Recently came to the new location & really love it! When you step in, it looks like you're in a jungle, with a path that leads you do the counter & lots of seating areas including 2 couches & decor. They host events here, like floral workshops, which is great & there is a lot of space for the class. I got an Iced Fountain of Chai Matcha which was pretty good! This is my second time having matcha, and after being disappointed by my first experience at another establishment, Eden's Matcha has made me want to start drinking it! It was very smooth, and the matcha was not gritty. The notes of vanilla & cinnamon were present & subtle. You can tell that they strive to perfect their matcha for their customers. Omg love this place! We came here to study and were greeted by the sweetest cats. Upon entry, it's plant heaven. I would say the drinks are decently priced as well as the plants. It feels serene and there's light music playing in the background. There was a floral arrangement workshop happening and it was fun to watch. Came to POST for the World Cup Volunteer Tryouts and saw this place on my way out! It's very cool and aesthetically pleasing! There are even plants available for purchase! I ordered a Honey Latte Matcha and it cost around $7.50. The service was very quick and the employee was very friendly. Today I stopped by for my first time, I heard that is the new location with much better parking. I ordered the Garden of Eden matcha, I liked that you could actually taste the thyme and basil and not just subtle hints of it either, even though you could taste them it made the drink a little bit sweeter but it didn't mess with the original taste of the matcha. The area is nice and spacious with lots of foliage which helps with relaxation there or just to get some work done, there are also some more seats on the patio. read more

I loved The Eden Plant Co. I decided to visit for my self-care Friday. There were so much greenery, plants, and flowers. Many were just for décor, but some were also available to buy. While I was there, they had a plant class going on with wine being served and a photographer which looked really fun. The vibe was so calming and welcoming. There's plenty of seating both upstairs and downstairs, which made it a great place to unwind or get some work done. They offer a variety of coffees, teas, matchas, and pastries. I tried matcha for the first time (I ordered the Daydream-Peace) and it was amazing. I also had one of their pastries, which was also very good. (~2.5 stars truly) As a self-proclaimed matcha snob, I came here with high hopes while visiting Houston--and while the space was absolutely lovely, the matcha didn't quite live up to the hype for me. While it's visually appealing, it didn't necessarily invite me to linger or hang out for long. The staff was kind and welcoming, and I appreciated the creativity of their matcha menu--definitely not your average lineup. I ordered the honey matcha latte, and unfortunately, it fell flat. The drink came fully blended, missing that gorgeous layered aesthetic I usually love (milk on the bottom, vibrant matcha slowly cascading from the top). While the matcha flavor was present, it tasted very basic and generic--like something I might quickly whip up at home. I also couldn't detect any honey notes at all, which was disappointing. I found myself wishing the matcha flavor was much stronger and more complex. For $9.20, I expected something a little more elevated and memorable. I left feeling underwhelmed and a bit disappointed, especially after having a noticeably better matcha experience at a different local spot the day before--for a lower price. All in all, Eden Plant Co is a lovely space with kind staff and a unique concept, but I wouldn't return for the matcha. I love that their matcha drinks are unique and you can tell from the taste that they use quality matcha, and watching them make my drink, they care about the craft and making of their drinks. I got the 'Garden of Eden' and rate it 7/10. It's super refreshing, which the basil and thyme makes it a bright and earthy drink. I do appreciate that it isn't too sweet. Would highly recommend looking into and trying a floral arrangement workshop with Taiba. She's very talented, friendly, and takes times to explain the thought process behind her arrangements. At the time of writing, the arrangement class only costs $58, which is a fantastic deal considering you get to keep the vase or bouquet arrangement you make. I would encourage the guys to take a step out of your comfort zone and try a floral arrangement class as a new, fun, or different date idea. I'm an avid sports fan and do not consider myself creative or artistic in any way, yet with Taiba's guidance my arrangement wasn't half bad! Located inside Post. I know they used to be in EaDo and this is their new location. I haven't been able to figure out if the EaDo location closed or not -- it doesn't seem to have much of an online presence. Plants & coffee & pastries -- can't go wrong with that combo! The almond croissant is top notch, btw. Just a heads up -- this location is an events space as well. So if you're looking for a quiet spot to sip coffee and read/study, check their calendar first. We came by on a Sunday morning with our 2-year-old and 2-month-old. Turns out they have church service there on Sundays! That's cool but it was very loud (felt like a concert) so we couldn't stay there with the baby. Luckily, there's a nice little garden just outside so we still had a nice time. Anyway, it's awesome that they do various events but just be aware if quiet solitude is your goal. Parking is in a paid lot. read more

