Every visit I have had here has been absolutely wonderful. I seldom have to wait beyond the scheduled time for my appointment, and, when the appointment does begin, the staff are courteous, caring, and attentive to what I am physically feeling. The women working in the optical division of the Eye Center are nothing short of wonderful, as well (my particular experience has been with Emily, whom I would credit for ensuring that I do not prematurely develop blindness). I tend to be very critical of doctors (medical jargon doesn't impress me, in the words of Julia Sugarbaker), and I've never had anything but wonderful experiences here. If your insurance covers the Eye Center, I would heartily encourage you to go. The facility is lovely and maintained impeccably, and the staff and doctors are a delight.

My old Eye Doctor back in my hometown only had 1 person working in the office. It always seemed that I was in and out quickly. There are 3 providers that I know of here. I lost count of the number of people working in this business, this just needlessly drives up the cost of care in my opinion. My primary issue is I was careless and let the provider prescribe a contact lens that did not work correctly. I made contact and was told they would order a trial lens and call me back for another fitting That was months ago and I still have not heard back. I'm not going back, and it's a shame because this clinic is almost within walking distance from my home.

I forget the optometrist I saw that day but she was amazing and made some recommendations for my contacts. I was able to save some money compared to the other place I was going. My wife was on her last pair of contacts and called to schedule an appointment - first one available is 2 1/2 months out. She called back again to see if she could buy a box to hold her over to the appointment and the new people told us they would not do that without giving her a checkup first. Her prescription is "-6" in each eye, so I guess that they just want her to live blind for the next 2 1/2 months. Well, the new practice under Dr. Johnson has just lost one of their longest term customers. I am happy for Dr. Bailey in his retirement but we already miss him. It is a shame that the practice he continued to build after Dr. Peters lacks the basics of customer service.

They had to send me here for my regular check up bc they don't have a regular eye doctor at the other location. Nobody told me this doctor does not have credentials to accept vision insurance. I arrived for my appointment and was told upon check-in that I had to pay out of pocket, even though I have vision coverage that is accepted by the practice overall. I shared this should have been told to me when the appointment was made and they offered to cancel my appointment. I already came out of my way to a very inconvenient location to get this appointment done, so no, I'm not cancelling. Luckily I have the money to pay, many others would not. The young lady at the front desk handled herself well, even when I was not calm. I then had to wait for the doctor. Appt was at 330. The tech brought me back and took the measurements and I then had to wait for the doctor. The doctor seemed to second guess my prescription a few times. They made me sign something that I got my prescription even though I didn't. Then they messed up the bill. They had charged me $99, then the eye dr said I owed $1 because it should've been $100. I told the lady at the desk that I owed her a dollar and she said I didn't owe the $99 and would void it. I told her I didn't think that was the case and that I owed $1 for the difference and she insisted I only owed $1 for the entire visit and voided the $99. I wasn't going to fight her. She called a day later to tell me I will be getting a $99 bill ‍. The eye doctor is a once/year visit if we are lucky. Poor experiences will not keep me coming back. Guess it's time I find another practice. Given my insurance wasn't charged and I have no faith in the prescription from this doctor, I will be going somewhere else before ordering new glasses or contacts.

Eye doctors used to be that for me, but after my experience with Grove Eye Care, I feel much more confident and relaxed. I had my first visit back in 2023. I was looking to start wearing contacts and to get a new glasses prescription. Booking an appointment was easy. My first visit is a bit of a blur since it's been over a year, but I did have main takeaways. Whoever it was that guided me in how to put on contacts was the kindest and most encouraging person I've met. In my experience, a lot of eye doctor visits have involved inpatient people (I can understand because I would feel inpatient hearing the same six letters over and over again). I did not feel this way with my contact teacher. She was there to support me and made me feel welcome. I highly recommend getting contacts here. The contact experience involves getting the right prescription for you with a doctor, learning how to put them on, getting trials for a week, then returning to see if you'd like to order them. I have VSP which helped with the cost and have enjoyed the Bausch and Lomb Infuse 1-Day contacts. As for eye exams themselves, on an annual check-up this week, I did have a more impatient examiner, who didn't really explain all the machines to me which I didn't mind as much because I felt more confident, but had wished she told me when bright lights were flashing. They have a machine you can pay extra for so you don't need to get your eyes dilated which is nice. My first examiner in 2023 did explain everything. I think you just need to ask. My doctor is Dr. Schwartz. She helped me with my contact journey as well as treating headaches and dry eyes. She's very direct and to the point and can answer any questions you may have. I've enjoyed having her as my doctor. During my visit this week, I explored possibly purchasing new glasses/lenses at the shop section. It was a bit out of my price range, but do know you can get your prescription for free and if you need the distance of your eyes it's a $10 charge. If you're feeling uneasy about eye doctors, this is a great place to feel more confident and comfortable with them. The parking is easy here with a lot out front. It's near Carytown. And there is a gender neutral single stall for bathrooms. I highly recommend.

All of the employees and Dr. Bennett were so pleasant, patient and caring in dealing with us! It can be very difficult finding providers who are caring and patient, but I was blown away by how easy they made it and the care they showed my mom.

To say I was impressed with Dr Ambrose, the front desk folks, technicians and optical woman is an understatement. Everyone was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Dr Ambrose showed me and taught me things no other doctor had in the past. The eye test for prescription was done by her. What a difference than what I was used to. She took time, answered questions and explained various pertinent information about the eyes. She also has a sincere, warm hearted and enthusiastic personality.
