacket to wear to an event. We initially went to Men's Warehouse, but the amount of sales people congregated around the front desk was intimidating and the number of sales people who kept coming up to us was a little overwhelming. We left and went to Jos. A. Bank and had an overall pleasant experience. The associate there was much less pushy. Though, when we finally did ask him a question, he took over a little and directed us to some things we weren't looking for, he eventually came back around and we were able to get exactly what we were looking for. The jacket we picked was hanging on a rack that said 75% off. When it was scanned it didn't come up as being on any type of sale, but the associate comped us 50% off for the trouble. I was informed ahead of time that the famous (at least to me) Buy 1 get 3 Free Sale was going to start and would be the last time that they did. I found out that it is due to being bought out by the same company that owns The Men's Warehouse. My wife and I walked in and we were immediately greeted by Richard Peterson who was so pleasant and comfortable to work with. I explained what I was looking for, he took my measurements and took me to look at suits. Not only did he show me incredible suits, but he was so helpful in making sure we stayed inside the budget. We were so comfortable with and his relaxed attitude and friendly demeanor made shopping a pleasure. Fitting was comfortable and professional and I know that the tailoring will come out perfectly because he made sure that not only was I comfortable, but his insight into what will look professional was invaluable to me. I don't often take the time to write reviews, especially not on larger chains, but the customer service at this store has been nothing but SPECTACULAR every single time I've come to visit. In my most recent, I brought in some pants that the hem had come undone in, and expected to wait a few days to pick them up. To my surprise, one of the two managers (whose name escaped me - he had a shaved head and glasses) took them into the back, and came out five minutes later with them fully repaired. During that time, I got to chatting with the department manager, Steven, who was probably one of the best retail employees I've ever met. It felt as if he was an old friend I hadn't seen in forever, catching up on all sorts of topics and talking about work as I shopped for various items, and yet I'd never met him in my life. I could've stayed there for an hour chatting and shopping, but unfortunately had to head back to work. I will most certainly be coming back to this store for all my future menswear needs. read more