I really enjoyed myself. It was so calming, so serene, so lush. I really like that Eden is separated from the hustle and bustle of Post. It's much quieter in this area and the perfect place to relax. Solo or have more intimate conversations. They had a really nice beverage menu, but I did not try anything this time. There are so many plants and trees I wish I could have purchased several but I only got one. I'm actually not sure if everything there is for purchase because they do have some really large and well developed trees. The customer service was great. They checked on me while I was shopping around and gave me full instructions to care for my new baby when I was checking out. They are very knowledgeable about plants. Beautiful matcha bar inside the POST. I love that it is separate from the food hall. The plants and light give it a very relaxing vibe. The girl working the matcha bar was all alone when we arrived and quite overwhelmed. My friend and I ordered the same drink, but they tasted quite different. This place is a gem! All I could ask for in one space...coffee and plants! I was so happy to see how they were able to transform this new space into a calm and zen environment. Not only is the coffee good and the banana nut bread is to die for, I was able to transport to a whole new world of just me and nature. The quaint spots to sit and work or have an intimate conversation hidden among plants were my favorite. Ok some tips when ordering, there is not a size system so just order what you want and they take care of the rest. Purely on aesthetics, Eden plant is one of the most beautiful coffee shops in town. High ceilings, lots of natural light, and plenty of greenery and vegetation as its namesake would suggest. Service is friendly, drinks are decent (albeit on the pricier side). Lots of people around here studying or doing work during the day. At night they have various events such as jazz night (which is cool, but incredibly over-priced for tickets) They have some pretty impressive plants here, but they are incredibly expensive, and you can get most for cheaper elsewhere. Parking can often be a pain as it is quite limited. If you live in the neighborhood, I can see why you would be a patron here, but I probably would not cross town to make a dedicated visit. read more

I agree with many of those, but dare to add a plant nursery and abundance of natural (and purchasable) plants. It may be the adult in me, but anywhere where I can knock out two stops in one trip is a "hell yah" to me. I ordered the matcha latte with maple + basil, and while I was initially skeptical, it was one of the best matcha lattes I have had the opportunity to try. The baristas were prompt and friendly despite the long lines, and their baked goods were nearly sold out by around noontime, which was also a good sign. At around $8 for my drink, it was on the pricier side, but that is to be expected for being in the POST location. There is also an event center there on another side of the building. They also have a food court area that was not opened until later. But lots of options . Definitely recommend this place. Came to this coffeeshop to work on the dissertation I've been putting aside since moving across the country. It is a very nice, jungle vibe coffee and plant shop. The plants gave it a very nice aesthetic to work in and you could even purchase some if you wanted to take any home. There's lots of open space and it wasn't super packed on a Saturday morning/afternoon so it stayed quiet and pleasant to work. For anyone who comes (or anyone looking for some baked goods) DO NOT SLEEP ON THE PASTRIES. I tried the blueberry lemon lavender cake and the almond chocolate marzipan croissant and both were amazing. Honestly, I forgot about my matcha cause the pastries stole the show for me. A serene nature-themed coffee shop may seem incompatible with the crowded hubs of the POST, but Eden Plant actually compliments the environment nicely. In fact, the shop's pleasant aesthetics would allow it to fit in virtually anywhere. The owners essentially asked themselves what type of plants they should decorate the place with, and then proceeded to answer that question with "yes". This entire side of the POST is swarming with a garden variety (pun intended) of potted trees, shrubs, and ferns which makes for a pleasant sight. Seating availability may prove challenging immediately within the vicinity of the counter, but plenty of long wooden tables reside further out near the staircase. Lastly, the noise level only felt like a medium since a decent walk separates this shop from the food areas. However, a nearby free theatre eventually starting showing Ice Age so I required noise cancelling headphones to get work done on my laptop. The hot strawberry fields tea ($4) tasted different from other hibiscus teas I've tried. It contains a sour/tangy flavor that threw me off a bit but I still enjoyed sipping on it, especially with this cold front. Between the lightly sweetened and regular sweetened options, I personally prefer it light. I wouldn't return for the sake of productivity. As gorgeous and spacious as the coffee shop is, the constant flux of people and random shenanigans (e.g. a free movie playing next to the shop) made focusing on work a little too hard. However, I wouldn't mind stopping by again whenever I'm roaming the POST with friends. read more

came to the post location since i wasn't sure if the eado spot was still open after reading some reviews online. i've seen so many hyped reviews about this place, but honestly, it fell a little short for me. the space is gorgeous. it's right in the center when you walk into the post, and all the plants make it feel so beautiful and calming. that said, i'm not sure it's the best place to study or work since there are were some events going on, which can get pretty loud. also, parking isn't super convenient--there's a paid lot, or you can try finding street parking, but that's about a 5-10 minute walk away. i ordered the garden of eden (restore) - it's matcha, maple, thyme, basil, and oat milk. i thought it sounded interesting because it's their signature drink, and i've never tried basil in matcha before. one thing i didn't like was that there's no pricing listed for matcha on the menu. i feel like it's better to let customers know upfront instead of making them ask. for reference, the base price for matcha is $7, and oat milk is $1 extra, plus $0.75 for syrup. the drink was just okay. it wasn't bad, but i don't think it was worth the price. the flavors didn't really come together for me, and honestly, i'd probably just stick to making my own matcha at home next time. read more

Local coffee shop in Eado that's decorated exquisitly with plants and cute furniture. It created a great study environment that was calming and relaxing. I was really amazed with the different syrups Eden had to offer. I ended up choosing the maple basil syrup matcha and it was so delicious!! It was almost like a matcha with sparking basil mixed beverage. Full of flavor and very unique. The only slight downside is the lack of outlets, but if you get tired of sitting in one spot for too long, you can head over to Neighbors (connected bar) to get slice of pizza and study some more there. read more
