Who says Jo's doesn't serve food?
    Victoria B.

Don't visit Jo's. Just don't. But if you do, be ready for good drinks, live music, clever decor, friendly conversation, sofas, high tops, low tops, bar stools, a porch with a water view, free wifi, and a couple of televisions broadcasting the big games. Or not, It also has the cleanest bathrooms ever. What more can you ask for in a bar? There's no food, unless you count the Cheetos (two bags for a dollar) or the delivery menus on the bar. Or if you count the Bloody Marys filled with shrimp, celery, green beans, and olives. (If they added bacon, this would be six stars.) Or you could count the locally sourced food -- appetizers brought from home by locals and shared liberally with all. Plenty of parking. A short walk to the Boston/Hingham ferry. A long drive to civilization, but that's part of the charm. At Jo's, someone always says heyhowareya. Even if they don't know your name, they know your drink.

This bloody Mary is only available on Sundays with home-made pickled string beans, shrimp, good olives and celery.

Fun laid back atmosphere with fun live music (open mic) and often sing-a-longs on Sundays.

Always a fun time. Such a great dive bar. You definitely need to check it out and grab a Bloody Mary.

Friendly atmosphere, and great music! Wish they sold food there. You have to bring your own snacks, but otherwise a great night out.

The Bloody Mary was pleasantly but not overwhelmingly spicy with no hint of "smoke" which I don't like.

To start, the service was awesome, the waitresses were down to earth but made sure we had everything we needed and then some- including some extra chips to bring home with our unfinished buffalo chicken dip. The place was as the name suggests...snug. But the intimate environment was all the better with the live entertainment! Nothing really beats watching a local artist playing acoustic guitar and singing "You've Got a Friend in Me" over some good eats. I ordered the Cape Cod Rueban which is your typical Rueban toppings but a golden fried filet of haddock, on a toasted brioche bun. I was honestly blown away by this sandwich. All the ingredients were so fresh. Both of us were very satisfied with the quality of the food, the huge portions, and the reasonable bill compared to other establishments in the area. For all this plus 2 drinks, we were looking at $70. If we are ever back this way, we will definitely stop in again to try some new entrees!

The Snug is taking a stand for the neighborhood pub. A bar three rows deep where you can get a well-poured Guinness on tap and listen to live music. Servers are all polite. The lean into the neighborhood piece is for real -- I think I saw a high school date there one time. Food is pub fare. Steak tips and burgers are go-to's. Don't try to look for fancy, please don't. Deconstructed chicken pot pie would just be wrong.
