I ordered the melted ice cream look cake and it just looks off. They could've taken 2 extra minutes to color the icing so it actually looks like the ice cream is melting. Let me preface this review to say that if I could give a business zero stars, I would def give Cypi's zero stars. I will explain that reasoning in this review that I hope you will indulge it's length to save yourself from dealing with this business. Now based on my personal experience, I'd give them one star as I have had Cypi's cupcakes for MANY years. My sister's family loves them so I'm faced with eating one every Christmas Eve (I could say no but I love my sweets). Anyway, the cupcakes themselves are pretty dry and require AT LEAST a cup of milk to wash them down to prevent any issues the next day (if you know what I mean). I always suggest leaving a couple of them for Santa but pretty sure he trashed them upon delivering the goods. Now on to why Cypi's gets zero stars and this review. There is one thing that makes my blood boil and that is when someone messes with a family member. Cypi's has done that by basically calling my sister a liar. Here is what happened in her own words: "I will NEVER order from Cypi's again....called in your nephew's B-day cupcakes from Cypi's for his classroom and today I picked them up.. the total was nearly $200!!!!! When I said I ordered confetti petite cupcakes that were $2 a piece she said no ma'am they are specialty cream cheese filled which are $3.50 each. Well I chalked that up to my mistake at first. When I got the left over cupcakes from the classroom at the end of the school day, there were several left and I ate one. NO CREAM CHEESE FILLING!!!! I called them back and the girl argued with me and said she filled them herself....I said ma'am I JUST ate one there is no filling!!!! She was awful to me and accused me of lying. Her customer service was abhorrent. Well after many years of eating Cypi's, I will tell you the icing on top was cream cheese but there was NO FILLING in these cupcakes. I am appalled at the behavior by this lady that spoke with me and your brother-in-law. I believe in supporting small businesses after having my own for 26 years but this is unacceptable!" It's a shame that my sister was treated this way and was way over charged for, in my opinion, subpar and moist-less cupcakes. I have included pictures to this review of the cupcakes in question which CLEARLY show that there is cream cheese icing on top but ZERO filling in the middle. Besides, why would you order 4 dozen cupcakes for 10-11yo that were filled with cream cheese!? Really!? Kids don't want that! Anyway, fair warning if you decide to order anything from Cypi's. Check the order 2,3x and stop by the grocery store for a few gallons of milk. read more

I sent my husband to pick up cupcakes for an adult birthday party tonight. It was almost $25 for 6 tiny little cupcakes and tasted old. That is one bite for a man. Disgraceful. I am cake decorator. Never had a bad experience with customer service. The staff is always nice and friendly when I walk in. I love their treats as well.

These cupcakes taste good, but the customer service is awful, even by Lake Charles standards. And it's not just the employees. It's the owner too. They make you feel like you're inconveniencing them by just walking into the store. It's a marvel to me that theyve stayed in business so long with such terrible service. Stay away from this place worst cake maker in town by far. I went in and showed them a picture of a cake my wife wanted for her birthday and asked if they could duplicate it, they said yes so I paid for it. So a week later came in to pick it up cake was nothing like the picture I showed them. I paid for the cake ahead of time so now I'm stuck with a cake that looks like a 4 year old made it. So I called to talk to the owner and all I got was stubborn argumentative person. I put1 Star wish I could put negative stars. this place isn't worth one star. So if you like your cake order to be wrong and like rude customer service then this the place for you. Came to buy cupcakes for a friend who just became a US citizen and asked if they can customize it with red, white and blue spray or decor. The owner came out and asked what its for and when we told her, she said she will not charge us for it and tell our friend congratulations! What a nice lady! Not because she did not charge us for it but for her thoughtful gesture and recognizing the importance of the occasion. God bless her and her business! Extremely poor customer service. They don't even deserve one star. I ordered a three tier square cake for my wedding, they baked a round cake. The lady who took my order remembered me saying that I wanted a square cake but she baked a round cake. She couldn't even come out from the back to apologize to me for screwing up my cake. The owner said I would get a refund and the refund was crap! I got my $50 deposit back. I will not use them for and other event I have and I would not recommend them to anyone who values customer service. read more
