My appointment is at noon so I came 30 minutes early. I'm happy they have the AC bumping. Only 4 people are allowed in the waiting area. You cannot bring someone with you to the appointment. I was immediately asked for $50 to see the doctor without being asked if I had insurance. They checked my temperature before asking for the money. I didn't appreciate having to initial my name stating I wouldn't sue if I get covid from the dentist.
Every patient is sharing the same pen. I had to ask for some hand sanitizer because I didn't feel safe. Before my appointment I had asked if I needed to do anything before seeing the doctor. I was told no. Unfortunately, I don't speak spanish so they had to make a copy of the reasons for my visit in english. Wish I learned spanish, it's never too late. The english paper was so dark you were unable to read it. But as soon as they ran my insurance they didn't need a copay. Guess what I needed to call my insurance to switch to see the doctor.
Mind you I have to go outside in the heat to do this, so I do. I did the change and go back in and tell them. Then I'm told I need a confirmation number. What? Why didn't you tell me this beforehand? Thankfully, the other receptionist told the lady in the front I didn't need one. I'm literally sitting in the office right now wondering how in the heck I'm going to be able to be seen at noon. Thankfully, I'm not in pain. While waiting a name was called and no one got up. Apparently the 7 people waiting outside are patents and not just their plus 1s.
There's no bathroom in the waiting room, or maybe there is but I don't see one. There is a door that someone is literally sitting on top of I guess that's the bathroom? I feel bad for anyone who has to use it, because you will hear everything that they are doing in there.
The walls are pretty much bare here. The outside looks like a makeshift sign that was made overnight. The doctor does have her ig posted all over the wall dr.rivasdentalclinic. They are also looking for you to review them on google Josefa Rivas DDS PC. I wish I spoke spanish so that it would be easier for everyone. My documents that are scanned in are so dark.
While sitting in the office someone came in at 12pm for their appointment. Last time I checked that was the time for my appointment. Was it over booked? It is already passed my appointment time? From what I'm gathering the doctor is completely overwhelmed with patients. I wish I could have walked out but they charge you $25.00 fee.
At 12:30pm there were two people ahead of me. How? My appointment was at noon? There's barely anyone here. What was the point of making the appointment for noon then? I really hope I get better insurance ASAP. I got here at 11:30am to make sure I'd be on time to see the doctor. Wouldn't I be the person who is next? This place is very uncomfortable and I don't feel safe. No x-rays have been done or anything yet. I'm just sitting here with the same people that have been here since 11:30am. There's some new people who are just standing outside waiting.
At 12:45pm finally some xrays were done. I didn't feel safe because whomever was putting items into my mouth for the xray didn't have clean gloves. Finally, saw Doctor Rivas at 1:05pm only to be told my insurance doesn't cover a root canal. No teeth cleaning was done. Barely looked into my mouth. I'm so displeased with my experience. I recommend you don't come here. I was under the impression that medicaid covered dental work. I guess I will just have to deal with this pain forever. I was out by 1:10pm and very upset.
When I got home my insurance said it's covered once it has a prior authorization. Unfortunately, its a no go for this place. Too bad the doctor was extremely nice! She's great but my overall experience was terrible. read more
