Over a year and still going strong! Every Friday for Happy Hour, we love this location and all of the amazing people that work there. Being regulars, we enjoy the company and banter between their employees. They always take the time to come over and are genuinely interested and caring about how our week is going. That's what makes this location so great and we hope management keeps it this way and promotes this behavior! We love sitting in the bar where it is always packed and loud. After a long week it is imperative to get an adult beverage (on HH sale!) and let out the frustration or glee pent up in us. Other regulars seem to enjoy the same thing. They have plenty of non-bar seating which is much quieter if needed. We have tried almost everything on the menu and occasionally will ask for something off menu, which they gladly make. ALA secret menu like In-&-Out ;) We recently tried the Carnitas Street Tacos and they are stuffed huge and fantastic! I love the #3 combo with a beef enchilada, cheese (add onions) enchilada, and of course their famous deep fried beef taco with rice and refried beans. We often visit this location & are pleased with the attentive service & delicious food. Restaurant always looks clean. Last night we had take out for the 1st time, which I don't like doing because take out orders are often wrong or something is left out but our order was perfect. They included complimentary chips & salsa with each meal. Highly recommend for dining in or take out. read more

Well, once again we went out to eat at Jose Peppers last night. They were having a special on their Pollo Magnifico for only 9.99. I had never had it but the photo and description of it looked enticing and it delivered! My wife got the Tortilla Chicken soup, also delicious. Plenty of leftovers for another meal for each of us. As always, the folks that work there were extemely courteous, caring and very pleasant. KMacho used to be our go to place for Mexican food but there is usually a long wait for a table, the tortilla chips on our last several visits there have been stale and this location is a bit closer for us. I also like that JP's has specials which saves us some money. Both have high quality food for sure but for now I prefer JP's! read more

I'm really surprised that I've never reviewed this location. I've been here several times, especially since the mission location closed. I normally order online and just pick it up. It's always been super easy and convenient. During my last visit, I actually ate in the restaurant because we had a family dinner there. The staff was super accommodating, especially because we had a few people and weren't really sure on how many. The interior has quite a few tables and a separate bar area. I believe they also have an outdoor patio, but I didn't get to check that out. I almost always get a house Margarita, rocks, salt. It's super cheap, very good and you can even get it to go. During happy hour the margaritas are two for $10 so you really can't beat that. But even if not on happy hour, they're only six dollars. A few others in my party got frozen fruit margaritas-peach and strawberry. Those were a little sweet for me but they still tasted good if that's your thing. I always get the exact same thing every time I go to Jose peppers. I get two soft steak tacos and I substitute the rice and beans for a side salad with ranch, preferably dressing on the side. I don't care for the rice and beans so I always get the salad. The salad always has fresh produce. I do like the ranch dressing but sometimes they are heavy handed so I like it on the side. The steak tacos are light but still filling. They are definitely not authentic but that's OK. I don't always want a super authentic taco. Occasionally, I crave white people Tex-Mex. And when I do, this hits the spot. The steak is always nice and tender, which is surprising from a Mexican spot. I will most definitely return. I'm sure I will be back in the future with family to eat there. And I recommend it to anyone just wanting a nice solid Tex mix experience. read more

First time here at this location although it is just a few blocks from home. Seems to be popular with the older crowds. Pricing seem decent. Thin strip tortilla. A little heat to the salsa and chunky with peppers and cilantro. Lunch portion was enough for one person. Dinner size is huge if you got the appetite. Food was fairly good. This location is the best!! I frequently order cheese dip to go for when i need to bring an appetizer to a party. They pack salsa and chips too. There was a fly in my drink glass which I didn't see until I had been drinking awhile. Gross. I showed the manager and figured he would offer me a discount on my ticket at least. Work lunch. I'm not a fan of Jose Peppers but I always go back hoping it's different. It never is. The salsa is really tomato-y and oddly chunky. The chips, however, are light and crispy! We are a family living in different states and wanted a meeting place central to our locations. Where do people from Oklahoma, Arkansas and Nebraska meet? José Peppers in Overland Park, KS! We had a party of 8, with a hearing impaired child and an elderly man with significant hearing loss. Our server, Kevin, kept a positive, friendly attitude and showed understanding patience with the repeated questions and, "What?" being fielded at him. I wasn't crazy about the salsa, as it tasted more like a jar sauce, but the chips were warm, crisp, and tasty. The guacamole was fresh and very tasty. Each of us got a different entrée and they were all simply delicious. Came here for an early dinner on a Sunday and I must say, the food was disappointing. We started with a guacamole appetizer. It was pretty good except for a huge chunk of hard, unripened avocado that took up half of the bowl. I had a mahi mahi bowl and the fish was waaaay too salty. The rice and beans were pretty good, however. My husband got a steak fajita. It was not great. Also way too salty, and the steak had a weird mushy texture.
