I remember when you closed by 11am because you ran out of product to sell. Your customer service has been epic as well, until today, when I came to get some smiles for my wife and her friends at work. in the past you have written I love you on cupcakes for me which I have always offered to pay for and been told no, it was your pleasure. But today, not only was the answer no, it was a cold no, the lack of kindness actually set me back a bit. then I was told you don't do that, and never have. I'm speechless. My friends call me the cupcake queen because of my obsession with cupcakes. I can diet like nobodies business, but if someone sits a fluffy little morsel topped with decadent icing in front of me, it's over. I was recently in town visiting and assisted in the pickup of the cupcakes. I got home and opened these little babies and was surprised when I bit into the first one. Where I'm from, Lake Charles is a pretty small town, and I think I went into shock when I had my first taste of a genuine Jo's Party House cupcake! Let's start with the cake: soft and spongy, it had the spring and delicateness of angel food, but with all the flavor of vanilla cake. It's baked to perfection so it's not chewy or dry, but moist and airy, so it feels like you're biting into pure soft bliss. I'm not sure what different kinds of icing they had, but I had buttercream (my absolute fave) and it was the perfect blend! The icing was dyed, but you couldn't taste it, unlike a lot of other cupcakes. It's perfectly smooth, creamy and free of any grittiness I've been unfortunate to experience in the past. I LOVE this place! I even bought a small serving of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake (not too sweet, but sweet enough for sugar lovers). By far, this is one of the best cupcake places I've ever had the pleasure to sample. My only complaint is that I can't stop eating them!!! :) read more

This is the best place in town for cakes and cupcakes. I have not found another place in the US which makes icing quite like they do. It's sweet, slightly tangy and goes wonderfully with their light cake. They will make cakes to order. They also sell cupcakes and small, heart shaped cakes out of their store. Every time I'm in town I make sure to go by and get a dozen cupcakes. It's just too bad they don't ship! read more

I really don't see what the hoopla is behind these cupcakes! Epic Failure!!!!!!!! They have a box cake texture and dry. Nothing fancy & like they were made in an "Easy Bake Oven". My husband didn't want to order any when we walked in. He said he'd rather have a hostess ding dong based on the look and flavors but I just had to indulge. I ate one & threw the other away. Trust me...I know good cupcakes and Georgetown Cupcakes in Washington DC have the best!!!!!!!!!! But people in Lake Charles kept ranting & raving about this place so I made a trip and was disappointed to the Max! I couldn't wait to come home to Houston and treat myself to a real cupcake at Celebrity in West University.
